Honestly, it's just a standard Walgreens. The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because the customer service is exemplary. Not one person helping customers has ever been anything but helpful. I've been coming here for a little over a year living so close by, so I do a lot of my last minute impulse shopping here. They always have what I'm looking for and if I can't find it, everyone is so quick to help. I feel bad for where they are located though, they have frequent shop lifting and the employees are essentially powerless to do anything. But there's often a police patrol car in the parking lot just for that reason. The store is clean and organized and everything is priced the way you would expect it to be at a Walgreens. read more

This is the last time I will patronize any Walgreens store. My complaint is about the pharmacy here. Very poor service and very rude. They are coarse and rude here. Went to pick up a prescription and it was a auto refill prescription. It was not ready. I asked why and they told me there was an issue with the insurance. The insurance company wanted a 90-day supply and the original prescription was for 30. Then they started to argue with me. Then I was given a price for a 30-Day supply since it is generic and is a tier 1 drug on the prescription plan. I was told it would be $17.00 and some cents. I approved that, and heard nothing. I even offered to pay in advance for the 30-day supply so I could pursue the steps required to get my 90-day supply through the pharmacies my insurance company wants me to use. They wanted me to use Costco or CVS for 90-days. They said they will fill the prescription for 30-days and let me pay when i pick it up. I heard nothing. I went back the following day since I had no pills left and that was when it all started. The pharmacist who I believe is Hispanic is a female dog trying to guard her puppies. She is totally unprofessional and needs to be fired. Her customer service skills are lacking, and i have worked in customer service for 35 years. Anywhere else where I have worked, she would have been fired and shown the door. Totally ghetto attitude. She even had the nerve to tell me that my business was not welcome, and that she did not want me shopping in the store. Then she told me that she does not want any more of my prescription business in her pharmacy. I can see why my insurance company does not want to use Walgreens after talking to this lady here. Her attitude is causing people and insurance companies to go elsewhere. I reported all of this to Walgreens corporate and documented all of it. They gave me a case number. I also reported it to my doctor who gave me the prescription that I was getting filled here at this pharmacy. My doctor sent another prescription over to CVS. CVS filled it and there was no problem there. CVS also told me what they were doing wrong at Walgreens because they were able to look it all up in the pharmacy data base that all pharmacies have access to. CVS also said I have the right to have it filled and pay out of pocket and not to use my insurance because it all shows up in the data base regardless of who pays. So if you try and go elsewhere and get another bottle you can't because they can see you already had filled it somewhere else. This pharmacy here is turning away business. Lost business is lost profit for the store and Walgreens Corporate. Walgreens needs to get busy and fire this lady quickly. She is sabotaging the business here and is turning away customers who are the very people who bring in the revenue for the store and company. She needs to have her pharmacy license revoked and she should not be working with medicine at all period. This store is trashy, dirty, and the parking lot is always dirty. Total filth here too. There is no cleaning going on here at this store. The corporation needs to close it completely. The CVS in Pinole is better run and a much cleaner store. I have another prescription here which I will be having transferred to CVS when it is due for a refill which is also automatic. I am also going to ask that doctor to give me another prescription for 90 days and not 30 as well and have it filled at CVS. Walgreens has lost me as a customer for life. There will be no more shopping in any of their stores anymore. My business is not important to them. Management hires rude people who mistreat customers and are very coarse and rude. They don't want my money. Walgreens is going to face the same fate that Rite Aid did. They will be going out of business. read more

