We visited Tap and Barrel Convention centre again to watch England vs Mexico. It was very exciting match and huge crowd of Mexican supporter gathered at Jack pool plaza. I liked the lively world cup vibe. We had a few beer and Hummus & Za'atar Fladbread - hummus, chermoula, feta, harissa, crispy chickpeas, parsley, baked to order za'atar flatbread Korean Fried Chicken Sliders - gochujang-glazed fried chicken, kimchi pickles, chili lime slaw, kewpie mayo, brioche slider buns I did not have Korean chicken sliders, I was told they were very spicy, and delicious. I always love their Zaatar flatbread. Flatbread was very soft and chewy inside and crispy outside. Zaatar was very very rich, creamy and so delicious as usual. Lime Parfait - Lime custard, cookie crumb on the bottom, topped with whipped cream. It was very sweet side, It was just ok. We enjoyed watching game and shared appetizers for dinner. Really disappointing visit, especially given the location. We were relocated three times during our dinner -- each time we were told the table had a reservation, only to watch it sit empty for the rest of the night. Disruptive and frustrating, especially with kids at the table. On top of that, service was slow and inattentive -- we felt forgotten more than once -- and the bathrooms were dirty, which was surprising for a restaurant in this price range. The food wasn't worth the hassle, and despite being marketed as a casual, family-friendly spot, this did not feel like it at all. Expected a lot more given the location right on the water. read more

The servers were great. The view was great. The front room I guess you would call it. The one that looks right out to the harbor and the ferry docks, Loud. There was a very large group in there not being epically boisterous by any means. That room just echos from all the hard surfaces of the industrial Cozy aesthetic. I found it odd that when we walked up they asked for our name and number like there would be a wait and then were immediately taken to the table. I had the PB&J burger. It was good. Date of visit: July 21, 2025 This place is massive! There are two different indoor sections and then a large outdoor patio as well. We were seated in the Barrel Room, which was a more intimate space that was plenty comfortable for our table of four and was right off the main walkway, making it easy to enter and exit. Food was great; my Double Pepperoni pizza was truly featuring twice the pepperoni that I would have expected on a pizza this size. The pizza is generously-portioned so you certainly could share this pizza with a friend and not come away disappointed. Just a couple of tweaks on service: Samantha was incredibly friendly and personable, but there were some large gaps in service over the course of the meal, though she was wonderful when she was present. Also, we joined a line for those with reservations, only to be directed to a second line, but then were finally seated. read more

It was 4:50 pm and their HH ends at 5:30pm ... we placed our order for the Tots with garlic mayo and the wild mushroom pizza ( not that Wild like the NHL Minnesota team) and had HH drafts and highballs . We were wandering the waterfront area, and I expected every establishment in this area to be a tourist trap or a rip-off, but this place was great. We came during happy hour and sat on the patio. We didn't actually have a table with a view, but there are other tables outdoors that do have a really nice view of the water. We had a bottle of Shiraz for a very reasonable price during happy hour, and the atmosphere in this whole general area is great. Margherita pizza was yummy. First things first, this view! Whoa. If you're nearby, either for a conference or because you're boarding a cruise ship like we were, Tap & Barrel is a great spot for dinner and sight seeing. We added our name to the list and were given a time estimate. It's always nice to be called sooner than you expect - and right on the harbor, there was so much to see: people, planes, ships, and helicopter watching. So cool. Tap & Barrel has a gorgeous inside space that I spied briefly when using their rest rooms. We choose to sit outdoors and scored a table on the railing of the coastal harbor. Wow. Such a gorgeous way to end a day of travel. Yes, we ordered clam chowder. We shared some fried pickles, mac and cheese and cocktails from their Happy Hour menu. I adore mac and cheese, but this one needed more seasoning - maybe salt. That aside, the drinks were great, the chowder was fresh and we ate all the pickles too. Our waiter was fantastic, checking on us just enough to never let our water, tea or cocktails run dry. He didn't rush us, even though we did have prime seating and was happy to watch us from afar and check in as needed. I'd love to return and order more dinner or even lunch entrees. Beautiful locale in part of Vancouver's downtown harbor called, "Canada Place". If you sit right outside of the restaurant you can see some of the most beautiful mountains in Canada. The girlfriend and I were starving, and I am glad we stumbled upon this