Was referred here after moving to Tempe from out of town. Due to covid they are great at keeping things safe and you stay in your car while you pet goes it, but they were so great with my pup! Dr M is so helpful and gives such great advice, even on things you may not have brought up during the visit. I drive 45 mins just to come here! I won't go anywhere else. So glad I was referred here. Called to get help with my dog receptionist was so rude. My dog needs help and she hung up on me after giving me a number.

This vet was disrespectful and unprofessional. Told me my dog "needs to learn manners" within a whole 5 minutes of being there, because she couldn't get him to cooperate right off the bat and that she's "not convinced he wouldn't attack someone in public" end quote. She clearly doesn't understand the bully breed and sounds like they only have one other client with a pitbull (don't know how that's even possible). So if you have a bully breed I highly suggest taking them elsewhere, somewhere where they are not ignorant and bias against the breed. And I most certainly do not appreciate a condescending lecture on how to medicate my dog, repeatedly saying I'm confused and when I get confused to just call. I am not an idiot and I can read instructions. I'll be driving 45 minutes out of my way to see my old vet from now on, where they actually understand my dog and treat us both with respect. read more

I have brought my best friends here for over 15 years and Amy just happens to be about as good as they get in my book. She has met me at my vehicle on several occasions and taken such good care of my friends they must connect on an astro plane!! This vet was highly recommended by a good friend but after several bad experiences I have gone elsewhere. Very weird vibe from Dr Munion, not a people person and not sure she's an animal person either. She is rather condescending and cold. Seems to be a ongoing turnover in staff. On one occasion I walked into the office to find Dr Munion and other staff bad mouthing a previous pet owner/client. Very uncooperative in working with me when I wanted to use an online pet pharmacy to obtain my dog's meds, in fact they flat out refused to do so. I will never go back nor recommend. read more

There are so many wonderful things I could say about Pet Haven and Dr. Amy Munion where do I begin.......A friend recommended Pet Haven when we moved to Mesa 17 years ago. Our dog then had lost her hearing and was going blind. She had a diseased eye which Dr. Amy Munion removed herself rather than the expense of a specialist. Our Mandy was able to live a little longer but eventually we had to let her go. We've had 2 beagles since then adopted from AZBR that Dr. Munion has and still does take wonderful care of. We also have a cat named Alex we adopted 16 yrs ago from the AZ humane society, we've never had a cat live this long and believe it's all due to the excellent care he gets from Dr. Amy Munion. We have taken both of our cats here for about three years, after trying other vets, and have had great experiences. Dr. Munion explains everything and takes her time with our pets. She also must work very late, because we have received calls to check on our pets or deliver lab results, etc. She has even given me her cell phone to pass along to our pet sitter when we are out of town in case any emergency arises. We had to take one of our cats to an emergency vet after hours, and Dr. Munion called first thing in the morning when she received the report to check on him. I just love her and am so happy we found a great veterinarian for our loved family members Larry and Genghis. read more

Dr. Amy Munion and her staff are wonderful! I take my four cats to her and until her recent death, my mom's cat also. When it came time to have Roxy put to sleep, Dr. Munion carried her into me wrapped in a blanket so I could say good-bye to her, and as I held her, Dr. Munion gave her the injection that sent her soul to heaven. She sat with me as I continued to hold her and didn't rush anything. I was able to determine when it was time to physically let go of her. She cried and hugged me, so very compassionate. I will be forever grateful for her sensitive, caring way at a very difficult time. Her staff was just as compassionate. One of my cats has terrible allergies and we are there often. Under her guidance, She has taken my Sebastian from a very ill little kitty to a much healthier and stronger cat. Many thanks to all of you wonderful ladies at Pet Haven. read more

The clinic is always clean, bright and the staff is both cheery and very qualified for their positions. Dr. Munion and Pet haven are wonderful! SHe diagnoised thyroid disease in my sheltie. Another vet said it was a skin condition. She has been our vet for 20 year. Her staff is so caring and helpful as well. After the loss of our first sheltie, at 13 years, she called and sent a letter to check on us. She is truely a great veterinarian. read more

We have visited Pet Haven with several of our dogs over the years for a variety of ailments and routine checkups, including puppies and elderly dogs. Dr. Munion runs her clinic as a single-vet practice, so it's always the same vet in attendance. She has a somewhat large group of support staff, which has a high turnover rate, unfortunately quite typical for the industry. Overall, Dr. Munion favors a clinical, diagnostic approach in her practice, so tests and prescribed medications are more common than most other vets we have used. She does use a lot of medical terminology that is beyond most pet owners, including us, but she is helpful in explaining things in plain English if we are flummoxed by the Latin. We would describe her demeanor as clinical, which may seem cold to some pet owners, though it didn't bother us. The clinic is bright and clean, with the usual gnawed corners and chipped Formica. Wait-times are a little less than average of the other vets we have used. The reception area seems a little more chaotic than most, especially the reception desk, which is often staffed with new employees. Prices are average for the area, though as mentioned above, she does tend to order more tests and prescribe more medications than other vets. Be sure to ask why she is prescribing each drug and test, and take notes for later reference. We would recommend Dr. Munion if you prefer a clinical approach, and aren't opposed to follow-up tests and pharmaceuticals. She can be especially helpful if your other vet has been unable to diagnose your pet's condition. People who prefer a more warm and fuzzy interaction or who want to go the homeopathy route would be better served elsewhere. read more
