Office has been great and supportive in easing anxieties I have with dental work. I have been going here for quiet sometime and the family team of doctors have always be extra accommodating beyond what I should receive. I appreciate the kindness and concern and compassion demonstrated by the office after I had a root canal. They made the procedure bearable and were up front about associated cost and billing to my insurance. I was able to have everything explained to me in terms I could understand and staff was patient when I didn't understand anything related to billing. I made an appointment to get just a basic teeth cleaning. That is all I wanted. They confirmed we were set for a teeth cleaning appointment. I get a call saying my insurance is not valid anymore which was incorrect. They confirmed they looked under the wrong account. - STRIKE ONE So, I take vacation hours to take off half the day to make it to the appointment. I get there and they say, oh, btw you require some sort of deep cleaning and it's going to cost extra. - STRIKE TWO I said well I am not going to get that done. Then she says we'll let's get you back to take a full set of X-rays first. - STRIKE THREE and your Outta There!!! Sounds like a money grab to me, so I suggest her to find out if they are going to give me just a basic teeth cleaning before I waste my X-rays just to have to get them done again. So, she comes back after talking to her boss and says we can't clean your teeth without myself paying out of pocket. I went to another dentist and they Happily Cleaned my teeth under Insurance. Had they mentioned I needed to get a deep cleaning on either appointment or the insurance verification call it would of saved both of our time. Right off the bat, from the moment the receptionist picked up the phone till the moment I left the facility after my appointment, the entire customer service experience from Center Plaza Dentistry was AMAZING! Literally EVERYONE I interacted with was friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable and attentive (receptionist, technician, hygienist, dentist, etc.). The facility itself was well-decorated, well-lit, very cleanly and very professional. I've literally never had a more positive experience at a dentist's office - and honestly, I've never even had a bad experience at a dentist's office before, it's just that this was a cream of the crop experience. I am so glad to finally have gotten Invisalign and the team at Center Plaza Dentistry has made the process so easy. Dr. Yin was able to get me fitted for liners within weeks of my initial consultation and deep cleaning. My teeth required extensive shaving to make room, but it was a painless process as Dr. Yin is super gentle. During the COVID pandemic, she mailed me the liners and checked in on my progress. My teeth have moved significantly and I'm absolutely thrilled with the results so far. I hadn't had a deep cleaning in a long time and was quite nervous about it, but the dental hygienist was very gentle and professional. What a pleasure it is to recommend Center Plaza Dentistry, a beautiful, clean, orderly practice with the latest technology in Dentistry Medicine and conveniently close to my home. I first met Dr. Yin in April 2018 when I cracked a previously filled wisdom tooth. My family and I moved into this area of Los Alamitos in 2016, at this time I was still driving 17 miles north for my continued visits with my previous Dentist of 20 yrs who retired at the end of 2017. I was extremely worried about finding a new dentist who could empathize with my complicated dental history. My 30-year complicated dental history stemmed back 30 years after being hit by a car when I still had braces. The extent of my oral trauma included broken braces with my bracket embedded into my gum, a broken front tooth, and emergency surgery acutely but was followed by years of dental corrective work and implant. I developed severe anxiety towards dental work due to consistent pain and aversions to visiting my dentist to no fault of his own. When I found Center Plaza Dentistry, I was greeted by a friendly receptionist who had all my paperwork ready to go on a clipboard to fill out, she kindly offered me water or something else to drink. A pleasant dental hygienist then introduced herself and explained to me the process of a panoramic X-ray and then a few more Digital X-rays that focus on the details of each tooth, I then met Dr. Yin a detailed exam was performed and followed up with thorough explanations of my dental health, the diagnostics and dental work needed and suggested for future. Dr. Yin is a very soft-spoken, beautiful smile (Dr. Yin) professional who made me feel like I was the only one in the practice, gave me her full attention as I explained the chapters of my dental trauma/history and my current and urgent need. She very kindly reassured me what would follow, and gave me a detailed health intake report with options for treatment moving forward. I felt very comfortable with Dr. Yin's professionalism. She was patient, kind, and caring and I felt validated. She gave me options respectfully towards my budget at the time and offered me the Center Plaza Dentistry In-house insurance (which I was glad to sign up for) since I didn't have any Dental Health Insurance. I was so grateful and knew I had found my Dentist. I scheduled my procedure early as I needed to go pick up my daughter from school and they were very accommodating. Dr. Yin was very relaxed in her work as she did my procedure which gave me peace of mind, she has a very gentle hand, and I felt minimal to no discomfort. It was even followed up by a phone call the next day to make sure I was ok and not in any discomfort. Since this visit, I have been here several times, years now, and don't DREAD going to the dentist anymore. My husband now sees Dr. Hofkes (her husband) and is extremely comfortable too with the integrity of his work and also signed up for in-house insurance which has put both of us on a consistent schedule for cleanings twice a year, a sure guaranteed to maintain good dental health. We both have detailed plans which are fantastic, as I know everything explained thoroughly can't be remembered by both of us. My husband has his scheduled work plan/printout provided by the staff that he easily reverts to for consistency. That was given to both of us after our first visit and keeps us on track as to what needs to be done/corrected besides coming in twice a year for our cleanings, we schedule all the other work between those timelines and at our pace for the current recommended treatment needed. We