place that is located inside the Convention Centre, directly across from the world trade center of Vancouver, Canada. I know, I know, two full paragraphs before I even get to the food, just wanted to establish the fact you really need to check out Canada Place if you make it out to Vancouver : ) Okay, now onto the food! PB&J Burger - 100% Canadian beef, chipotle peanut butter, bacon jam, house mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickles, on a brioche bun. The burger was pretty freaking delish having both PB and Bacon jam on it how can you really go wrong. Calabrian Chili & Garlic Prawns- sautéed prawns, spicy Calabrian chili crunch, garlic shallot butter, white wine, lemon, grape tomatoes. The prawns were not what I was expecting. In North America, the term "shrimp" is used much more frequently, while the word "prawn" is most often used to describe larger species or those fished from fresh water. Well, this was clearly a case of getting shrimp and not the prawns I was hoping for. I chalk this up to being a fish out of water, me being in Canada and not knowing their definitions when referring to seafood, and yes, pun intended. This place has some really good beer as well. I believe the beer I got was called don't let the dog's tail slap you in the face or something similar and if they have it highly recommend you get if you like a very smooth crushable beer. Although I was let down by the seafood appetizer, I would compare this restaurant to a fun sports bar experience and recommend it if that is what you are looking for. We stopped by here yesterday for dinner. The line at cactus was too long but we were able to snag seats right away here. Our waitress was super friendly and accommodating. We arrived around 4:30. We ordered: Tots: 3/5 these were ok, would have been better if they were crispier. Kids cheeseburger with fries: 5/5 my kid liked it. Kids burger with salad: 5/5 my other kid liked it. The side salad was good. Happy hour chicken burger: 5/5 great and tasty! I highly recommend this one. Happy hour burger: 4/5 this burger was good but chicken was better. I woke up with an intense craving for Burgers. If you like your burgers juicy like I do, they serve them here like that. Most places overcook them. Not here. I personally think it's a crime to serve beef patty's anything other than medium rare. But that's me. I had to try the PB & J Burger. Why? I like Burgers and Peanut Butter and that's exactly what you get with this dish. So, picture this....a well-seasoned, juicy, beefy, textured patty with a rich creamy house mayo on-top, zesty pickles, crisp lettuce and a buttery brioche holding it all together...just for you. Now add Peanut Butter and bacon jam in the midst of that awesome shindig. If that wasn't good enough....add hot, super fresh salted fries still steaming. You know why I'm getting excited? Because, you'd be surprised to know that these days it's the norm to serve luke warm unsalted fries with dry patties. That's why. This Tap & Barrel still does it old school...where...well....food is supposed to be hot, drinks strong and cold and everything seasoned.....you know...shit is done right. I was looking for a nice place that could accommodate a group of 5 last minute and scored a reservation online for about half an hour out, which gave us just enough time to get over there comfortably. It was very nice to have the reservation and skip the long walk-in line. We chose to sit inside instead of on the patio, because while the patio had a great view, it was loud. The inside was actually kind of interesting; they have a big wall of books (mostly older educational books) that we looked at after we ate. Washrooms are single-stall and clean. Our server was very friendly, although left us alone for a bit too long after we'd finished our entrees and wanted to order dessert, and eventually pay. The food was good. I got the ranchero rice bowl with tofu, and shared the fall special pumpkin pie bread pudding for dessert. Good flavours in the rice bowl. The cajun tofu was generously seasoned and a little spicy. The pumpkin pie bread pudding was a really unique way to enjoy pumpkin pie, and the tangy labneh centre was a nice touch. I definitely recommend trying this. One of my friends and I ordered the ube colada to drink. I was going to get the regular version, but when she ordered, she asked for non-alcoholic and I decided to switch to non-alcoholic after I found out they could make it. I thought it was okay but didn't taste much like ube, but she said she could taste the ube. We both found very sweet though; I bet the alcohol helps cut the sweetness in the regular version. I liked the whipped coconut cream topping it off though. Overall it was a good experience here and I would definitely go again with a group. read more

