I really hate doing this to a local business, but the customer service I received from one of the owners today was unfortunate and I need to ding the business over my experience. I had been to the store once before to tune up my son's Mongoose BMX bike when we first acquired it. The service was fine and the young man who helped me was pleasant and professional. The tubes needed to be replaced as well as one as the front brake pad. Today I needed to have the rear tire realigned since he is new to riding a bike and has eaten the pavement a few times. The rear wheel was rubbing against the body of the bike I took the advice of the same young man who helped me before to do a minor adjustment (not requiring the rear wheel to be removed and adjusted, which I was informed wold save me some money). Later in the day a woman called me to tell me the bike was ready for pick up. After a couple of hours I went to the store and spoke to the same woman and asked her for the bike. I explained I need to inspect the bike to make sure the work was completed. When I expressed this, the woman's body language shut down and became defensive. When I turned over my son's bike, I notice that the wheel was not aligned and showed her the issue. She told me in an aggressive and condescending tone, "That does not matter!". I explained that I needed the bike repair to be corrected or I will be back in a month. She briskly walked to the back of the store and explained my concern to the repairman. I said, "I am happy to explain the issue, and she exclaimed, "I GOT IT!". After a few minutes she returned to the front of the store I practically yelled at me, "We made the repair that you requested". I explained that I followed the recommendation of the repairman and if that does not work, I needed other action to remedy the issue. At this point she became practically hostile and started telling me that she rode her bike every day and took care of it properly, and that such an issue is caused when children do not take care of their bike. Short of wanting to be an aggressive parent and put her in her place, I said I appreciate she is a professional bicycle rider, but kids are not necessarily as careful. At this point the other owner came to the front and said the repair would be done properly. I asked if I should come back and I was told no, it would only be a few minutes. I asked the woman, who failed to give her name, if she was the owner, and she confirmed that she was one of the owners.In the meantime, the woman owner was acting pleasantly with a potential customer looking at a $2,400 road bike. So here it is, I will never be back. I cannot tolerate being spoken to by an individual in the position of ownership treating customers the way she did. It does not matter if in this instance if I spent $12 or $1,200; you do not know if down the road I will spent a significant amount of money in your store. Due to this, the business failed me. My advice, either treat all your customer the same way, or do not cater to minor bicycle repairs. For the record, I have a $3,000 mountain bike that needs tuning up, and I have friends that mountain bike as well. You will not be receiving business from my friends or myself in the future based on the way you spoke to me, referred to my son as being irresponsible or just not being a kind human being during such awful times as now read more

you know how sometimes, you try to go a mechanic, and they dont tell it to you straight, like whats actually wrong with your stuff and a strong recommendation on what to do next. They pray for suckers like that. well, ive been running flats on my mountain bike that i commute short distances with, and turned to CBS for relief. Thats not what i got, i got a person who recommended the worst tire option for my bike just to get rid of his shelf inventory. Then he replaced my 26"inch tubes and put 28" inch tubes in my bike that was compatible for only 26" dimension gear. Wow i got screwed because one bike trip later, i have one of the hugest holes in my tube without a thorn in trace. not sure where all the 5 stars are coming from. read more

I'm a former runner who had to switch to biking due to an injury. I was gifted an old bike and brought it to CBS Cycling to get it tuned up and check if anything was broken, etc. Not only was it ready same-day and working great, they even talked me out of buying some of their accessories since I was just getting started and some items I was asking about were advanced. They'll be getting a lot more of my business as my journey into cycling (hopefully) continues. read more

Have to update this review. I was initially impressed by the service I received at CBS, but after only weeks of riding my freshly tuned up bike, it has completely fallen apart. Worst tune up of my life. The rear wheel was not well tightened and I had to re tighten it myself immediately after returning home from the bike shop. I also had issues with the bike staying in gear and shifting properly. Three weeks after the tune up, my rear derailleur cable snapped, rendering the bike unridable. I brought my bike into Incycle to have the cable fixed, they tuned it up on the spot and charged me $25 for parts and labor. When I asked why the cable broke, they pointed out several issues (loose bolts, missing pieces etc.) that contributed to the issue, all of which were not an issue prior to the tune up. Do not take your bike here. read more

Unfortunately... I didn't know that CBS Cycling existed until about a month ago. I have had at least a half dozen "horrible" experiences at one of the bigger, more popular local bike shops... primarily their Repair Shop. Most recently I brought my bike to this "other shop" because I was having "shifting issues". I was told that it was going to cost over $600 dollars to replace components... and get the bike back into working order. It is an older road bike and I wasn't about to pay that much money to repair it. I picked it up and considered donating it to someone that might be able to use it. It has sat in my garage until today. Prior to that, I had been having issues with my rear brake on my mountain bike. Long story short, I had taken my bike to this "other shop" AT LEAST 4 times... maybe 5 to fix the SAME issue. They would "fix it" and my brakes would go out half way through my next ride. This went on for months. I finally found CBS online... and decided to give them a shot. My first experience was with "Vito" (hope I spelled his name right). This guy was FANTASTIC... Extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I got there about an hour before they closed and was planning on dropping my mountain bike off to fix my brake issue. He stated that he had some time and threw it up on the bench to check it out. He explained everything to me that he was doing, while he was doing it and made some suggestions for things that he saw that in the near future that may require some additional maintenance. Probably my best experience in a bike shop to date. I walked out of their in an hour, bike in hand.... and have not had an issue with my brakes since. Today, I decided on a whim to take my road bike there to see what the damage was... I was going to either fix it or give it away... I was tired of staring at it in my garage. $49 dollars and a few hours later (NOT $600!), I walked out bike in hand, repaired.... and a big smile on my face (even though they couldn't see it because of my face covering)! Two spectacular experiences. I can not recommend this place enough! Especially during these tough times. I didn't catch the ladies name that helped me today, but I told her about my great experiences at their shop. She was very great full and simply said that we try to help people because we know that they want to get back on their bikes! Please share and support this local business. Rob read more

Why didn't I know about these guys before?! OMG, I have a new favorite bike shop for all my upgrades, maintenance and repairs now!!! I needed a rear wheel replacement for my Marin Rift Zone 3 mtb. I also wanted a tuneup on the bike. These guys did an amazing job and turned it out same day! Try getting another shop to do that. Their prices were also incredible. The woman at the counter was super helpful and friendly. She took the time to help me understand a few things about my bike and the upgrade I was getting. I will be taking my bike back in a couple weeks to upgrade the front rim and put some wider, tubeless Maxxis Minions on the bike. So happy I found this shop. I really felt like they cared about me and my bike. They are the only shop in Santa Clarita that ever took the time to ask me about my recent rides, where I ride and what type of riding I do. They have pretty quality products, but in terms of customer service I wouldn't say it's the best. I had to wait at the store for over an hour waiting for the guy mess with the guy I was trying to buy because he kept going back and forth working on other people's bike that came in after me. Initially, I wouldn't say it's not the most friendliest store, but I think if you become a regular here it will be ok. He seems to be on quite good terms with the regulars. I was supposed to pick up my bike the next day and I came in and it wasn't done so... If the customer service was a bit better it would be a better experience. read more

CBS is a trustworthy place to take your bike in for a tuneup/repair in SCV. I thought I had a problem with a crank bearing but Paul got it sorted out along with a tune-up, without needing additional parts, and turned it around quickly. Terrific! Definitely recommended. read more

I purchased a bike on consignment from CBS and Paul was super friendly and accommodating.
