I have insurance Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and have not lapse insurance in I do not know how many years, so this shouldn't happen from a primary care appointment. 2. I gave them my insurance card when i came in and they input my information. 3. they never called me to notify me that i had a bill or sent out notification that i had a bill, so how am i to know i have a bill. 4. I am also a patient access front desk staff for a hospital and am well aware of the no surprise care act where you should not have services rendered and be unaware or surprised by a random cost or bill. Next problem is i was instructed that my insurance company did not pay out after the claim for services were sent in, and that i should call my insurance company, this is also not something I the pt should be doing, but i called anyways and found out nothing was ever recieved by this place. so now i call thier billing department with my bcbs insurance rep on a 3 way call to straighten out and find where the disconnect is, ofc it was on the pcp side as they switched the last two numbers of my policy number when inputing my insurance information. Next problem i have been calling for 3 days straight trying to find out had the issue been resolved and i was also going to schedule my mother a new patient appt for the same day as my upcoming appt. every time i call i was told to hold not asked if i could like the proper protocol but told to hold and immediately placed on hold, ALL 3 TIMES!!!, by the last call i asked her not to place me on hold and she still did, at this point i am now calling to check the resolution of the bill and also to cancel my upcoming appointment as i have lost interest in continuing care with this PCP office strictly off the front desk incompetency alone, to no avail i cannot get them to stop placing me on hold.

My previous doctor that I tried turned out to be one of the worst experiences and I never returned. I actually don't like going to the doctors because I feel most of the time that my time is wasted and I feel like an inconvenience. However, I found this office and made an appointment. The entire process from start to finish was unbelievably easy and pleasant. When I called to make the appointment, I assumed I would have to schedule the appointment for a month or two in advance since I would be a "new patient" (like my previous office made me do). Nope! The lady on the phone scheduled me for an appointment right away. So easy I couldn't believe it! I go in for my appointment, the atmosphere was cozy and pleasant. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I checked in, filled in all my paperwork on the computers they provide and was called back within minutes. My doctor was Dr. Brayboy. I just want to say he is and will my doctor for a very long time!! He actually listens to what I am saying, explains things in detail, takes his time, very knowledgeable and I genuinely felt that he cared about my well-being. I can't say that I've ever experienced this before and I can't explain how happy and relieved to know that there are still great doctors out there. What I thought was also nice about this office is that they have a pharmacy literally in the waiting room, so when I finished up, Dr. Brayboy sent over the prescription and it was ready within 10 minutes. Also, they didn't have a prescription that I needed but got it in the next day- they will deliver it to me! The doctors and PAs aren't the problem--they're professional and capable. It's the system they operate within. It's profit-driven, demands unnecessary follow-ups, uses platforms that constantly malfunction, and if you find a doctor you like, don't get attached. They leave. Here's what pushed me over the edge: I submitted a prescription refill request a week ago, a few days before I ran out. I've sent multiple messages and left voicemails. When I finally reached someone today, I got attitude and zero accountability. My provider had been out for over a week with no coverage plan. Nobody was monitoring her messages or prescription requests. No one communicated this. My voicemails went unreturned. When I called to ask what was happening, I was told: "I'm not responsible for anyone else. It's not my problem." That's Avance Care in a nutshell.

When scheduling an appointment the receptionist displayed wonderful phone etiquette and the text , email reminders and patient portal enrollment was very helpful. During my first visit there was no wait and Datanya saw me immediately. She reviewed my insurance coverage with me, discussed my weight with me and completed bloodwork without making me feel uncomfortable. Today I returned for test results and Datanya discussed the importance of women's health and following up with screenings for breast, cervical cancer as well as fibroids. Datanya demonstrated how to do a thorough self breast exam which my previous providers had not really spent much time educating me on or performing correctly. We also discussed the benefits of holistic medicine and not relying on an abundance of prescriptions, the importance of a well portioned healthy diet and exercise to avoid prediabetes. I really enjoyed the teaching aspect of visiting this practice and I definitely plan to return.

So I tried this doctor's office based on a review I saw for Dr. Christine Han. She was everything I needed her to be and more. She was patient, nice, funny and, most importantly, non-judgmental. As someone who is very sensitive about myself, it meant a lot that she was kind and gentle. Another thing I really appreciated is how thorough she was at explaining all of my options for everything we discussed, and she didn't try to push one method or one product on me. She showed genuine concern about my problems and the things I was concerned about and didn't have a superior "I'm a doctor, you're not and you don't know anything" attitude, which unfortunately is too abundant these days. The Assistant who helped me before I saw Dr. Han, Alex, was amazing too. She helped calm me down after I told her about my previous experience in a doctor's office. Overall, this was a great experience, and I feel motivated to continue going to Dr. Han and improving my physical health.
