We visited for the first time last night under the new ownership, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. We were seated right away near the bar. The restaurant wasn't overly crowded -- only a few tables occupied and a handful of people at the bar -- but service was extremely slow from the start. It took about 10 minutes for our server to greet us, and another 10 minutes just to receive waters after ordering them. My boyfriend and I ordered drinks (a Raspberry Collins and a Tropicalia), along with a pretzel for the table. The pretzel was brought out by another server, and when I asked for plates, they never returned with them. I then asked our server for plates, but they still never came. Eventually, I had to ask the host to find our server, and he responded that he would "try." When our server finally came back, I had to ask for plates a third time. Our friend was finally able to order his mixed drink, and we went ahead and ordered our meals as well. The food took nearly an hour to come out, despite the restaurant having very few tables at that point. My boyfriend ordered the Nashville hot chicken, which was extremely oily and lacked flavor. I had the hibachi bowl, which was decent. Before the food arrived, I ordered another Raspberry Collins and more water, which took about 15 minutes and again was not delivered by our server. The one bright spot of the evening was the bartender -- I didn't catch her name, but she was wearing a red Falcons shirt. She personally brought my drink to the table, promptly brought us waters when asked, and even cleaned up our table. Major props to her professionalism and attentiveness, because she was the only person who made us feel taken care of. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we won't be returning. I don't get all the 1 star reviews. The menu is extensive and everything we had was delicious. We arrived at about 7 on a Saturday night and quickly got a booth for two. We split the friend green tomatoes-- they were so good with a balsamic glaze, cheese, and pickled onions over lettuce. Then, I ordered the grouper tacos and Mac n cheese. They make their Mac in-house so I had to try it. The tacos were great! I wish there was more of the green crema on top. The Mac was good! Not the best I've ever had, but more than mediocre. For dessert we ordered the fried Oreos with ice cream and that was YUMMY! Overall we were happy with our choices. The vibe is definitely a little more classy tavern than your standard casual pub-style tavern. There's an outdoor area and plenty of free parking. The service is the only reason I can't give them 5 stars. Our waiter seemed to disappear sometimes. He went to get me a refill one time, and it took 10 minutes. So that wasn't ideal. read more

We hadn't been in a few years cause the drinks were weak, service was bad and we had issues with orders. We saw they had decorated for Christmas and updated the drink menu so we gave them another try. Shannon was an excellent server! They had a Rum punch showing online but not on the menu but they still made it for me (sad to see that removed). The raspberry Collins was also great! We got the happy hour chips . It does a great job of this with great outdoor seating and an upscale, intimate restaurant and bar. It's perfect for hanging outside on a great day or evening, or for a date night in the dark, stylish interior. That's pretty much, however, where the joy ends. Food is good, but overpriced, drinks are way overpriced for the area.. Service is good, not great. Sometimes it's best to enjoy the journey, not the destination. Overall A-ok. read more

Mixed review here. Came because we wanted to try something new with a good menu selection to celebrate our daughter's birthday. Made a pre-call reservation & came in to be seated right away. Nice booth, clean restaurant, but not a whole lot of smiles or friendly welcome. Menu was solid, or so we thought. I ordered a Coors Light- out of it... huh. So I got something comparable & was not too bothered. Our server was very nice and attentive, so that was nice! Made up for the sad welcome team at the door. LOUD music, but we loved the music- good ol' River-Rock music!!! Hard to chat over it that loud though. Ordered the Chips, Queso & Guac- not amazing, but we were hungry. We also got the Crab Dip. Neither worth the price. I ordered the BBQ Sandwich & Mac... REALLY GREAT! GREAT cheese pull on the mac!! Daughter got a Smash Burger & Fries- she loved the burger, but not the fries. My hubby tried to get the Cuban, but they didn't have it, so he got the Whisky Burger- liked it. Mom got Buffalo Chicken Tacos w/Blue Cheese. She said really good & she is picky! The outdoor area of this restaurant was really nice. We sat on the patio and enjoyed a guitarist out on the walkway. The service was a bit slow but the server was good. My meal was amazing!! When switching a match on a particular screen, why not screen if anyone is watching, if so, ask the audience(s) if any concern, rather than just change it without any respect! When old management is in charge, they used place a sign under the screen indicating which sport/match will be playing during AFL season, but not anymore now. I love to support local, so I have frequented this spot. I get the sense that it isn't managed well or it has changed hands and gone downhill. The staff have seemed very lazy and inattentive at times, while decent at other times. They have a gorgeous location and plenty of foot traffic, so throwing in some deals and some new items would be good. Their food is nothing special. It also feels dank and dark inside. It is a fabulous location and convenient, but new spots are opening up all around and they will lose out if they can't keep the menu fresh and raise the level of service. read more

