    Carbon Fade Trunk Paint!

I reached out to Central Auto Body to inquire about painting my carbon fiber hood & trunk. They let me know they would be able to accommodate, and scheduled to bring my car in the very next day! I am a relatively picky person as the car I have is strictly a show car, however Central listened very carefully to what I requested to be done and assured me it would be no problem. After the car was complete, I was absolutely blown away with the result! Much better than anticipated! They excel in customer service also as I currently am very busy with my work schedule, however Estimator Shayne assured me he would do his best to accommodate and ended up delivering my car to my job! I cannot thank central auto body enough for the amazing experience I had, I highly recommend them for any bodywork and paint you may need.

Caution - Consumer Beware!!! If you are considering Central Body & Paint (CB&P)- 98-021 Kamehameha Hwy, Aiea, HI 96701 Tele: 808-448-0045, Fax 808-487-6805 "GEICO Guaranteed Repair Program" STOP HERE - YOU NEED TO READ THE FOLLOWING!!!! CB&P failed to report/repair/recognize STRUCTURAL FRAME DAMAGE to my Toyota 4Runner that was towed to their shop on Oct 12, 2018 and remained at this shop pending repairs until 1 February 2019. The repairs they did ATTEMPTED were shoddy (at best) with misalignments throughout my vehicle from my hood, bumper, side fender and rear hatchback. A horrible paint job that consisted of several "re-do's" that ended with orange peel, over spray, swirl marks and mismatched paint. This shop had the audacity to say I was a "Difficult" customer - because I complained about my vehicle repairs, the additional damage done in their care, and the continued delays!! End result, $15K bill of repairs and an unsafe vehicle!! My vehicle was inspected 9 months later by an Independent Consultant that resulted in my Toyota 4Runner being totaled.

Best place on island I feel to come to get your car back to brand new if in an accident or just needing repairs for defects on your body and paint. I heard great things about the crew at central body and paint and was amazed by the work they do. They just recently got a machine that can make aluminum body cars look brand new. We were thinking my process might have been longer then expect but they got this machine just in time and thankfully I was one of the first peoples cars there were able to use it on and I must say i was impressed. Great customer service, great techs and everything from start to finish was amazing I couldn't have asked for a better process to go through in knowing my vehicle was in great hands through in through. Mahalo nui to central body and paint. I will definitely be coming in the future if anything happens to mine or friends and families cars. Highly recommend and trust you won't be disappointed with there work.

The outcome of my car looks wonderful !!

I got a text and a phone call explicitly saying my car was ready for pickup. Because they told me it was done, I went ahead and returned my rental car to Enterprise. When I showed up at the shop, my car wasn't ready. It was still being worked on, had plastic on top of it, and I could see employees actively making fixes to it. They told me I had to come back in 20 minutes. If I didn't have a ride with me, I would have been completely stranded because I already turned in my rental. It's incredibly unprofessional to tell a customer their vehicle is ready when workers are literally still at the car making adjustments. When I returned 20 mins later, the careless garage work only got worse from there. Right after I signed the paperwork and turned my car on to leave, my dashboard lit up with errors, locking my traction control and tire pressure safety lights on. When I immediately brought it up to their mechanic(I believe his name was Arnold), he told me that they had put air in my tires, that they were all good, and I can go drive off. He claimed my two tire sensors were just suddenly "faulty" and that I needed to go get them checked somewhere else, completely refusing to help me with the issue. Honda didn't have an immediate appointment available when I called them the same day I picked up the car, so I took the next closest one. Also on that same day, I checked my tire pressures myself and found that every single tire was overinflated by a massive 6 PSI over the factory limit. I had to let the extra air back out to the correct level myself, but the dashboard lights stayed locked on. I had to pay Honda $270 out of pocket just to have them manually reset the software and clear the code. To top it all off, when my insurance company called the shop to confirm what happened, the shop actually lied to them and claimed my dashboard lights were already on before they ever worked on the car. That is a flat-out lie to cover their own tracks, especially since their mechanic explicitly discussed the sensors and the air they added right at pickup. Thankfully, my insurance company saw through it, took my side, and reimbursed me for the dealer fee anyway. Pearlridge Fender & Body is disorganized with pickup times, their garage work is careless, they refuse to help when they mess up your vehicle, and they lie to insurance companies to avoid accountability. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else.

They replaced the large insignia, but they said that I would have to put back the small letters myself. Also while cleaning the car for an inspection, in addition to finding the small letters for the trunk door, I found water in my wheel well for the spare tire in the trunk. I told them that they forgot to reattach the other end of a plastic tube that ran rain water in the trunk door top right corner. They said that they don't detach that. But they had detached the rubber foam seal on trunk door when they painted the car. The seal is in the same area of the door as the plastic tube. If I had known ahead of time about the small letters, I might not have gotten the work done there. Usually shops will replace whatever they took off the car, and not leave everything inside the car for the owner to put back. To be fair, they did put back some of the stuff I found in the car after I picked up the car- like the car insignia, the rubber foam seal on the trunk door.

I was off island until that evening. They were closed 7 June and I picked it up 8 June. The repainted color I am satisfied with but the detail work was mediocre at best. There is a ton of overspray on the rubber around the windows and rear view mirrors. Additionally, there are already a few chips in the paint in a few spots which will be a problem in the near future. This has been months of frustration. I am now just over it and will not return to this establishment again for paint work. I will say that the manager was apologetic about the delays due to staffing issues but honestly due to the way this was handled initially, I should have been a top priority and more detail and attention should have been given to my vehicle. In the manager's defense, he did take matters into his hands and conducted a majority of the work himself and I am appreciative of that. I have spent the last 2 hours attempting to clean up the overspray and it will take me several more to get it all removed. Overall , I wish this would have been handled better but you live and you learn. Again, I am satisfied with the color but not the delays in service nor the level of attention to detail. I paid a pretty penny for my vehicle and the paint job was not cheap. The expectations were high but not met. This is my honest assessment and I have no hard feelings towards the establishment nor the folks I have dealt with during this process. Mahalo!