My husband and I have had the absolute worst experience w customer service in the pharmacy at this location, we switched to a different walgreens. They will call you saying your prescription is ready and when you go to p/u, it's not ready and they're upset you're there. Most unfriendly staff. Specifically the tall , thick ,dark haired girl in glasses. She hates her life so bad and everyone pays for it her attitude is so pathetic, I actually pity her lol. This store pharmacy has poor hours as well as auto refill ordering by phone without letting you know they doubled the price but not your quantity. I was shocked to see a single order when I got home and when I inquired the clerk said I willingly paid and they didn't have control over insurance. I've gotten double refills in the past so yes I thought it was a double order and the pharmacy knows the difference in meds and prices. You don't "automatically" fill an order that's different from the previous one and say the insurance did it you say "WE DON'T" have it what would YOU like to do. Yet again, they send me a message that my prescription is ready. Then I go there to pick it up and they are having 'technical difficulties' and are closed. I go again and still not able to get it. Closed on weekends, so another 2 days without prescription. I go on the 9th, first day after weekend and they say its not ready. I showed them the email saying its ready. Was told well its been 7 days and after8 days they put the prescription back on the shelf. Really? You're closed for 2 days for weekend, you were closed 2 days due to 'technical difficulties'. Last minute I looked everywhere for children's Valentine Day cards. I called the Tara Hills Walgreens and ask if they had any, the young man on the phone said he would go look, they had some. When I went in I asked if he was the young man that was helping me with my purchasing if he was the one I spoke to on the phone about the Valentine's Day cards, he said yes. If I could I would give this Walgreens no stars or negative stars if allowed. The pharmacy here has gone down hill bigtime. The pharmacy is no longer open evenings, and is now closed on weekends. The last time I tried to get a prescription refilled, they were working on it with the doctors office to get it renewed. Then they closed for a week, and forgot my prescription. When I called, they said they were closed, and told me on a recording to go to a Walgreens in Walnut Creek, CA. Instead of having you go to the Walgreens in San Pablo, CA on Laurie Lane, they directed me to Walnut Creek. They could have directed me to the Walgreens in Pinole Valley too which is much closer than Walnut Creek. My doctor had to send another prescription to CVS on Canyon Drive in Pinole in order for me to get the medication I needed for last month. I was told to go back to Walgreens this month for the prescription since I have a health plan that contracts with Express Scripts. Express Scripts said Walgreens is a participating provider for medications and pharmacy needs. When I tried to get the medication refilled this month, this Walgreens said I have no prescription. I had to get my doctor to send another prescription to CVS again because we cannot trust Walgreens. Then I ordered another prescription via the telephone touch system at this Walgreens. The automated system said it would be ready today for pick up at noon. When I arrived at noon, the prescription was not ready. They had to go get it and fill it while I waited. The last numerous times I have gone to this Walgreens for a refill on a prescription, I have run into this same problem. The medication is not ready when they say it will be, and I have had to wait. This other prescription will be filled next time at CVS too. I'm done with this Walgreens. When you enter this store there is trash all over the sidewalk, and in the parking lot all the time. They do not take any pride in cleaning the trash or litter from the front of this store. Inside this store it is filthy dirty. I hope Walgreens corporate looks at this location, and decides to close it. It needs to be closed, The management here is incompetent, inept, and cannot run a retail store properly. Clean up your dirty store, and get rid of the crap going on in your pharmancy. I won't be back to shop here, and I live around the corner. Great location, at the corner of healthy and happy! No seriously, it's in a great location, actually in the corner connecting Richmond, San Pablo, Pinole communities. The store also offers a drive thru pharmacy which I always find it's easier and faster to just go straight in. They have chairs if you're not a person who stands, you'll be fine. Always clean, spotless really. Spacious and set up like your average Walgreens. No complaints in the four months I've lived in this area. If anything, the store helps me with my spending. I have little self control over making purchases and budgets aren't my forte. But strolling through the small store that has mostly the same items in every aisle helps a lot. Going in with a grocery list and coming out with exactly just that is way easier with less temptations and distractions. Customer service is average. As long as they check out pretty quickly then I'm happy. Every so often you'll get a cool cashier that you connect with. Maybe I'll go to the pharmacy for something and the people are always professional, courteous and extremely knowledgeable. I recommend visiting this Walgreens for your quick, every day needs, wants, guilty pleasures. You won't be disappointed. read more

This is only for the pharmacy. Not the store itself as I have no direct knowledge of the store itself, only the pharmacy. This place is a joke for a pharmacy. I get a notification that my meds are ready on Tuesday. I go there Thursday, and guess what? They aren't ready. I told them that I got a notification they were and the guy there said it doesn't matter what notiifcations you got, it isn't ready. I inquired when did he think it would be ready? I don't know, we process them as soon as we get them. (Obviously not as they got mine but didn't process it). I asked if it would be ready tomorrow (Friday). He says it should. I come back on Friday, see a different person and guess what....still not ready. I told the 2nd person that I got a notice Tuesday that they were ready for my pick up. In fact, I got two additional notices, Wednesday and Friday morning that they were ready for my pick up. She affirmed that those generated notices are not reality. She explained that they are generated about 2 days after getting the prescription as this is when they should be ready. But it has nothing to do what the pharmacy actually does. She suggested I come back on Monday. I went on Monday afternoon and they were finally ready. A full week after being told they were ready for pick up. The past few months, the drive-up is hit and miss on being open. More miss than hit to be honest. Today I get a notice to come pick up my prescriptions and I go there and see the drive up is closed again. Not a big deal as this is more of the rule than the exception now. So I go inside and see the pharmacy is closed up, dark and no one there. Guess what the problem is now. They are "Closed due to technical difficulties". I find a person working there and asked how was I to pick up my prescriptions? He said the pharmacy would be closed for the rest of the day and no real idea of when it will open back up. Maybe tomorrow, but not sure. He suggested I call the other pharmacy in Pinole and see if they have my prescription in stock and I can just get it there. Sounded reasonable. I called the Pinole pharmacy and was put on hold with the nice message they are helping other customers and I was more than 3 people deep in the que. I waited for about 45 mins on hold, and I got to being #3. About 5 mins later I was #2. About 15 mins later, they disconnected from me. Really?? I am on hold for over an hour and you disconnect from me? Poor management of that pharmacy as well. Walgreens is doing their best to not be a pharmacy people want to use at this rate. As others have said, long lines, a joke, not open on weekends, when most people do their errands because they are working, surprisingly during the same hours they are open. Gee what a concept be open when people do their errands because they work too. Not a good business model for a 'service oriented' business. read more

