This is a quite place, good music nice atmosphere, definitely a bar, if you're looking for good customer service my suggestion is go else where. Our waitress had a not pleasant attitude. When asking for a suggestion with the menu she said everything! How does that help me? The food looked great and some of the ingredients were good but most of it was unseasoned and bland. They don't even have real Swiss cheese! Out of all the choices in tahoe I will not be goin back. Which it's unfortunate because this place has potential, if the employees were more friendly they might have had another chance but maybe start by smiling more! CB's is a staple when we visit North Lake Tahoe - we always come here at least once each trip. They have a great menu and the food is all delicious. The only issue that we have had is that the service tends to be quite slow, so I recommend patience. It is worth the wait. read more

I love this place! The staff was super friendly and always checking on our table. We ordered appetizers and two of the best calzones ever! They also have lots of TV's and were quick to put on the Hockey Finals game. Definitely going back when I'm up there next. I always tend to lean more towards the sandwiches and pasta dishes as the pizza has occasionally been lackluster, but recently that has not been a problem. This place is A GREAT locals spot! Draft beers are the cheapest around Tahoe especially during happy hour. They have a great menu with lots of options: pizza, salads, sandwiches, calzones, pasta plus themed days for specials ( Mexican Thursdays , Italian Tuesday, fish Fridays). My personal favorites are the lite white pizza, homemade soups, the Super Sub sandwich, and pasta specials when they have them. I go here all the time. Keep up the good work CB's!! read more

We just ordered 2 large pizzas from CB's Bistro online. I ordered a large California Classic and a large CB's Combo. When I picked up my pizzas I had apparently ordered 2 of the California Classics. Since it was my error, I took both pizzas home. We tried 2 pieces of the California Classic and were very disappointed. We decided to walk back knowing we couldn't eat two of these pizzas. We brought both pizzas back and asked if we could trade for one pizza we might enjoy. We were told it was our order, our mistake, and no attempt to make anyone happy was made. We left both pizzas on the counter and went home very disappointed and hungry. read more

Update came back and had a burger and fries. Both were great. Nice enough place. Super fast wifi!! Next to laundromat. The staff was nice and very friendly. Decent selection of beer and the usual for this area on draft. The beer could be a few degrees colder but that's getting picky. I ordered a salad. It was good. Nice size and there was plenty of everything on it especially things that cost more than lettuce such as olives, feta cheese, artichoke hearts, and the amount of dressing they give you is enough for two. Where to start. Well, we walked in to order for outside dining covid service. Cashier was friendly. We decided on our order, swiped a card and the options were 18%, 22% or 25%. Happy to tip those working physically during covid but this was excessive. Anyway, we sit down. Pizza takes ~50 minutes to get to our table, probably closer to an hour. No problem. Would be nice if person who took our order cared to mention it might take a while - nope. Furthermore, no one ever checked on us in the 2 hours after we sat down. Sad. Pizza comes in a to go box. No plates, no cheese, no peppers. That's a problem. Biggest problem is the pizza tasted like shit. Just a zero in the flavor/character departments. Crust is horrific. Really don't know how the person in charge could say, "yep! That's what we're going for" when they landed on this recipe. Would have been just as satisfied with a frozen Trader Joe's pizza. Not sure why anyone is giving this shit hole more than one star. The pizza sucks. read more

This is really unfortunate that I had to resort to writing a Yelp review but CBs has gotten gradually worse over the years. We had been going to this place for pizza / chicken wings etc for years up until about five years ago (I think they may have been taken over by new owners but not sure). We get the same thing every time - pizza well done, Caesar salad and mozz sticks. Our last experience was the last straw when they messed the whole order up. Bad dough, not cooked enough at all. Ordered a Caesar salad with no cheese add chicken, the salad had cheese and no chicken, which we were charged for. Not sure what has gone wrong but unfortunately we will no longer be going to CBs to curve our pizza cravings :( read more

Super convenient location in Carnelian Bay. Super easy place to eat with kids (when you have been rejected from Gar Wood just across the street). We enjoyed the variety of food from pizzas to salads and the kids menu with mini pizza and meatball WITHOUT tomato sauce. Good point! Parking was a real challenge, but a bonus is they are very dog friendly and have water etc. This is not just Pizza, but a great fusion food experience in a family oriented atmosphere. Great food, terrible service! Don't go here expecting a quick dining experience! We've been in twice in the past few months, and the lack of service was a feature on both trips. The food is among the best in all of Tahoe, but the service is the absolute worst. As if waiting 25 minutes for a standard hamburger and a $20.00 gluten-free personal pizza wasn't bad enough, when the mousy brunette server apologized for the long wait and we joked about how long it took for our order to arrive, she said "well, you could have gotten up and left..." in all seriousness. We loved the food, but won't go back due to the ridiculously long waits for attention and our orders, but mostly due to the bad attitude that the staff displayed. Given its proximity to the Bay Area and Sacramento with their thriving farm-to-table and ethnic food scenes, it's a missed opportunity that the North Shore of Tahoe hasn't gotten on board. CB's is a pizza joint that has a good-not-great product that could be so easily stellar. The crust recipe is dense, tasty, and hearty. It has a crunch rather than a chew. It doesn't get soggy in the time it takes to get it home, a good very thing for take out. Imagine a standard puffy crust without the puff and a little more cracker crunch. It could be improved by adding a flour or grain that would enhance the flavor, like corn meal. We asked if they could make a margherita, they said yes, but the product was another sea of white cheese topped by tomato slices. To their credit, the pizza was tasty, and the tomatoes surprisingly ripe and flavorful. An italian sausage pizza saw a mince of sausage drowning in a sea of the same cheese that plagued the others, which dulled to sausage tanginess and made it almost indelibly rich. Dear CB: You've got the stuff to create a great pizza, just use less. Use your mozzarella selectively, with a lighter hand. Do some sauce research. get the best-tasting ingredients and use them with intention, with smart ratios. You'll save so money by using a fraction of the shredded mozzarella on just a few of the pizzas. Dump the chicken, pineapple, bbq sauce, whatever else doesn't really belong on a pizza (unless you can find a killer recipe for Hawaiian pizza), and start re-thinking like you are in Italy. Get down to San Francisco and have dinner at Piccino, Ragazza, and especially at Tony's Pizza Napolitano. I'll ck back next time I'm up. read more

