I totally disagree with the first reviewer. We have been to Dr. Senter and Central Mesa Veterinary Hospital several times with our two dogs and found them to be pleasant, friendly, and helpful people who cared about our animals. Even with basic vaccinations, they called the next day to see how they did and were so understanding when I wanted to take a "least invasive" approach to my dog's care, giving me options for him, making me feel that she valued my input and opinion. We called when our friend's pups was hit by a car on a walk in the morning (in the cross walk!). The receptionist was kind and empathetic and got us in right away. We were seen quickly and felt heard, and understood. It turns out the pup was just fine, but Dawn looked carefully at everything and clearly explained our options for care. We are traveling through Mesa in our RV and our furry baby is having problems urinating slight blood and throwing up bile. We checked Yelp, saw the 5 star reviews on Central Mesa Vet. The reviews were spot on. Dr. Senter and her staff are wonderful, caring and thorough. She was able to diagnose crystals in our babys urinary tract, gave us suggestions on how to prevent them in the future and meds to make them go away more. 5 Stars from us as well. We have been going to this vet office for a few years now. Dr. Senter has seen us through several well visits, some hip pain, and now treating on of our pups for hypothyroidism. I cannot express enough how patient, caring, and financially considerate Dr. Senter and the staff are at this office. They always take the time to answer any questions we may have and to give us info on things we may have questions on when we leave the office. My youngest son wants to be a veterinarian when he grows up and Dr Senter has taken time out to show him around and answer give him a better glimpse into the world of veterinary medicine. Simply amazing. They handle Max my Akita well and keep him calm during any procedure. At other vets, Max has to wear a muzzle. At Central Mesa Vet, Max let's them open his mouth and check teeth. read more

I have taken my dog to Central Mesa Vet for more than three years, and during this time, have referred both of my sisters and their pets here as well. They have been nothing short of amazing in caring for our combined four dogs and three cats. Every single staff member is friendly and genuinely cares about the well-being of our pets. Not only does Dr. Senter and her staff care for our pets, she is always very open and honest with the care that is needed/required vs. optional/recommended. I never feel like I'm being "sold" any treatment for my dog that is not necessary (I have had that experience with several vets before). I can not say enough about Dr. Senter and her staff. My 8.5 year old dog was seen at another clinic she had been diagnosed with a torn acl. Long story short, on her scheduled day of surgery I was told they suspected osteosarcoma(bone cancer) but they could only give 75% confirmation. What type of vet gives this sort of answer? Needless to say, I was seeking another opinion. I had my dogs records immediately sent to Dr. Senter. Of course, the old clinic conveniently did not send her x-rays or pathology report. Dr Senter and Lou drove over to the other clinic and personally picked them up on their own time. Other clinic is located in central Phx., at minimum a 45 min. drive. To date, Dr Senter has reviewed my dogs chart and consulted with us in her office for over an hour. We are currently waiting on a final pathology report to move forward. Dr. Senter has never charged me for any of her time! Who does this anymore? It appears we have luckily stumbled upon the only vets office, in which I have ever encountered, to truly put the animals well being above their financial gain. Unsure of how things will progress, but this clinic has a client for life. I would drive from anywhere in the state for Dr. Senter's knowledge and compassion. read more

I would definitly recommend Dr Senter, I dont know of another vet that would go out of their way to do what she did for us and our dog. I do admit that he is a handful although some would say he is vicious but he is our baby and i would do anything for him. Dr Senter and her staff were amazing, patient and caring and got the job done. I dont know what we would have done. Thank you so much for all you did for Riley and we look forward to our next visits. We have been going to Central Mesa Vet ever since we adopted our beagle 10 years ago. At first we did not really have a relationship with the doctors however when Dr. Dawn and her husband Lou took over we were instantly impressed with their compassion and friendship. They truly care about their customers and the pets that they serve. They were there for us in good times and in bad times. We will never forget all that they did for our dog Rusty. I've had a lot of animals in my day and also used to work at a Vet Hospital. I have to say that Dr. Senter, Lou and their staff are the BEST, most compassionate Vet Hospital to take your pets in Mesa! I've been taking my animals to Dr. Senter for years and I wouldn't trust anyone else with them. She's done everything she could to not only help my pets and keep them in the best shape they can be, but she's also very compassionate and understanding with the owners as well, and keeps in mind their ability to afford veterinary care. I now live on the other side of Mesa and there are many other animal hospitals and Vets here that would be more convenient for me to take my pets to, but Dr. Senter and her staff are so wonderful and caring that I won't take my pets any place else. I had a great experience with this practice. They were responsive to my dog's needs. I was beyond happy with the care we got.

