Came here for a quick lunch since we were staying nearby and could walk here. There's not many options on the north shore but we weren't very hungry so opted for something simple. I ended up getting the the big kahuna chicken salad with pineapple and grilled teriyaki chicken. The salad itself was big and pretty filling. I enjoyed the canned pineapple for sweetness but the chicken was dry and the texture was similar to the already prepared chicken you can buy at grocery stores. The chicken was also too salty and the sauce was more just soy sauce than teriyaki and it wasn't sweet at all. Overall not a bad meal considering there's not a lot of eat around but I wouldn't choose to come again. We did get the local ice cream afterwards as well which was a nice treat. If I could rate this place a zero, I would. I'm so disgusted in this place, and I'm a server too. I know how to give grace and how to be patient. This place had 3 tables when we were sat and a handful of people at the bar, so being busy wasn't at all an excuse for how we were treated, especially when it seemed they were doing anything they could other than to serve us or pay us any attention. We were a party of 4 sat at 6:45 on July 9, 2025 and sat there for about 15-20 minutes with not even so much as glasses for the water on the table. They made eye contact several times and continued to ignore us and literally walk the other way and do anything else they could. Clear tables, stand around and talk, refill the water bottles for the empty tables, you get the point, literally ANYTHING THEY COULD TO AVOID US.... Meanwhile, 2 other parties were sat and offered glasses for the water bottles on the table and even had their drink orders taken. It's unfortunate that we're people of color, was that the reason we were ignored? I have no idea, but being the only people of color in the place, and so blatently ignored, I suspect so (and I hate that the thought even has to cross my mind). The part I'm truly most disappointed about, is that we had children with us. That's the worst part, is that our children had to feel the feeling of being ignored like that. Do better FFS, It's 2025! And too bad for them that we're from a tip oriented city, a super popular one at that, also a tourist destination, and most likely would have tipped more than anyone in that place. 20% is the minimum where we're from. We left after having to ask for glasses for the warm water on our table. We took our money elsewhere and were greeted with the best service at the next place. A blessing in disguise. I'll tell anyone I can to go anywhere but this place when they're visiting this side of Lake Tahoe. The worst service...or should I say, non-service of my life. We may have dodged a bullet though because honestly the reviews and pictures of the food are absolute trash, should have really listened to the reviews this time. I hope you do. Drive a few miles up to Tahoe City, it's worth it. ***Editing to add, since the owner decided to respond. You weren't there, and if you feel that was acceptable service, that's a shame. You said you weren't there, if you were, you would have seen us being ignored. Perhaps you should check your cameras before responding to reviews. And as I said before, it wasn't even busy to receive such horrible service. 3 tables were sat, including us and 2 were already finished with their meals, 1 was even paying and on the way out. And if it was "so busy" what's the excuse for the 2 tables seated after us that recieved water glasses and prompt service? If it walks like a duck, its a duck. DO BETTER! If you're not a person of color, you'd never understand lol so your comment is both baseless and ignorant. Good luck with your sub-par restaurant! And looking at your Google reviews, we aren't the first to feel that way. Seems like you, personally, are ruining a restaurant that once had a great reputation. What a shame. After reading a long review about how someone of color was ignored, I was concerned about going there again, but my kids wanted pizza and the smell from the smoker wooed me in. The place was busy but the two young service gals did a great job keeping up with the new customers, orders, and filling the water bottles on the tables. Pizzas were tasty, especially the one with the smoked meat. A person at the next table was eating lasagna and raved about it and commented on the generous portion (took half home in a box). The atmosphere at the bar seemed like a Cheers with the locals enjoying a beer and conversation. Did you know they have great ice cream, too? Personally, I think the owner should better advertise it. We were about to go to 7-11 for an ice cream bar when someone mentioned it. I liked CB's with the old owner, but LOVE CB's now with the smoked meats and ice cream. read more

Food was good but service was not. Let's start with the atmosphere of the restaurant. Prepare to be HOT. They had ceilings fans on but man, was it frigid inside and unfortunately they only have 2 small patio tables. You can either order online by scanning the QR code on the tables or walk up to the register and order. My husband and I opted to walk up and the young boy behind the counter did his best. Lol The food took forever to come out. Atleast 45 mins and even so, no one checked in with us. Told us it was coming soon. Nothing. We didn't get any employee interactions until the food was delivered and nothing after either. My friend and I shared a medium pizza, half meat lovers and half California classic. The thick crust was pretty thick and the pizza was loaded. Flavors were good. We also enjoyed their wings. My husband had the chicken strips and said they were good but fries were soggy. Our other friend had the chicken parmesan pasta. He enjoyed it but the portion was pretty small. The place is great because it's so close to the launching/water areas but it's incredibly hot, small and slow. With all the other pizza spots in the area, I don't think I'd come back. read more

Looking for a good pizza place in North Lake, unfortunately double checking the pizza box to make sure ours was made right... looked like a topping was missing and was told that the "was probably underneath the cheese". Wanted to love this place for being family owned but the delicious pizza was simply too too salty! Had a family favorite with fresh avacado and tomatoes but couldn't figure out where the salt was coming from. So deconstructing it found the crust and cheese were way way too salty! The CBs cheese burger is one of my favorites. Double patty with great tasting beef! Prices are reasonable for being in Tahoe right across the street from the lake...especially compared to Garwoods just down the street! I highly Recommend trying the ice cream as well if you don't end up drinking one of the tasty beers they have on tap. Also, this really kind and sweet server named Chelsea took great care of us while she was having to serve the rest of the entire restaurant. Pretty impressive that she could do it all by herself and still keep a positive and happy attitude towards the customers. Really felt at home here in CB's bistro! Been a long time customer but it had a while since we had been there. Sam, the only waitstaff was extremely warm and friendly despite how busy she became. However when iurvfood arrive the pizza was soggy and crust somewhat burnt. The California was over done and had a thick crust tapping on it wouldn't break. Not sure if it changed owners again, but food quality was lacking. And it's gotten expensive. If you want great staff. A go to place. For food that's just okay... maybe not. read more

I have popped into cb's every time I'm in Tahoe for years and have always had a good experience. I liked the old ownership as much as I like the new ones. The negative reviews on here are wild. If you're not planning on tipping on a tab over $100- It's pretty simple.... Don't. Eat. Out! Go wait in line at Safeway and pay even more to make your own food. As a second home owner here I'm aware i am apart of the problem so I do my absolute best to support the full time locals so I can continue to have awesome restaurants to go to. Anyways, the menu at cb's keeps getting better and better and the bartenders are consistently kind and welcoming. It's been years since we've been to CB's. What a disappointment!!! We ordered a medium pizza and their very veggie salad. The pizza crust was not real pizza dough. Kind of like a big cracker and the salad was inedible. The lettuce was wilted and had pieces that were slimy and shriveled. We did not eat it. Great BBQ hidden within North Shore Pizza Icon! We stopped by CB's Bistro last month and were surprised to see several BBQ items on the menu. We tried the ribs and a brisket sandwich. Both were perfectly cooked and flavorfully sauced. The housemade sides were a great complement. And the prices in the $20 range were exceptional values. A good selection of craft beers on tap balanced the food well. My choice was the Moon Time Hazy IPA from Morgan Territory. The meal was so good that we went back last week. This time, we tried the brisket tacos, which combined the beef with extra-thick housemade tortillas and two housemade sauces, one pepper-based and the other avocado-based. Delicious! And the price of $20 was a bargain. Sandwiched between the Carnelian Bay Post Office and 7-11, across from Sierra Boat Works, it's the perfect place for a casual Tahoe night out. read more
