We would have eaten breakfast there but they had people working on their ovens. So we got coffee to go. We sat outside at one of the picnic tables in the woods. First, the coffee was divine. I had an iced latte and the coffee flavor just punched through the milk. SO good. Second the shop was very cute inside and super nice counter staff. Plus the outside seating in a very woodsy little spot, complete with a creek bed nearby, was delightfully northern Minnesota! Highly recommend!

It was nice to be back here! A good experience, but nothing exceptional. It seems like they recently updated to Panera bread style pagers which is cool, but even though they gave us one, when our order was ready they just called my name the old fashioned way. They had some cool new artwork up for sale, and the coffee was still good. It's definitely still a place worth checking out.

This place has been popping up all over my for you page so as we made our way up north we decided to stop. It was about an hour before closing so wasn't busy at all which was nice. The outdoor space is beautiful and the main reason I wanted to check it out. Lots of table in and outside, pet friendly too! Unfortunately, my coffee was just okay. I added caramel syrup since I prefer a sweeter drink, but I couldn't really taste the caramel.

My coffee was amazing. I decided to come here after searching up coffee shops in the area. It's attached next to a bike shop and has outdoor seating. However, it was super cold so I opted to go inside. They had a good menu with plenty of drink and food options. I got a latte with a breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was good, however I felt the English muffin had too much butter and couldn't finish it. Other than that, I enjoyed my visit there.

Cedar Coffee Company is such a gem of a coffee shop, tucked into the woods with a peaceful patio and large windows that flood the space with natural light. The drinks are delicious, the cardamom latte was especially good and they also offer baked goods and ice cream, which is a fun bonus. A cozy, welcoming spot that feels perfectly in tune with its North Shore setting.

Amazing coffee shop. Big windows from floor to ceiling that let in a ton of natural light, and views of the surrounding cedar forest (with trails that you can snowshoe and bike). A canoe hanging from the ceiling. Several people working on their laptops. Great atmosphere. I got a chai and my girlfriend got a coffee and croissant. All were perfect. Staff were super friendly. This coffee shop shares a roof with a bike shop that sells, rents and repairs bikes, so if you're passionate about bikes, this is the place for you.

Had been wanting to try out this "coffee shop in the woods" for awhile and it did not disappoint. The food was so good and fresh and made to order. We tried the red hash and cranberry turkey sandwich. Highly recommend both although the hash did have a bit of kick to it so just be aware of that! The brown sugar + rosemary latte was so good. All of their syrups were homemade except for the SF vanilla. They also had smoothies, beer and wine, and plenty of breakfast and lunch options. There was a fire going outside and plenty of seating inside with free wifi. Really liked the atmosphere there. It's connected to a bike shop and by a trail so you can head there before or after you're food and drinks! Very friendly and fast service. Will definitely be making this a north shore staple!

Came here with a few friends for breakfast and coffee before heading to gooseberry. This whole place was fantastic, from the outdoor woodsy seating, friendly staff, yummy bacon roll up, coffee, and the stuff you could buy at the shop, EVERYTHING was great. The perfect pre-hike or post-hike stop. Hoping to come back soon!

I loved this more modern coffee shop that was also rustic and hidden in the woods into harbors. They are in the same building as a bike rental company, which makes for a very fun pair. They have great parking as well as a wooded back patio with plenty of seating.

Gotta love their dog friendly patio, yummy smoothies and warm breakfast. Ordered 2 smoothies with my partner, one is peanut butter banana, and the other is blueberry yogurt and maple syrup. The two breakfast sandwiches we had were also great. Sarnie and croissant sandwich. I enjoyed the beautiful breakfast view.

We came at the right time as it got busy after we arrived. They do have indoor and outdoor seating. Also, they have trails in the area. As I was walking in, someone was walking out with a Pup cup, which I think is great. They allow pups on the patio. The people are SO nice. And the coffee was SO good. I would totally go back and would recommend it. Note they do not have almond milk or suagr free carmel flavor.

This coffee shop is a real gem in Two Harbors. The coffee is good and the staff friendly, but the best part part is the relaxing ambience of enjoying coffee at the wood tables under the cedar trees out back. The Wi-Fi is pretty good for remote work. Also, I spilled my coffee (total clutz, whoops) and they were kind enough to offer me a free refill.

