    Breakfast

Very friendly service and solid breakfast food. Everything we had was good with the exception of the biscuits which felt very dry. The French toast combo was perfect: French toast, eggs and bacon or sausage. You can get a half or full order of French toast. The chicken fried steak was good, but the gravy was a little bland. I still enjoyed the meal. FYI: If you are a fan of antiques, there's a wonderful antique shop in the same parking lot that opens at 10 am.

We love coming here for breakfast whenever we are up in Lake Arrowhead. All the staff is so friendly it really feels like they put their thought and care into their customer service. The restaurant gives that small town diner feel so you know it feels homey. Food is good you get big portions. This time we had the country combo and we split it and even with us splitting it we couldn't finish. So you definitely get your moneys worth with a plate here. Sunday's they have muffins so definitely get one if you happen to eat here in Sunday. Yummy food for a spot in the mountains they're usually hard to find but this is a gem.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to get a picture of our food but everything was amazing. Service was great. Our coffee cups never went empty. Our server checked in on us but not too much where you'd always get caught mid bite. The food itself was good and flavorful. The place wasn't too loud as it was still a little early. But it's a diner, I can see it being a little loud which I'm fine with. It was a bit darker but it added a nice vibe to the place. If in the area again we will definitely be coming back. We're big breakfast people and this place was everything we wanted and more !

Wow! This place is amazing! My husband and I came here because it's one of the few places in town that is open before 11 on a weekday and it did not disappoint. My husband got the steak and eggs and I got the tuna salad. Both were big portions and great pricing. We also got the zucchini fries, they are a must. They were freshly cut and freshly deep fried. We also got a fruit salad and it was all fresh and good quality. The service was good and fast. The ambiance is mountain cafe, super cute and warm. I highly recommend this place, it's by far one of the best places in town for fresh and good ingredients. They also serve wine, beer, and champagne!

Service continues to be wonderful. The teas are unique and flavorful. Food has not changed. Delicious and freshly made to order. Servers are kind and restaurant was clean. Love this place and will continue to return here. Hours are 7a-2p.

Still on of the mountain's best little diners - just gotta account for the early closing time.

Great spot at the lake. There was a wait when we got there for brunch, but it was well worth it! Here's where you can get some great home style eats in a small-town vibe kind of place! Highly recommend.

Great food at a reasonable price. The service is what stood out the most. The people are so hospitable here. Will be back if I'm in the area again!

Vintage dinnerware adorns the walls, the curtains are straight out of grandma's house. You get the vibe! It was Memorial Day weekend, so there was a bit of a wait to be seated, about 30 minutes. We killed the time by getting some excellent Bloody Marys at Jetties, just a few steps away. After being seated, the service was super fast. We got our food maybe 10 minutes after ordering, and the place was packed. The kitchen was really hustling. Food: Wife got the Little Breakfast, as usual. Waffle was nice and light, bacon was crispy, eggs cooked over easy, as ordered. Our two friends ordered from opposite ends of the spectrum. He got the Mountain Breakfast, which is a tremendous amount of food. Eggs, biscuits, sausage gravy, potatoes, etc. I'm not sure how he finished it. She got just a single waffle. But she enjoyed it. Finally, I went rogue, skipped breakfast and got the Reuben and Onion Rings. It was a sloppy sandwich but had plenty of corned beef, sauerkraut and Swiss. Very tasy. The onion rings were better than I expected, lightly battered and crunchy. Also got a Bloody Mary here, which was nowhere near as good as the ones at Jetties. But the Waffle Works doesn't use real vodka, so I kind of expected that. In the end, a good time and satisfying meal. A ding for the crowdedness and value, and it's good food--not great. A little over $100 for the four of us, which is more than I like to spend for breakfast. But still, we will be back!

A tasty thick malt sounded amazing, especially if the business is kind of known for it with many options. I had not had a malt in so long. I kept wondering when we could find a window to squeeze this in. We finally walked a mile over from where we stayed (a lot of this was uphill so that was rough for me) and we plopped down, ready for our malts. I ordered a rocky road malt and Steven ordered a chocolate chip malt. The server was surprised at the easy order she received as we did not order any food or anything. Yet, it still took some time. Finally the malts arrived, but unfortunately we were left so disappointed. Malts are supposed to be thicker than shakes, but these drinks were pretty much just melted ice cream. So, we are not sure if the orders were placed as shakes and still much more melted than other shake shops, or what happened. I felt like I was drinking melted ice cream with a spoon. Once I got through my glass, I didn't bother trying to pour more from my metal cup into the regular cup. I just started scooping from the extra stainless steel cup, hoping to save some thicker portions in there. There were a few, but not a lot. Since I was expecting a thick malt or something thicker than liquid ice cream, I devoured it pretty fast and now had a tummy ache. We tried it, but it didn't work out for us.