I went in first thing in the morning becuz my cat haf a uti.. the assistant told me there was no vet intill 9am that they would see me as soon as the vet was in. So i went to other places no luck finding a vet .i came back at 9 and the assisnt said im not sure if we have time to look at your cat.a uti is an emergency and she was takin her time like if it was ntn she had me waiting to see if the dr had time to look at him 20 min past i walk away and left im not happy how they responded to an emergency they should took my cat in right away . read more

I will never come to this vet again!. Dr. Senter told me that my dog could go out side after her booster Parvo shot. I trusted her, and my poor Coconut got Parvo. After, she was diagnosed with Parvo Dr Senter wanted nothing to do with my baby Coconut. I tried to make an appointment for her to get treatment and Dr. Senter did not want to see Coconut because she had Parvo. Instead I took her to 1st Pet Hospital and had Coconut in the Hospital for two nights. Dr. Senter did not help with any costs, as she should of due to the fact that Coconut had already been vaccinated for Parvo. Before you get your dogs vaccinated at Central Mesa Vet, you sign an agreement that if your dog gets Parvo after being vaccinated the office pays 50% of all costs. She (Dr Senter) did not pay one cent!. I couldn't afford another third night at the E.R. for Coconut and she passed away. This was my little baby, she meant a lot to me. I never want anyone to experience what I did. Please do not take your pet here, poor care treatment for you pet. I had to watch Coconut suffer with this horrible virus, and it all could have been prevented if Dr. Senter would have done her job and cared for my pet. read more

I went to this vet after reading all of the other positive reviews. I have been to other places in the valley and have not had the best experiences. I brought my cat in and usually he scratches everybody at the office (I know... bad kitty!). The staff and doctor took extra care to make sure that he was comfortable and he had no problems at all. I had taken him into another vet in CA for the same issue (abscess) and they charged me three times as much to do the same work. Overall very satisfied and would definitely go back again. read more

We moved to Arizona all most 3 years ago and at that time we had a 13 year old Maltese. Our dog had tons of health problems but Dr Dawn and her staff was always there to help us. Unfortunately August of this year (2015) we had to put him down for more complications with his health. Dr Dawn and her staff were so great to us during this difficult time. Dr. Senter and the staff at Central Mesa are phenomenal. I first met them through fostering with APARN. I continued to take my foster failure, Bahdi, to see Dr. Senter for her many senior pug issues. I can not describe how amazing this facility is. I consider myself a high maintenance pet mom and I've never been rushed, pushed aside or taken less than seriously. Everyone at Central Mesa treats all of our crew as family. I was there today with two of my pugs and Dr. Senter went way above and beyond what a typical vet would do. She always answers my many, many questions with precision, care and compassion. She truly adores my little ones and treats them as they were her own. Dr. Senter and her staff are amazing, from Clarissa in the front manning the phones and your pre-visit questions to the techs and assistants who help her. She takes a wholistic approach the overall well being of your animal, understanding stressors and causes, and helps you understand what is and what isn't working. Changing vets is difficult and Dr. Senter put me at ease and my miaos made it through. Two initial visits done, at the same time, with bloodwork, vaccinations, and microchipping. HORRIBLE PLACE, very uncaring, all the care about is your money. I have a chihuahua mix dog who has seizures. I took my pet here after reading the reviews and thought I'd finally found an honest vet. I spent several hundreds of dollars on testing for him only for them to tell me they weren't sure what was causing the seizures. They did however prescribe potassium bromide (very common with dogs with epilepsy). It seemed to work, after several months of being on the medicine his seizures stopped. Well when it was time for me to renew his prescription they wanted to see him, fine I thought. Then they told me they wanted to do further testing, wanted to test his liver and other organs. After reading online that potassium bromide isn't processed in the liver and therefore isn't harmful I see it was just an excuse to charge me more money. They told me it was common and the tests are necessary. They refused to refill his prescription unless I agreed. I'm not spending hundreds of dollars more on unnecessary testing so I'm in the process of looking for a new vet. I hope you reconsider taking your pet there because they don't care about your animal just your money. read more
