    Garlic Naan

Cedars has been one of my all time favorite spots in the u-district! They seriously have the best garlic naan. The workers are super nice and I love that they have some parking spaces ready for you. We love the space inside. And get excited because they're moving to a new location soon on Roosevelt!

I came with some friends and we shared a giant naan (not super garlicky but pretty tasty), a chicken Rogan josh (yum) and a tandoori surprise- I think the chicken tandoori was the best so next time I would just get that one since it's also cheaper! I really appreciate that they have parking :) behind their establishment. The mango lassi was excellent! And it was served in a fun jar vessel. I'd say overall pretty good, it's def one of those $25-30/person kind of places so not cheap, but also maybe kind of standard these days in seattle.

Forgot how great this place was! Truly this place is awesome! The staff is always kind and friendly. The ambiance is cozy and inviting with dim lighting perfect for a date night. The food was even better than I remembered! Always smells delicious walking by this restaurant and wow the food doesn't disappoint. Lamb Palak or Saag Gosht (what I know the dish as) is my all time favorite and the Lamb Palak was made perfectly! Flavor was delicious and meat was perfect. I was in flavor town and doing the happy food dance at the table it was so enjoyable. The garlic Naan was huge and delicious. I love putting the mint chutney on my Naan. So good!!! I can't wait to come back! :)

TLDR: We had an underwhelming time at Cedars. Food was overall decent but didn't stand out to me. Had a hard time with lack of service where we needed to wait a long time to order and flag our waiter down when we wanted a box and the check Food: We had the appetizer sampler (I believe its called the Tandoori Delight on the menu), Coconut Curry with chicken, and the Aloo Paratha. Personally nothing stood out to me but I did appreciate the curry came loaded with protein enough for 2 people to share 1 entree. For spice we ordered medium (2/4 stars) but wished we got medium hot (3/4 stars) Service: This was where we were most disappointed. When we came in we were sat towards the back of the restaurants with a few other parties. It seemed that everyone (including us) had a hard time getting service even though the restaurant didn't appear too busy. We waited a while to order and after we finished the staff never came so I got up and asked for a box and the check. Note: Only a few spots in their parking lot are reserved for Cedars, all other spots are paid parking or there is nearby street parking

Cherry Mango Lassi - CHERRY BLOSSOM SPECIAL

I have never been to Cedars Restaurant before even though it is a fairly popular Indian spot in the University District. Fortunately, while I was in the area during the Cherry Blossom Festival, Cedars Restaurant had a special cherry blossom themed item, the Cherry Mango Lassi. Cedars famous mango lassi, elevated with the deliciousness of cherries for a unique twist on a traditional favorite. My boyfriend LOVES mango lassi, so whenever there is a restaurant that serves mango lassi I have to get it to let him know how it is. I ordered to-go since I didn't have the time to dine-in to try other items. I hope I can return back soon to try the food here!

We always looked at that restaurant with my girlfriend and said that we should go, until today we made the decision. First of all, the atmosphere, very calm and perfect for a date. The food was delicious, we loved it very much. The price is good for the food they give plus free rice!!! The service was excellent, all the guys were always very friendly and very helpful. I recommend it 100%

Finally visited after seeing so many great reviews about Cedars! We got: Mediterranean Salad, Curry Specialties, Garlic Naan, Butter Masala, and Spinach & Paneer Naan! Everything so so delicious! And very filling! We were basically in awe of everything we ate, how well seasoned every dish was, and how we should've come sooner! Everyone was super kind and helped us get situated into our table, and we definitely will come again!

I'm not sure what happened on my last visit as the curries were on the colder side. When you arrive parking can be a bit difficult, there is a small parking lot out front, if that's full you'll need to find street park. The restaurant itself feels warm, casual, and bustling. Queen you walk in you have the option to sit on the backyard patio or in the dining room. We opted to sit in the dining room as it just felt more intimate and the vibe we were wanting for dinner. For our appetizer, we started with the Samosas (Two crispy pastries filled with your choice of freshly mixed vegetables or delicately spiced lean ground beef) which were excellent. Next we ordered the garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, and butter chicken. The naan and samosas showed up piping hot but the chicken tikka masala & butter chicken were cold. I probably should have said something as I was disappointed but was too hungry to care at that moment. If I'm in the Seattle area I may stop by Taste of India again.

I stopped by during a World Cup match, so most of the nearby bars were packed, but this restaurant was surprisingly quiet with only a few tables occupied. The décor is nice enough, but it didn't quite match the way the advertise. Unfortunately, the service was also underwhelming. It wasn't bad, but it felt pretty lackluster, especially for a restaurant at this price point. I was expecting a more polished dining experience. The food was good, but it didn't wow me. My favorite dish was the Paneer, and the kofta was also enjoyable. One thing that stood out in a negative way was the presentation. For example, when our appetizer platter arrived, some of the dishes were awkwardly stacked or hanging over one another. It seemed like a small detail, but at this price, I expected more attention to presentation. Overall, the meal was solid, but it didn't leave a lasting impression. With so many great Indian restaurants nearby, I'm not sure I'd return.

All depends on kitchen and front counter staffing and there can be a cutoff for onsite dining and just takeout is available. Buzzer can be used by the counter to request service to place your order. Hand held buzzers are used and corresponding order numbers are also called out when orders are ready. The dining room was mostly full and several other folks were awaiting takeout and delivery orders. There's a variety of seating 2 and 4 tops and tables can be easily pushed together to accomodate for groups. There's counter seating facing The Ave, as well as, reservable study & meeting rooms off to the side. Some tables could use a wipe down and the carpets could use a roomba, but it's a totally chill, no frills establishment. Overhead music was loud Indian rap. The Homie ordered a Masala chai, Jaipur Masala fries, and Butter Chicken with basmati. He's dined here while on campus several times and this is one of his go to combos. I ordered also a Masala chai and bone-in Goat Biryani. First visit for me and it was a rare culinary epiphany. The bone-in Goat Biryani was generous, flavorful, and had lots of succulent meat. It was not gamey either. It was delicious to suck out the marrow from one piece. This was outstanding and beat out the other two times I've had this at a shuttered spot on Broadway on Capitol Hill and another spot in Milwaukee. I kept talking about this entree driving home and I'm thinking about it again as I type out this post two days later. The unsweetened chais were evidently molten and the fries took a tumble. But replacement plain fries were provided at the end as takeout. Too bad a tray was not provided or available for use to carry the multi part order to our four top, just saying.

I am not expecting to dine in here or use any utensils or cutlery. Just eat a burger. Anyways the burger itself was at best average.