are so happy with Dr. Yin and Dr. Hofkes, I can't say enough good things about what a change and a huge relief it's been to have good dentists. Not only do they genuinely care about their patient's dental health but also value their staff and that comes across in the dynamics of the quality of care given to you when you come in for care. I always have the biggest smile walking into their office knowing my teeth are in the best care. 2022: update- Since my last post in 2018, I have been a happy patient of Center Plaza Dentistry. I've had more fillings and finally moved on to getting an Invisalign for my teeth clenching problem and TMJ pain that is no longer an issue. This place is great! I have never had a dental experience quite like here, past dentists/experiences have left me horrified of dentists and always tried to sell me things I didn't need but not here! They truly care and do a fantastic job and don't try to push unnecessary procedures. The staff is always so warm welcoming and friendly and they make sure that you are comfortable. I feel that my teeth are in good hands here and have never been so healthy! This is the only dentists office I have ever really ever been comfortable with because of how great they are. I have had some fillings done and a crown and they came out good. They offer headphones and allow you to watch shows while they work on your teeth, this really helped me bring my anxiety down. My only issue is that while I am grateful they have some availability on Saturdays, I just wish they had a little bit more Saturday availability sometimes because I cannot come in during the week so my appointments end up being scheduled far out, if you can come during the weekday though it's easy to get an appointment. I had tested out another dentist in the Anahiem area and they were recommding a lot of unnecessary treatments BUT when I got a second opinion from Center Plaza Dentistry they told me that my teeth were in great condition and the recommended treatments by the other dentist was not necessary because everything looked healthy. I went in for a checkup today because I haven't gone to the dentist in a while (more than a year). This office is brand new and has some great equipment. The interior is modern, calm, and welcoming. If going to the dentist office freaks you out, the whole interior has enough charm and personality that you forget its a dental office. If that's not enough for you, they have a TV in each room and let you choose what you wanna watch on Netflix. The chairs have an audio jack so you can plug headphones in too if you just want to solely focus on your movie. I was greeted by the friendly receptionist. She offered me some water and or coffee as I waited. The wait isn't long as they value punctuality and DO NOT do the whole "double-booking" thing that medical practitioners can be annoyingly known for. So this place is great. They did some x-rays and explained that I had some cavities and will need a crown. Not a surprise since I'm prone to cavities -_- Dr. Hofkes goes over the x-rays with you on the screen. I appreciated the fact that he'll explain things in laymen terms so that I could understand everything instead of getting lost in technical jargon. I also really appreciated the fact that he didn't make me feel bad about my cavities and needed crown. Personally, I don't like going to the dentist and part of that is because the embarrassment of how bad my teeth are. But I didn't feel that here with Dr. Hofkes or the assistant Caroline. They were both very sensitive to my comfort level in the chair. Checking constantly if I was in discomfort (my teeth are super sensitive) and adjusting immediately if my teeth were hurting during the cleaning. Also, I noticed Dr. Hofkes treats his staff really well with kindness and respect. He doesn't talk down to them or barks orders. For me this is usually a good sign of a business owner who has a lot of integrity and trust. Not somebody trying to up sell you on items. Overall I'd recommend this place if you're looking for a dentist (and staff) that you can feel comfortable with and trust! read more

I've always felt like there are 3 areas of expertise where I want to find someone who I can trust. A good mechanic, a good physician, and last but not least a good dentist. Luckily for me, at Center Plaza Dentistry, I've found 2 dentist! Dr. Hofkes and Dr. Yin. I could tell that they place the patients' health and comfort high on their priority list which extremely important to me. Especially when it comes to my teeth. They take the time to ensure I understand everything that will be performed and are very patient with me. I've had a lot of work done on my teeth in my younger years which can present interesting challenges to some dentist. I have a permanent metal bar that acts as a retainer on the inside of my bottom row of teeth. As you can imagine, food gets stuck there very easily causing lots of buildup. I try my best to keep it clean but there's so much you can do with home equipment. Past dentist have had a difficult time trying to clean around my retainer bar but not here. My mouth and teeth feel so clean when I'm finished here. I've had 9 teeth removed in total in my early teen years so you can say going to the dentist can be a little traumatic for me. Dr. Hofkes and Dr. Yin always do what they can to make sure I am comfortable and relaxed. As far as facilities and support staff goes, I have to reiterate what some of the other reviewers have stated. This place is state-of-the-art and a very friendly staff. Take care of yourself. I called CENTER PLAZA DENTISTRY spoke with Mrs. Ailey the receptionist, asked if they except my insurance & she said yes & ran my information again over the phone to double check.. She then set up an appointment that same week.. She was so kind & willing to go the extra mile to help me out...At first it was difficult to find the location, bc it's located in the back side of Center Plaza parking lot, but good thing I had my GPS and found the location perfectly fine. It has two beautiful glass doors @ the entrance. Very cute dentist office magnificent clean that is an immaculate plus in my book. When it's your first appointment they will text you a link to fill out paperwork on your phone it was so easy & simple to fill out..If you don't have your phone Mrs. Ailey will go the extra mile to assist you..It was not even a long wait, just make sure you arrive early on your first visit, to fill out forms on your phone or by paperwork ...Then Mrs. Lesli (Assistant) called me to the back to get started, she took several of x-rays.