Stopped by CCC before heading back to HTX and they definitely lived up to their overall 5 star rating. We tried the half and half cookie which was soft, chewy and the perfect amount of sweet. I ordered the mocha frappe which was a little stronger than i expected, but again I'm used to sugary Starbucks drinks haha. The ambience was very chill and ~hipsterish~. Staff was very friendly and our drinks took all of about 5 minutes to come out. Will definitely have to come back when we visit MN again! read more

What a great find! My husband and I discovered this place while out looking for a good cup of coffee and a little breakfast on our journey home after a beautiful weekend up North celebrating our wedding anniversary. I highly recommend everyone make this a destination stop when you are on the North Shore. 1. The coffee is fantastic. My husband had a cappuccino and then another one to go. 2. The croissant with jam was scrumptious. 3. The atmosphere was fun and engaging and the owners were warm and welcoming. 4. The bike shop rents bikes for the day or half day. 5. There are biking/walking trails right out the front door. Good luck to the owners on your new adventure. We will see you when we are up again this summer. read more

This is probably the best coffee shop - interior and coffee - I have been too. I make it my goal to go to as many as I can because I love the atmosphere and this place had amazing food and coffee! We also had our dog in the back on the patio and everyone was so friendly. Highly recommend!! read more

I live in Houston but I still dream of this coffee that I enjoyed on a recent vacation up to the north shore. Best coffee I've had in my whole life, hands down. Nice, kinda fruity fresh espresso that isn't burnt and excellent food to boot. The wraps use a lavash bread that's super good. My favorite coffee drink is the Miel latte. It's honey flavored so slightly sweet. Keep on keeping on, y'all. read more

Love it. So, coffee shops are pretty-simple-seeming things. Right? It is pretty easy to do a passable, say three-star, job. It takes a lot to earn the next star -- you've got to have better product, or atmosphere, or staff. Five stars? You need to exceed expectations start to finish. This is the case at Cedar Coffee Company. We enjoyed a great latte served by a friendly, competent, staff. We were meeting family, and when they arrived we ordered lunch. Ordered a cortado. A cortado is a perfectly pulled shot of espresso with warmed milk added in a heavy bottomed glass to prevent spillage. What I was given was a small latte. Their espresso machine needs recalibrated as the shot was pulled with too low pressure so the it died like a cheap Starbucks pull. They added milk foam and put it in a 3oz coffee mug which resulted in spillage. I always use the cortado to gauge a coffee shop's quality and this was a terrible impression. 2 stars as the atmosphere is nice. read more

Go here! It is amazing. Just past the Super One foods tucked in the woods. Off the beaten path, yet on the bike trail. Attached to a bike shop, they have a large outdoor dining area with a solo fire pit. There is a creek that runs through the property and a long walking trail through the woods. Drinks were good. read more

My husband and I stopped in on our way home from a weekend up north. The staff were super friendly. We ordered the breakfast nachos and the brussel sprout hash dish. Both were delicious!! We had an americano and a macadamian nut milk hot chocolate. They had hammocks in the trees and benches and a fire pit out back in their wooded property. The location is perfect and the cafe reminded us of our travels to Colorado. Very cool. We will be back! read more

What a great find off of the highway! Cool vibe, great food and delicious coffee. Friendly owners and staff. We may stay for lunch and a beer! No need to eat or drink anywhere else in the area. A must in Two Harbors. Wonderful selection of coffee, breakfast and lunch items. Caramel Latte with homemade caramel and mocha with homemade coca were amazing! Absolutely picturesque sipping a Cuban coffee while watching the snow fall among the pine trees :) Also, looks like a great summer spot to have a coffee, wine or Castle Danger brew and sit by the fire outside. read more

We stopped here before a day of hiking and it was just what we needed to get us all set for the trail. Set back in the north woods, this hip little cafe has a beautiful atmosphere and some great service. I had a latte, my wife had the oatmeal, and the kids had breakfast sandwiches. Everything was perfect and surprisingly quick. If you're near two harbors I strongly recommend checking this place out. read more

We had to checkout this spot. We were all impressed how they kept the customers safe from covid. Staff were masked and the tables were separate, unfortunately it was raining when we go there, but we survived. All the food was amazing, we already had our coffee so we didn't sample it here. We had bacon roll up which was great! The alt breakfast sandwich, breakfast burrito, croissant sandwich, and a scone! All amazing read more

Best espresso! Love supporting small places like this, went to Starbucks on my way home from Duluth (vacation), I ordered an iced latte, tasted like plain milk. There was ZERO espresso, well maybe alittle but it did not taste like Cedar Coffee Co's iced lattes! read more

Meet the Business Owner: Dan C.