If I could leave a zero, I would. Such a terrible service at the pharmacy. I came in today to pick up my meds that was supposed to be ready by 4pm yesterday. And guess what, even after waiting today to pick it up because I know how slow they are, IT WAS STILL NOT READY. Employee told me to loop around while they're preparing it, but instead I went home to give them more time. Very unhappy with this place. Track record of mistake,wait time on phone and not filling my meds on time. Alota horror stories. Today... I called to see about the stat on my prescription n they hung up1st time.2nd time I was on hold for 18min so I call the store n they transfer me back. As of now I've waited 18 more minutes? Today!!! Not as long as I've had to wait. Once while at my friend's house n hours drive away they kept me on hold for23 minutes. When I had to go I decided to see if they answered BEFORE I got there. This location didn't have what I was looking for, but all the employees were extremely friendly and accommodating in helping me figure out where to find it. I came in to find a lab coat for a friend's sorority party, but this Walgreens didn't carry them. I asked a couple employees when I first walked in wondering if I'd missed them walking up and down the aisles, but they informed me that they didn't carry them and even called another location to ask if they were sold there. Unfortunately, it ended up being an online-only item, but I was very impressed with their service. This is a pretty typical Walgreens. It does have a good size parking lot.

I always find every Walgreens to be a little messy or over stocked. Regardless, the store does well to have affordable prices on most of their items. The drug store is conveniently located on Richmond Parkway and has everything a drug store can offer. Additionally, they offer printer cartridge refills and also recycle batteries (I hate throwing them in the trash, and it's illegal). Customer service is a little slow, but the employees are always helpful and courteous. Parking is never an issue as their lot is quite big and the store is open 'til 11p.m. daily. read more

She has short red hair and last time I went in a few months back a customer called the cops on her because she refused to give him his prescription because he had a supposed attitude! I was simply doing my usual shopping there and when I walked up to the checkout, that was where the rudeness started. I had caught the Walgreens employee checker snickering at me for no reason, totally unprovoked. Why haven't I written a review here yet?!? I come here at least once a week - it is super convenient and the only place in this part of town that's open 24 hours. My biggest gripe here (why it lost 1 star) is that their cashiers LAG. There is almost always only 1 person working the register. And you know the people who shop here (senior citizens...)....they aren't the quickest people around. I just wish they had a self check out line that only people under 30 know how to use anyway. read more

This review is for the photo dept. I order over 50 4x6 pictures and 8x10. Luckily I looked at them before I paid for them. The quality came out poor and dull. A white guy with shoulder hair length gave me an attitude bc I didn't want to buy them. I told him I wasn't going to pay for poor quality work and poor ink. Overall the store serves its purpose. Most employees are kind and helpful. They do their job with a smile. Some of their employees so need a refresher course in customer service etiquette. Most people understand that you can't ignore taking care of customers because you don't feel like answering their questions or replying back. I spoke with a female pharmacy technician 4 hours before I arrived at the drive thru to pick up my medicine and not only was it not ready they wanted me to go around and wait in line so they could attend to the cars behind me?!?! Super bad customer service, went in to get some pictures i had ordered and i went like 20! min past my pick up time just to give them some extra time and when i come in the girl at the register was really rude to start off with, i said hello i came to pick up some pictures and she rolled her eyes and said some pictures and had no clue what i was talking about, she walked over there and it seemed that they had not even started printing them she asked what size i ordered and my full name, she was then like well they are not ready i asked about how much longer and she said about 30 min but we close at 10 so you cant get them today. I was waiting in line to drop off my prescriptions but there was only 1 person helping behind the pharmacy & there were 10 people in line.