The only reason why i came back this many times is he is literally across the street from me and i didnt want to go far He always tries to small talk with you. And in that time he will ask you what you do for a living and how much the car is worth (in my case after he knew i had a car rental business each time i came he asked me hows business and what i am making per month) Based on those questions he will give you a quote. Which is unfair because you shouldnt be quoted based on your job and the cars value. It came to a point i told him "dont worry about the cars value just give me a quote". Another thing he does that i dont like is he will ask you "tell me EXACTLY what you want" and as an amature who doesnt know what their talking about, he will do exactly what you said and when its incomplete you are left worse then before. Youll see what i mean when you read about the accord The first time i brought a a 2020 soul that i tried to paint myself. It didnt come out right so i asked him to repaint it. He suggested i sand and buff it for $300. I agreed to it and altho the sand and buff was good he sanded thru the paint in several areas exposing bare metal. I had to get it repainted after his sand and buff Another time i brought a 2015 versa. He quoted me 450 and when it was done he asked me for $200 more because he did more work then he expected. He called it "unforeseen instance" which i knew that wasnt true because it was simple bondo and paint. Another time i brought an accord. I paid him 200 to mount the bumper because it wasnt aligning. He cut thru the bumper that wasnt aligning and a 1 inch sliver was hanging off. I asked him "what am i supposed to do with that sliver?" He said "just tuck it behind the headlight" i said "thats so ugly" and he said "well you said get the bumper mounted and i did exactly that so why are you complaining? Isnt that what you said?" I said "i didnt know you were going to leave a tab hanging off" LASTLY i brought a 2016 scion IM to mount the bumper because it wasnt aligning. He just put kitchen silicon and painted over it. We all know silicon is oil based and repels everything. Sure enough 1 week later the paint he put on the silicon has peeled off even tho i didnt even drive that car yet. It was also so ugly my girlfriend even said it was ugly and why i paid him. I txted him the situation and he ignored me. I am never coming back to this place again. He is dishonest and doesnt do fair business and his work absolutely sucks for a pro. I dont have pictures of the other cars but i do have a picture of our txt he ignored and the last car he did. You can see how ugly it was at the beginning and how 1 week later the paint peeled off making it look even uglier then the ugly

Other part wanted to pay cash, and my wife agreed. Took to this place first, they quoted her nearly $4000 to repair. I'm not a sucker, so looked into it. The cover, all plastic, separates from bumper, and is $$310 at dealership, plus a couple $20 brackets to hold sensors. The sensors needed to be recalibrated, about $250 at dealership. I got one quote from another shop, $350 for his labor, $350 parts and $250 to recalibrate, total $950. New City Nissan quoted me $400 labor and calibration if needed and the $350 parts for total of $750. Ended up gong with the dealership. I'm sure many folks would've just taken thier quote though and not questioned it. They actually put charges for painting into the quote, there was zero painting to be done, plus lots of other extraneous charges, environmental fees, disposal fees etc... Total crooks, do not go there!

Mahalo, Westside Fender for fixing our baby!…read more My car was rear ended while I was at a complete stop. I knew I had to let the car insurance company find a partner local body shop to take care of the damage. Yelp came in clutch when I was on the phone with the insurance claims agent working with the at-fault party (fortunately, both of us had USAA auto insurance). I quickly yelped body shops in the Waipahu/Ewa/Kapolei area, and Westside Fender easily beat the other shops in overall rating. FIRST CONTACT WITH WESTSIDE FENDER: Just minutes after the insurance claims agent/adjuster arranged with Westside Fender, Chelsey called me to set up my appraisal appointment. The appointment was to determine how much the at-fault's deductible would pay for damages, availability of parts, and to schedule repairs and rental car with their partner, Enterprise in Waipahu too. Almost immediately after our phone call, Chelsey sent me an email detailing the appraisal appointment. APPRAISAL APPOINTMENT: I stopped by Westside Fender during my lunch break. The appointment barely took five minutes and I was able to schedule the repair for the following week. They assured me I wouldn't have to pay a single cent based on the fact that I had no fault (USAA's decision, too). REPAIRS: I dropped off my car at the schedule time and date. The technician said the repair process would take a week and a half. Only a week later, Chelsey called me to say my car bumper was fixed! After dropping off my rental at Enterprise and after their shuttle dropped me off at Westside Fender, Chelsey quickly went over the itemized list of repairs and costs to be paid by the at-fault party's deductible. Chelsey then went offsite to pick up my car and drive it back. Not only did my car bumper look as good as new, but Westside Fender actually washed my car and tires too! Now that's exceptional customer service! Not that I wish anyone in Waipahu or Ewa to get into a minor collision, but if you're short on time and need to quickly find a body shop near home, don't look further than Westside Fender! The shop has won many awards and had lasted over 40 years for a reason. Thank you, Westside Fender!

Now they told me I gotta spend another $2400 to fix the same problem. My other half and I talked business with the owner's daughter Shay Nakamura about the situation and asked certain questions and she couldn't give any feedback to the situation at hand. She tried to give me a discount, but I don't think it was enough, considering I know for a fact they are charging me 3-4x the actual cost for the parts and then will eventually get more money back because of the cores. I text the number they text me with explaining my situation and there were no response. 2 phone numbers they text me from I left a text message, no response. That right there shows me that that they have poor communication skills. Communication was done with text. To be honest, I prefer real conversation with a person/company.