Dan is a co-founder of Granite Gear. This shop is the next adventure in his life. Together with his wife Kirsten they run Cedar Coffee Company, Spokengear Cyclery and Outdoor as well as Cedaero bicycle bag manufacturing all under the same roof. Their mission is to build community around bikes, coffee and adventure.

Located…read moreconveniently in the center of Canal Park, we stopped by on a sunny Wednesday early afternoon, hoping to score some of the best sandwiches in town. Even though this was well past lunch time at 2PM, the outside patio was packed and there was a line of 10 people or so to contend with to order at the register. Due to how busy it was, our food took about 20 minutes to arrive. The Squealy Dan, Porketta ($16) - Unlike most other restaurants with Iron Range Porketta, Northern Waters slices their porketta thinly instead of pulling the pork apart. It has a pleasant spiced flavor and the texture feels as if it's cured rather than roasted. It's relatively tender, and while they give a decent amount of meat, it's completely overshadowed by the heavy spicy quality of the black pepper and the acidity and vegetalness of the crunchy pepperoncini. There's a bit of melted gooey provolone on top of the porketta. While nice, there's not enough to balance out the peppers. This is all on a crusty almost baguette-like hero roll, toasty and warm. The sandwich is served with a side dip that's essentially black pepper and pepperoncini water. Definitely not needed given how overwhelming those elements are in the sandwich. (3/5) Pastrami Mommy ($19) - I haven't had bison pastrami before. Now I know why it's not very common - it's way too lean and dry compared to beef pastrami. Still, it's nicely spiced and peppery, and there's not much of the bison gamey flavor since it's cooked out from the curing. There's a little bit of mayo underneath and some mustard on top, but it's not enough moisture or fat in my opinion to counteract the leanness of the bison. While there are some slices of provolone above the meat, they are served cold. I feel like melting it with the pastrami on the griddle would do wonders to help develop some more unctuousness. It's also served on cold rye - perhaps toasting with some butter would also help. Otherwise, the sandwich is just too dry and lean for my tastes. (3/5) I feel like I ordered the wrong items. I probably should have gone with some of the seafood sandwiches, but I found it strange they only serve Atlantic salmon rather than local lake fish. In the end, I appreciate that Northern Waters Smokehaus makes most of their meats in house, but after trying their food, I feel like it's more hype than substance. This is the absolute best place to get coffee on the North Shore. BUT they are not only coffee! Cedar's food menu is delicious and although it's not as expansive as it was before covid, there is something for everyone. The staff is amazing and always cheerful even on their crazy busy days! So much so, I really considered opening a small independent coffee shop. Therefore, it goes without saying, I know about coffee--from soil to hot cup with cream. So when women entrepeneurs were showcased that morning, City Girl Coffee got my attention. Especially when she said beans are roasted and ground the same day. And she talked about the history of the parent company Alakef Coffee; a company started by her father because he wanted a good cup of coffee. Since I was running out of coffee and taking a trip to the Costco for my coffee takes planning and a 20 minute drive, I decided to give a go to Alakef. The worst that would happen is that the coffee was okay and I would freeze it as my emergency stash. The best, I would have a great cup of coffee. So I ordered a bag of French Roast (I like strong, dark coffee) and waited for its arrival. My coffee arrive the next week and I ordered ground because the convienence. When I sipped that first cup, I knew. Fresh roast, smooth taste, no bitter notes and great taste. Gentle but good coffee. Nothing harsh. My subscription for French Roast and Brazil ordered. My husband stopped drinking coffee about 3 years ago joined me in a cup--he takes his black. He vowed to get up in the morning and join me for coffee. Take aways: 1. If you like coffee and want the convience of home delivery give it a try. Subscription would cost you less than take out coffee anyday. 2. Smooth and not bitter coffee. The dark roast is not like Starbucks bold-gentle smooth taste without the harshness. 3. French Presh will yield the best flavor. Good luck and enjoy the coffee.