They recently changed the menu that week, so our server was unable to give a lot of recommendations, except for a few items that carried over! We came with a large group. It was busy and it took a bit for the food to arrive. It was pretty good. Half price shrimp and chorizo and half price Buffalo cauliflower. Both well cooked and delicious. I give it 8 out if 10 pretty good, even better on Thursday for half price. The house wines were 1/2 off on Thursday. We'll worth the 13.50 for the bottle. The house Pinot was smooth, no after taste. We gave Central City Tavern in downtown Sugar Hill a try last night, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The weather was excellent, and we enjoyed dining outdoors while enjoying a little people-watching. Our server was very informative and attentive to our needs. He made some recommendations, one of which I took, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We started with Billie's badass Brussels sprouts, and I could've eaten those all night long. I know Brussels sprouts are supposed to be good for you, but these tasted so good. They could only be bad... Nonetheless, we will have them again and again. My wife enjoyed the southwest chicken bowl, which had a generous amount of chicken and the flavor was out of this world. I enjoyed the chicken club wrap with tots. The club wrap was nothing special, but still very good, and the tots were the best I've ever had. We are sure glad that we found downtown Sugarhill, and we will be sure to revisit this restaurant. They have a great atmosphere, a great staff, great food, and are reasonably priced. read more

The building and setup was really nice, they have a big bar area and plenty of TVs. I didn't try the beer on tap, so I can't comment on the bar. One good thing was the music wasn't overly loud so our table was able to carry a conversation. I had the smash burger, it was nothing to write home about. The fries were way over salted and had to be sent back because they were cold. The service was piss poor trained teens and college students that couldn't get the order straight. This is such a cute spot in downtown Sugar Hill. Service was exceptional from the hostess to our servers. We had a trainee and her trainer, they were both very great. I ordered the southwest rice bowl. I was very delicious and I highly recommend it. My friend ordered the Cuban. She said it was not good and it was mealy. She wouldn't recommend it. But she did like the fried green tomatoes. The music was a little loud and I often found myself shouting. Overall, I had a positive and pleasant experience. I would definitely visit again. Tip: The restaurant is a little tricky to get to. You won't see it on off the main road. It's in the alley way of Rushing Trading Co and the pizza place. read more

I am writing this to make sure no one wastes their money like we did on this place. It took over 5 minutes to be seated and immediately we should have known something was wrong when we saw the price of food was outrageous for what they seemed to be serving. Eventually the server came by and we ordered our a pretzel to share for the table, and three burgers and Buffalo chicken tacos. Pretzel comes out and it's burnt and it was alright... just mostly covered in butter so it was edible. Beer cheese did not taste like beer cheese and I'm pretty sure it's the same queso they use for the chips and dip and nacho burger. Which is fine, it just wasn't beer cheese. Burgers come out and they are over cooked and are missing all the lettuce and tomato on the two burgers and my nacho crunch burger had a couple pieces of tomato on it and was missing the fried jalapeños on top. Buffalo chicken tacos were three tacos with two chicken nuggets in each with the smallest amount of sauce that it was pretty much dry. One of tacos also randomly had pieces of black beans and corn by accident. The chicken was also super dry. It was all so below mediocre. The five items with waters each ended up with a $90 total, not including tip, for barely edible food and terrible service. Also the beer selection was poor and the specialty drink was a double Tito's with a splash of cranberry and lime. Not the most original. I know the ratings look deceiving that it might be good but please don't waste your money. We all ended up having massive stomach upset for the next day and we regretted our meal so much. read more

We decided to try again last night since we were there for holiday events. We were promptly seated at a 4 chair table by the bar at 6pm. At 6:30pm we got up and left because not one employee acknowledged our existence. Even after passing us multiple times to help the table behind us. Even after having a table near the spot where they ring up food at the computer, and where the staff enter and exit the actual bar. Unbelievably poor service. Very much a training issue with every single staff member. We will have to be starving to death and there not be another restaurant open for 20 miles for us to go there again. This is a semi-regular hangout on pub trivia nights. Don't come on Wednesday, I dont need the competition! The food is higher end pub style. Standouts for me are the Grouper tacos, which are excellent in my opinion, as well as the Philly cheesesteak (although it doesnt need cheese and queso). A dish that's pretty good but needs some work is the Chicago style hot dog. The dog itself is great quality, but the toppings are a bit wet, so you end up with a soggy puppy. It can get crowded quickly, as it is a small place, so try to come on a weeknight or an "off" hour. Location. Downtown Sugar Hill, Ga. which has upgraded nicely. There is live music on many nights on the outside deck. There is lots of parking, as there is an underground deck also. Ate here for lunch on a Friday afternoon. Great service, polite staff. We ate inside which was really dark for such a nice day, would recommend eating out on the patio for lunch time. Nice big bar with a cool view. We had the salmon Mediterranean salad and chicken Caesar salads. Both were fantastic! The dressing on the Mediterranean salad was great and it is a generous portion of salmon. Definitely recommend! We've heard the rooftop is great for dinner too but we didn't try it. read more

This place seemed super cool upon arriving but when I opened the doors the only thing that greeted me was an extremely strong smell of cigarettes! We asked to be seated outside and upon sitting down I noticed the table hadn't been cleaned properly as there were numerous of drink rings settled in. The menu was subpar but we decided on grouper tacos and Buffalo cauliflower accompanied by margaritas. The food was OK and the margaritas were watery. Will not be returning. read more