However the NY strip (which came recommended) had an uneven cook as seen in the photo which looks as if they did not let the steak come to room temperature before cooking. Also was very Underseasoned with a bland taste. The mashed potatoes (also pictured) was bland as well without a creamy texture as expected of mashed potatoes. No complaints about service. It's located on the ground floor of an Inn of the same name. It has an old timey, alpine look to it which really adds to the ambiance. They have a full bar, as well as booths, tables, and covered patio seating. It's pretty large inside so can host large groups as well. Our server was very sweet and all of our items arrived quickly. They don't have a very large menu, but it does have a lot of great options on it, especially for over 5000 feet above sea level. I chose one of the specials for the night which was the Black Cod. It was honestly great, cooked perfectly, and a fair portion. I enjoyed every part of it and would recommend. I also started off with the French Onion Soup and that too was great, it was a bit saltier than most versions I have back home, but still I liked it. We also ordered the Cobb Salad which was generous in portions, and we both really liked it. I was not a very big fan of the French Fries, that was the only downside of the meal. Overall, I would highly recommend this place for dinner when visiting Lake Arrowhead, especially for anyone looking for a great place for a date.

I had tried another restaurant in the past, but wanted something different. Also, let's face it, around Lake Arrowhead only, there aren't many restaurants to choose from. The rest is all fast food. I was coming from a couple of hours away and obviously wanted to make sure I had a place to have Thanksgiving dinner. Therefore, as far as rating this restaurant for its regular food, I can't do that because I went for Thanksgiving dinner only. My experience as sadly as it is to say was literally the worst I've ever had, not been mean even if it sounds that way, but it is a true statement and it doesn't make me happy to say it, but reality hurts sometimes. We walked in and I can only say, it wasn't what I would normally agree to go to, not terrible but not impressive either. Casual for sure, boots and a cowboy hat if you have it, will do the trick. We were seated right next to the bar, this is NOT a huge place to begin with, so the noise from the bar was not pleasant to begin with. We sat down and a waiter came over, he was nice at first, the menus were not given out because it was strictly Thanksgiving dinner and the copy paper already waiting for you on the table pretty much told you what you were getting. Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey/ham combo or only turkey with all its trimming that you normally eat on Thanksgiving, which it was easy to order obviously, didn't make the waiter sweat either. We told him combo for both of us. I am not kidding when I tell you that not even 5 minutes later, the dishes came to our table. I was still taking my jacket off. I get it that everything had to be ready to go and prepared to make it fast and all, but that immediately turned me off. The food itself aside from being cold, not one thing on that plate was even warm, the presentation was absolutely awful, I still say and believe that had I gone to Dennys, they probably would have done a much better job and not charge $40 dollars a plate and already added 20% tip to it either. The food literally looked nothing like you would expect from a restaurant like this. It wasn't a dump!!! It wasn't attractive to me, but it was a restaurant, nevertheless. That food was simply disgusting. The plate came filled with everything that looked store bought from their not even market but like a 7/11 in the city. Filled with disgusting and totally salty gravy, not homemade of course, and it was which it wasn't, the chef or cook had a lot of fun with the salt or dropped it in it by mistake, that's how salty it was. The mashed potatoes awful, cold, not soft, have no idea what was in it, came in a made round ball, by the way everything on one plate, ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, a tiny bit of greens, wherever those two tiny balls of orange things were, a tiny bit of cranberry in a tiny plastic container, a small piece of bread. All just thrown on this plate that honestly made me sick to even look at it. Been Thanksgiving and all, we waited to eat knowing it was going to be quite a bit of food, so we were hungry. My girlfriend literally couldn't eat it. She had a bit of the turkey while trying to find it underneath all that disgusting gravy and she said that it was the only thing that tasted ok, the ham was just as bad as the rest of the stuff on top of it. She literally had three bites of it, that was it. I had more because I was hungry and there was no other place to go unless we wanted to go to McDonald which after that meal, would have been a much better choice and a lot cheaper. My girlfriend had no dinner basically and I had what I was able to eat, but it was just bad. To top it off, came the pie. Now, my girlfriend loves pumpkin pie, I do as well, she makes the best pie from scratch. Two pumpkin pies came. Again, what on earth were those pies, we still discussing it, how can you go wrong with pumpkin pies, well, this place managed to do so. We even asked them what on earth these pies were and the waiter simply said "it's pumpkin pie", no it's not we clearly said back, but he just kept saying it was and that was it. We both couldn't eat it and left it. No one ever came around through our dinner to ask if everything was ok, no one asked us if we needed more to drink, nothing. $115 dollars. The tip was already included as I mentioned that it clearly said on the menu at the end of it that 20% was going to be included. This dinner was worth and only if you were totally desperate, $10 dollars a plate MAX. The waiter did not deserve his tip as he did nothing for it, the only time we saw him was of course to bring us the check. Worst experience ever, never again at this place, I don't even think I would take a chance on their regular menu after this.
