I love the Friends theme but the drinks were mid, the merch was lacking, and the line to get a drink was a bit chaotic. You do have to buy a drink to sit on the couch which isn't a big deal but there didn't seem to be much order to it. My experience at Central Perk was terrible. The main problem was the waiter. He was EXTREMELY disrespectful and was annoyed everytime we asked him for simple things like utensils and napkins. I was pretty excited to come here since I first discovered it last summer actually when I used to have to take a bicycle ride to my bank before I switched to a bank closer to me. I had time today in between a split shift at work, so after making lunch at home I decided to take a walk and try this place out. My drink was alright, extremely sweet, I chose a mocha with an extra shot of espresso. I also have a muffin which I haven't eaten yet, and a snapple iced tea which is pretty much the same from wherever you get it. I didn't really like the atmosphere too much and when I visit a coffee house, I'm there for my love of coffee but also for the atmosphere as well as being able to relax. I felt like I couldn't really sit down and relax there which is probably why I wasn't so crazy about it. The employees were playing latin music from a radio station, latin music is fine, it can be fun and for some reason I've heard it in starbucks before and it worked for them, but it didn't really work for this place, I think because starbucks has it on a lower volume. The others customers were a bit noisy and somewhat rude and pushy to the employees so that also helped deaden the potential greatness of this place for me as well. The seating was okay, sort of random. There was a nice long couch with two tables and chairs in the front left of the cafe, and then regular lunch/dinner tables scattered throughout the rest of the cafe. It looked like there could be outdoor seating in the back but they may have put seats away for the winter season. So far of the few coffee shops I've visited since it's been my mission to hunt around and review coffee shops this is my least favorite. I would go back to the spoon, witches brew and babylon bean, but if I come back here it's going to be a forced come back with one of my girlfriends who would like to check it out or with my boyfriend if he really would like to go. read more

I have been here before they changed the menu as of my most recent visit 8/15/2011, packed with people very loud place small cramped table, a few tables out back out side, (nice addition if you ask me) you can get a muffin a coffee and a salad or one of their hot sandwiches like the falafel wrap , WRAP? to me a falafel belongs in a pita, the food is ok , the service is just ok, and the prices seem high but then again everything in this town is over priced. The food is half decent, it is overpriced (as is all Kosher places) and the salmon is always flavorless. Their salads are sometimes a hit or miss as well. So my sister and I ordered food from here on Grubhub. The restaurant called us a few minutes later to tell us that nobody was available to deliver the food, so if we gave him $10 more he would bring it to us. First of all, we already tipped when we checked out our order which was $8.50 and then he was asking for more on top of that. And secondly, who asks a customer to tip more money?! So we said no, that's so insane he would even ask and then we hung up the phone. There is a vast gap between the expectation when you look at the prices in the menu and the actual meal you get. It feels insulting when you pay double than any other place for cheese fries and ended up getting frozen nasty fries with expired cheese, there is nothing that I hate more than paying extra $ for bad product. I'm here on Saturday night with a group of friends and I am super surprised this restaurant has anything more then 1 star! There service here is the worst. There staff was extremely disrespectful, most of the food came out 30 minutes later and other food we needed to remind them multiple times and let's not get to the drinks that never came! 10 minutes after we got our food they gave us the check so they can try to push us out. I read another person's review where they said the service sucks "if you're not 'one of their own.'" Fortunately, this turns out not to be true because, unfortunately, I am "one of their own" and it sucked for me, too. There's plenty of great, kosher coffee and light fare in the Cedarhurst vicinity. We asked for the window table but he said he needed it to sort his muffins, which were apparently more important than his customers. He sat us at a 2 foot cocktail table and promised to notify us when the window table was ready. I ordered coffee for myself and my son asked for hot chocolate both in ceramic mugs and two muffins. We got the chocolate and no muffins or coffee. By the time I asked about my coffee in the muffins, my son was, of course, done drinking. The owner, clearly overwhelmed, discovered someone had left it sitting on a remote counter in a paper cup. He handed it to me, luke warm, I asked about the mug. He took off the lid, poured it into a mug and said "sorry...Here you go." Really? A fresh, hot cup would be so difficult? Maybe black, too, instead of brown mud... Cold, brown mud. The muffins? They were toasting, even though we didn't ask for it. He then gave the window table away to someone else. When we moved to a normal-sized table on our own, he got angry and told us to go back to the little table. I refused since we were already comfortable and he gave away the table he promised. He got louder, shouting "get up." Teaching my son never to put up with being bullied, we got up and left without paying a red cent. The man was cursing me out as we left. Classy. 3 other tables containing friends of mine who saw it, later told me I did the right thing and that their service was even worse. No one deserves abuse, yet some of you take it. Even a 3.5-star review says they messed up the order (like they had done with me previously as well) and that the service is "slow & forgetful." 3.5 stars??
