Prior to even acquiring my car, I had been in talks with Chris regarding a couple projects I had coming up. Once the time came, I brought in my BMW X3 M to get full frontal PPF and Opti-Coat Pro Plus ceramic coating for the rest of the vehicle. AMAZING SERVICE First of all, I left extremely satisfied and happy. Chris is a very knowledge and reliable person when it comes to car detailing (paint, PPF, etc)... he knows his stuff and is definitely a car enthusiast. There aren't many certified detail shops who can install PPF (as in not everyone can do it and not everyone can do it well). After some research and chatting with some car enthusiasts, I eventually want to go the PPF route and start off with installing it on my headlights. Initially when I called CE Detail it was for detailing and asked about headlight restoration. They can do headlight restoration + install Xpel or Suntek PPF (different brands but no difference) which is why the service is pricier then those shops that just do headlight restoration. The service takes an average 3hrs but the investment and the quality is all worth it. When I returned to the shop my headlights looked crystal clear and the PPF on the headlights looked amazing. You can't even tell it's installed. They did such a great job! I don't have to worry about reoxidization for a decade. He complimentary washed and buffed around my car - my side markers were evening shining like no tomorrow (Don't worry, I will be back for full detailing in a few weeks). I have never let anyone detail my cars in the past as I am very particular. I have always done it myself because I find it therapeutic (I've got tons of high end detailing products, foam cannons, etc) and I have had space to do so. I recently moved to a residence where I do not have a place to detail my car and I was looking to get my new truck ceramic coated. Best High-End Detail in San Diego! Our Tesla was following a gardening truck on Interstate 15 that lost it's load of grasses and tree debris... and ended up all over our hood. Something Chris probably doesn't remember, 3 years ago I had him look at another one of my cars which had been egged. He was one of a couple of detailers to look at it and he was the only one who flat out said it would be a waste of money to try and do anything other than have the panel repainted by a quality shop. He didn't try to sell a service which wasn't needed and wasn't going to do anything other than deteriorate the paint more. That honesty stuck with me so when I bought a new to me Long Beach Blue M2 he was my go to guy. The car was in great shape for a used car with slightly under 30k miles. I just wanted years of easier maintenance on my new X3's finish, but it's not a show-car or anything. I was looking for a shop to do some strategic XPel film, Opti-coat, and the best possible paint correction. Really, you're paying for the shop, the skills, and the attention put into your car. Anyone can shake a bottle of chemicals, but it's the prep work and consistency that makes it worth the money. I saw the work Chris's team did on a coworkers car, and it was impressive. Nice clean shop, excellent communication, professional, and easy to work with. Chris had the patience to work through at least five quotes to get dialed into what I was looking for. There was no upsell, no shortcuts, just solid info from a guy who loves cars. All appointments kept and estimates were right-on. Their standards of quality are high indeed. The complicated compound curves around the grill and lights came out flawless. An entire film panel was completely replaced when they noticed a small pinchmark. I received several recommendations after asking around for a paint correction + ceramic coating shop in SD but CE Detail was mentioned the most number of times with the most praise, so I went with Chris. From just talking with him over the phone you can tell he is an earnest, stand-up guy. After speaking with Chris he explained to me the coating options, how correction works on new paint and took the time to answer all of my questions. I even called after business hours and he still answered my questions. Chris even agreed to arrange a way to get my vehicle to his shop without having to drive over, saving my time which was a great service. He did a great job on the paint correction and the coating was done very well. We inspected the car at my friend's shop under industrial grade lighting and the work was flawless and very consistent throughout the car. I never knew about the science or complexity behind making a car "shiny" but Chris is an artist. There was a small hiccup along the way from a task that was outsourced to a 3rd party. Amazing is an understatement! I am confident that my experience will convince you to come here. I was driving on the freeway near construction in the rain and what I thought was a bunch of mud splattered on my car. I was flying out of town shortly thereafter so I figured I would wash the car when I returned. Unfortunately when I washed the car, only some of it came off. Then, stupidly, I tried to scrub it off myself and was not only wildly unsuccessful, I also scratched my car so terribly. I realized then that the splatter was likely concrete or plaster and that I should have filed a claim with my insurance company as a roadside hazard, but by then I had already done so much of the damage myself. I reached out to Chris and explained the situation and he said he would need to test a patch before he could let me know if he and his team could help. My boyfriend brought in the car, they did a test patch, and felt that they could get some of it off. We left the car with Chris all day and he gave me regular updates on the progress and price and even offered to send me photos as they were working to see if I wanted them to continue. Chris told us that they couldn't get the car to be perfect and that there was still some plaster on it, but honestly, I can't even tell! (which shows that their standards are very high). It looks absolutely fantastic to me and everyone I've shown has been so impressed. My car is 6 years old and the only day it looked this good was the day I bought it new. Check out the photos! My only regret is that I didn't photograph the scratches I made and the clear coat I scrubbed away, because what CE detail was able to do with my car is phenomenal. 5 Big Ole Stars Plus Some! I've been using CE detail for many years, since they were a mobile detail way back like 15 yrs ago. Why I've never reviewed is beyond me... but today, Chris and his team outdid themselves! I contacted Chris to get an opti coat treatment on my car. The car is a brand new 2 yr old car that had been sitting at a dealership since 2015. #vwdieselgate I was stoked to get my hands a VW TDI golfsportwagen after they were re-released, but since it had been sitting and getting stealership washes, the paint was far from perfect. We're talking scratches, little chips, and some swirl on a really pretty Metallic Midnight blue. So those little blemishes really showed up on a dark color. Now, I'm a total car enthusiast. I hand wash my cars, take super care of them (yes I have mutiple) and notice all those tiny things that some peeps may not. So it was only a matter of time that I would give it to Chris to let him do what he does best. The opti coat process takes a couple days, and during the time they had my car, Chris communicated with me every step of the way. He sent photos of before/after shots, and even sent a video once it was all done. Buffed out the scratches and swirls, touched up the chips, and the opti makes the car look ah-freaking-mazing! Hellooo brand new car! It looks 100 times better than it did when I drove it off the lot! You know someone is going to provide excellent service when they truly love doing what they do. Chris is flat out awesome and the work he does is impeccable. He's super professional, communicates incredibly well, and a really nice guy which makes being a customer that much easier. Unlike a lot of the detailers in SD, he has a fixed location, and it's a very nice one at that. Details: He was able to fit me in last minute because of some scheduling changes on my end and was accommodating with very reasonable turn around times given that I had called 5 minutes before closing to bring my car in the next day. He was super responsive in answering any questions I had regarding the paint correction work he did on my car or any questions regarding the Opti Coat Pro that was applied. I brought him a new car off the lot and what was returned to me was an even newer car. Just a spotless finish. I'm genuinely impressed with how much better my car looks. I didn't think a new car could look that much better, but it does. The thing that impressed me the most was how good of a communicator Chris is. He was very responsive to all of my questions, and I had a lot of them. When the car needed work prior to applying the Opti-Coat Pro, he was very clear on what he recommended, but did not press to make the additional sale. He also provided me with updates to when the car would be ready on a regular basis. Lastly, his work area is super clean. Chris and Andrew are by far the best detailers. Chris applied Opti-Coat to my Camaro one year ago and did an impeccable job. I get compliments all the time at how shiny and new my paint job looks. A couple of weeks ago, the sprinklers sprayed the side of my car and left hard water spots that I could not get off. The first person I called was Chris, and within a few days I had an appointment.
