Pick this place to pick up some breakfast food. On a Saturday morning around 11 AM. I'm glad I called in because they were very busy, but after getting some of the food, I very much understand why. Emily was very sweet and patient with me on the phone while I was ordering. Biscuit and gravy 5/10, I don't think it was that great, the gravy flavor was not my favorite, but the biscuit was ok. I also picked this location because I had seen the patty melt and a lot of pictures and I thought it was very interesting and appetizing. It would probably also taste really good if you added an egg into the sandwich. As a breakfast sandwich. 8/10 they even ask how you want it cooked. If I have to definitely recommend something, it would be the pancakes! 10/10 super fluffy, and thick pee probably the most favorite pancakes I've had. FOOD -Chicken fried steak with gravy - my husband read that the gravy was mild but he didn't think so, he thought it was good. -I had a "Build own omelette" with cheddar cheese, spinach green onions and peppers. Potatoes were legit delicious SERVICE It was a busy Saturday morning at 9am. I think we arrived right at the rush and there were 2 servers handling everyone with 2 busers who got waters/drink orders. I think the operation would have moved faster if they had the busers assisting the servers more. Many people were waiting for to-go boxes, their checks, to place orders and the busers were also waiting around while the servers ran around. We ended up just going up to the counter to check out since our server seemed overwhelmed and busy. AMBIANCE It has a small town vibe with family heirlooms on the wall. I don't know how much they clean the benches because there was food crumbs in between the cushions and wood benches. Check this place out if you are in the area!! We arrived in the area a few hours before this business closed for the day and we were hungry. We figured a nice deli would be a good spot for lunch. At first, we weren't sure if the business was already closed for the day because all of the tables outside were already put away and the windows looked dark. We walked in and it was almost full. There are many typical options from the deli shop such as sandwiches, salads, soups, half and half combos, etc. There were also specials on the wall such as spaghetti. Steven ordered the BLT with Mac salad (the bacon looked nice and crispy, which is perfect) and I had the half soup and half sandwich. I ordered split pea soup which ended up being full of flavor and delicious. You only get three sandwich options of you do the half and half. (I forgot what the other two were) But I had the cold turkey. I didn't expect much from a cold turkey sandwich but I was impressed. It tasted fresh and delicious. The staff was great. They are all constantly helping each other and the gentleman who was helping serve had me chuckling numerous times with silly jokes or comments. My friends and I had such an amazing experience! From the moment we walked in, we felt so welcomed and taken care of. Our waiter Cameron was absolutely the best. We love coming here for breakfast whenever we are up in Lake Arrowhead. All the staff is so friendly it really feels like they put their thought and care into their customer service. The restaurant gives that small town diner feel so you know it feels homey. Food is good you get big portions. This time we had the country combo and we split it and even with us splitting it we couldn't finish. So you definitely get your moneys worth with a plate here. Wow! This place is amazing! My husband and I came here because it's one of the few places in town that is open before 11 on a weekday and it did not disappoint. My husband got the steak and eggs and I got the tuna salad. Both were big portions and great pricing. We also got the zucchini fries, they are a must. They were freshly cut and freshly deep fried. What a find! We were in the gift shop a few stores over and asked if Cedar Glen Inn was good. Yes! So my daughter and granddaughter ate there yesterday. I believe there will be many more meals here in the future. Excellent BLTA sandwich with fruit for me and a turkey sandwich with fries for my daughter. There's a full children's menu also. Over the years I have eaten here well over 100 times and haven't been a lot lately because the food quality has gone downhill and they close early at 2 PM every day. Today we decided to try breakfast and the hostess harassed me over my Service dog. I told her that we have been there over 100 times and that everybody else knew me and her response was she didn't know me and I had to answer her questions or I couldn't eat there. Went today meet up with family and the place is small and was packed, real cute and small like a normal coffee shop from the 60s and 70s. Service was not so good we got greated by a grumpy lady in a dirty sweater and she seemed bothered to take our order. The cooks in the kitchen that you could see thru the food window were standing there eating while cooking food. The eggs were cooked wrong and our biscuits and gravy were broke in pieces and super dry like we got the remains of what was left and barely had any gravy the bacon tasted old and reheated our server never checked back on us and instead stood at the coffee counter talking to a lady with a baby the whole time. FYI: It's not an "inn" but rather a cute diner-ish restaurant in a strip mall (as others have mentioned in their reviews). There's also outdoor patio seating which they said is pet friendly. They offer champagne brunch until 2:00PM which comes with 1) a muffin 2) Two HEFTY glasses of champagne OR one hefty glass of mimosa 3) choice of entree, which includes cheesy potatoes. ALL FOR $15.99!!! I mean that's an incredible deal. Their portions are also HUGE!!! My favorite was the muffin but my husband loved his traditional eggs benedicts and the Balboa french toast (deep fried french toast with cream cheese in between, comes with choice of strawberry or blueberry sauce). I grew up a local here, and this place is the absolute essential local restaurant. My parents still frequently (like 2-3 times a week) have breakfast here - we're devastated that they recently discontinued dinner service, but I do think breakfast is where they really shine. Disclaimer: no Michelin stars here, so if you're looking for trendy or creative, this ain't the place. What it is, is the quintessential mom and pop, local spot. They serve the basics, homestyle, for reasonable prices and the service is fast, friendly and the staff know the place and the menu inside out. Some of the staff have been there 30+ years, and there's always someone's niece or son's friend working there part time during high school or college. They know everything that's going on locally and seasonally. It's the type of place where they'll top off your coffee several times a meal, no matter if they're your server or not. You're surrounded by vintage photos of the Village when it was just built, the lake theoughout the years, a super old CRT TV, the owners' photos of the youth sports teams they coached or their kids played on. The decór is classic, old wood and booths - but the huge wall of windows keeps it bright and cozy inside. The food, like I said, is no-frills basics, in portions that will stick to your ribs AND give leftovers in most cases. No microwaves here, you can see into the kitchen and nothing stays under the heat lamp for more than 60 seconds before coming to your table. I usually opt for the oatmeal (with fixings) and coffee, but the Country Combo could happily feed a small nation for several days. Best part: you know your money stays local.