OK my last review was for the pizza that has gone way downhill. We stopped in again though and this time my husband got a hamburger and I got the special which was enchiladas. Service is always fantastic and everything on the menu is good--pizza, sandwiches, burgers and apps, and the daily rotating menu specials are always a treat. Great selection of beers on tap. Always a good spot for watching sports on one of the many TVs, catching live music, or sharing a meal with a big group of friends visiting town or new friends at the bar. DO NOT GO HERE--IT'S FILTHY, AND BAD FOOD, AND SERVICE! Just visit the restroom while you're there. My family spent 5 days in Tahoe, as we have done many years and love some of the restaurants--we look forward to eating at our faves. As we were waiting for the poor service, my daughter and I used the restroom, and I won't go too much into that but OMG, disgusting!! If this is any inclination of what the kitchen looks like--how the heck are they open?!!! We returned to the table, where a filthy pitcher of water sat--either light brown water or a dirty pitcher, we didn't drink the water. We ordered our food, and it was not as it was described on the menu, and the salad dressing stunk so bad, I wouldn't let my daughter eat it--for fear she would get sick on our vacation. The others tried their food, and the meat smelled and the food was unedible. I spoke up to the server, making him angry and defensive, I asked for the managers number. As I awaited to pay the bill--only the liquid would I pay for, we barely ate 2 bites out of any meal, it sat on our table as we left. As I awaited my card/receipt, the "manager" walked in behind me, the server told me that was her and I could tell her my problem, I expressed that the food was disgusting and not fresh. She walked over to our food, looked at it, told me she thought it looked good and that I could just leave! That was how she would solve that--make the "problem" walk out the door so the other customers wouldn't hear me and want their money back from this nasty establishment. My whole family traveled to Tahoe this weekend to celebrate my sister and fathers birthdays. We heard that CB's pizza and grill was a great place to eat and that we could make reservations for our party of 19. We called and spoke with a man with a gruff voice. He seemed very occupied and unwilling to listen to our request. We asked to make a reservation for 19 and he said he doesn't do reservations and that we should just come and try our chances but he was pretty sure he wouldn't be able to accommodate us. On vacation and have always patronized this restaurant for the past 15 years. This year we went twice with our family of 6. Both times the experience was AWFUL. First visit we arrived when there were 2 groups of over 1 people dining. The place was packed. There was no place for us to dine in. We decided we really wanted this pizza, so we ordered a few drinks and waited for the pizza, so that we could take it to go across the street. Once the pizza's (3) were ready, one of the groups left. We asked if we could dine in the restaurant. The manager said NO. HOw Rude. We essentially were asked to go eat our pizza's out of the restaurant, because we had ordered them tO GO. That was a mistake on there behalf, because we not only tipped the order taker for to go pizza, but we would have probably had a bar tab with additional income for the restaurant. The order was wrong as well..... Second time we ordered the pizza to go and the pizza tasted awful. When we preordered the pizza, it wasn't quite ready, so we sat down to have a beer while we waited. When it was ready and we went inside to pay. The manager yells, "don't forget to charge them for the two beers". It was insulting and insinuated that we were going to just pay for the pizza. CB's is very popular, but the staff needs to be spoken to. If the owners really don't care how the customers are treated, it is apparent in the way the staff treats the customers. read more

Think she had a case of the trots and forgot about us while going. Asked for mayo with chicken san. Got it when our plates were were empty. Had to ask for bill. I was overcharged by $8. Cashier said only the server could fix it. She fixed it but was still $8 over. Never gave me a check to sign. I disputed overcharge with bank. Asked to talk to manager. Said they were not there. I asked who was in charge. She said manager on duty but she was too busy to talk to me. RUDE. Place was a disaster. Dirty plates, glasses, bottles all over the palce. Bar was a mess. Cashier asked me where I was from. I told her. She said if Ifrom Tahoe that I would not that every place is busy and this is what to expect. Unbelievable. Said there is nothing she can do. I know how to run a restaurant. If u are busy...and the kitchen is behind...don't seat people. Tell them u r behind...lif they choose to wait..they might be happy when they are seated. If not they will choose to leave but will not be disappointed as u were honest with them. The phone was ringing off the hook. People ordering pizza..quoted at least an hour. Many people there waiting for pizza to go and everyone complains they called over an hour ago. Take the phone off the hook. Don't take any more orders. Better to not take an order than piss so many people off. Everyone in the restaurant was complaining. Horrible experience and horrible service. Train your servers..better yet.
