I just took in my bike to have both the tires changed and the coolant flushed. The gentleman at the desk was nice enough and I thought everything was going to go well considering he was transparent about price and what was in stock etc. I come back the next day after being told the bike was finished. Lo and Behold tires look great! However, by the time I get home the rear tire was flat and I saw that there are two new dents in my gas tank and new scratches in multiple places! Granted my tank was already dented in two spots, but now it is dented in four. I don't know if they thought I wouldn't notice or they didn't care, either way that part sucks. The worst thing is my bike is feeling handicapped. She doesn't ride the same as before. I have no idea what they could have done to it but I can't rev out through the entire gears and I find myself having to up shift earlier, she is riding completely different! This was my first and last time taking my motorcycle for service there. Granted the gentleman at the desk, Adam, was nice, do not be fooled because whoever is working in the back does not care about your motorcycle! If this is what happens for a tire change and coolant flush, I can't imagine what would have happened if I needed someone more complex done. You have been warned!

You can tell that he knew what he was doing just by looking at his shop and all the scooters he was working on. He also gave great insight on some areas of my scooter that I hadn't really considered. Some really cool stuff that will enhance my ride and keep it running smooth. I've had many Harleys over the years and have always found it EXTREMELY difficult to find a Dealer or a Person that is as passionate as you are when it comes to your Ride. You can tell when you walk in A&J that they are committed to delivering you quality service and a great product. You can clearly see the pride he takes in the service he provides and delivers. I will always confide in A&J when I need something tuned or done on my Scooter. I was truly thankful for the excellent service I received. FINALLY, a good Cycle Shop. AMEN !!!

Naturally since I'm a Ferndale resident I thought I'd give them a try since they're so close and they're a custom shop from the Motorcity. I've been trying to get a hold of these guys all week for a repair on my foreign bike. Between them not returning phone calls or just not answering their phone repeatedly they must be either really really busy or just have really poor customer service. I'm guessing the latter. I began calling other shops in the area and realized that DB's prices were alot steeper for comparative work. I also found that depending on who I talked to at DBs, that the price fluctuated for their services that should've been a flat rate and were elsewhere. I felt that they really didn't want or need my business. Sorry to say but I'm done with them.

The owner Ed never seemed to get stumped when you called or stopped in with a problem. Ed was the Professor. Over the years Double A had done all my motor and transmission work. No matter if was a 1950 Pan restoration with NOS parts or a 103" Stroker Shovelhead, Ed was then man to trust. Unfortunately Ed has decided to retire and close the doors at Double A. Double A Cycle and Ed will be sorely missed.

The owner, Alexander the Not so Great, cancelled an invoice on me the night before I was supposed…read moreto purchase a bike from his shop. When I contacted Alexander Samul the owner of the company he claimed he was not making enough money on the deal and I now needed to send him the money via zelle, cash app, or PayPal friends and family so he could avoid paying taxes and "keep it off the books" as he put it. What kind of legit business asks a complete stranger they've never met in person to send them 2800 dollars thru cash app to pay for a bike they've not even seen in person yet? He couldn't even stick to the agreement we made a mere 3 hours prior and canceled the invoice he sent me without telling me. This Owner of Detroit Moped Works lied to me and did not keep his word. He then tried to justify his lies by saying things change and we didn't have any type of legal agreement to purchase the bike. Where I come from a man's word means everything and this guy is giving small business's everywhere a bad name by not honoring the agreement we made. He then cried the blues about how he could barely keep the lights on and just needed to make payroll which seemed like a very odd and unprofessional thing to do for a business owner. I contacted him to purchase a bike not be his therapist. There was nothing complicated or personal about this transaction. I was trying to purchase a Bike from Detroit Moped Works a retail shop that sells bikes, mopeds, and scooters, why would that be so complicated for them. They tried to change their story later when I called them out on what they were doing by saying it was a personal transaction when clearly it was not. In fact the bike I was going to purchase is for sale inside his store Detroit moped works so why would it be a personal transaction. They sent me an invoice to pay for the bike that was from the company Detroit Moped Works, again not something that would indicate a personal transaction. The words "off the books" were his words not mine as you can see from screenshot below. If your intention was not to operate "off the books" then why would you say that and use those exact words? Sure sounds like the owner is lying yet again. They continued to lie about what happened by saying the invoice was revised, the invoice was not revised because I asked for an extra day, in fact it wasn't revised at all. It was cancelled altogether because the owner became upset and thru a temper tantrum because he said he wasn't making enough money. Cancelling an official invoice from the business and asking someone to cash app or zelle you personally so you can avoid the taxes and credit card fees is not what I call revising the invoice. This business says they operate with professionalism so why does the owner not show that same professionalism. The bigger question is why is the owner of Detroit Moped Works selling bikes from his own shop personally off the books? That does not sound like a legit business operating on the up and up to me. The invoice I received from him was from the company Detroit Moped Works. That would indicate it's NOT some type of personal transaction. I'll attach a copy of the invoice received from Detroit Moped Works to purchase the bike. I want to be very clear. This did NOT happen because of any type of miscommunication. The owner of Detroit Moped Works straight up lied to me and backed out of the deal we made because he was greedy and decided he wanted to make more money from the transaction.