When I finished my first beer, I ordered the Yellow Dog. The atmosphere was so comfortable, I stayed 'til past 11 pm. Late in the evening, a man came up to me & asked "Do you like my beer?" I wanted poutine and although I didn't see it on the menu, I asked our waitress and they had it. They didn't disappoint! 4/5 Poutine - very tasty and a must have with every visit to Canada! Hey Yelpers!!! Ate here with the wife while staying next door at the Pan Pacific Hotel. Had a great meal here! The food was excellent and the service was awesome. The fried chicken Mac and cheese was tasty. The Mac was cheesy and the chicken cooked perfectly. The seafood chowder was so good we ate at another location that night and had it AGAIN! The garlic bread you can order with it is a perfect complement and should not be skipped. We will probably go back on our return trip in a week. And lien I said, the service was spot on! Great for a chain restaurant! The food is always good and i recommend ordering the waffle fry poutine as a full appetizer rather than as a side to your burger. Although it's so delicious you may not want to share! They have a large happy hour menu so be sure to visit and load up on appetizers and drinks. My friends and I decided to come here after much debate about which pub style business we should visit. First thing we found out is that it's quite popular and difficult to get a spot immediately. That cost us the chance to have the happy hour menu but thats alright. We had kinda studied menus at places diligently and saw online that nachos were available. Unfortunately, it turns out the website isn't 100% accurate across locations as there no nachos to be had. We did have guacamole and salsa, but I'm not gonna lie. The tortilla chips we were served seemed like they came out of a bag. We could get refills of the chips at least though. I waa feeling steak, and went with the Creole Sirloin. Again, I'm not gonna lie but I was disappointed when I got the dish. I felt like I got the smallest 7oz piece of steak ever made. The taste wasn't awful but I didn't feel like I got my monies worth. Service overall was great. Our waitress was super attentive and helped us with drink refills throughout the outing. Reading some of the other reviews for this restaurant, I can only surmise that this place has seriously upped its game, as my kid and I came here for an early dinner yesterday and it was fantastic! I had made reservations online through Open Table, but we arrived quite early (my kid and I expected to spend more time at the Planted convention at the Convention Center, but it was so crowded, we left super early). Despite long lines outside the restaurant, I asked the guy at the counter if there was an empty table, either inside or out on their huge patio, noting that we were early and if we had to wait, that was totally okay. He was super nice and after conferring with a colleague, said there was a table inside and we were escorted in. I really liked the whole vibe of this place. Lots of tv's with hockey and soccer playing (go Oilers!). Exposed overhead pipes adding an industrial feel, with thick wooden tables and bar counters with the T&B logo branded on in areas. Dark walls with Hollywood bulb lighted signs. Open kitchen area to watch the cooks. Humongous bar with a gazillion taps for a gazillion beers. I'm not a beer drinker but if I were, this'd be heaven. Great ambiance. And the patio outside looked AMAZING. Our server was Daria (I might be misspelling her name). And she was wonderful. Very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and all the beers. My kid ordered a sour beer she likes but mentioned she wanted to try a few others "eventually", and Daria brought her samples of these three other sour beers, just to try. I thought that was so nice! As for me, I ordered a rosé sangria and it was delightful. Now, as for the food.... I have nothing even remotely critical to say. My kid and I shared the chicken wings with the maple bacon glaze, and all I can say is, these were the best chicken wings we both had ever had! Not too gloopy or sticky or greasy, but simultaneously sweet and salty and crispy skinned, like candy, and absolutely divine! We also shared the peppercorn steak (I know, I know, we just came from a vegetarian convention. Don't judge!!!). I'm not one for sauces so this wasn't really my "thing", but the steak was cooked perfectly and was delicious, as were the accompanying truffle mashed potatoes and asparagus. My kid IS a vegetarian, though, who has meat once every 1-2 years, and she said this was the best steak and best sauce she ever had. I was so surprised she was so into this dish, but she totally devoured it. We were too full to even consider dessert, but decided to return, either here or to the cute-looking Tap Shack along the Coal Harbor seawall, once the weather gets nice again (hopefully soon!). read more

Great recommendation by the front desk of the Vancouver Marriott. I wanted a place to go where I could watch football, eat and drink. This is the place. You can sit inside or out. We sat at the bar so that we could watch college football. Great staff that was knowledgeable and very friendly. The Korean spice wings were amazing, I could have eaten 20 of them. The wine is tapped right out of the barrel. There are at least 20 different types of reds and whites. The full rack was deliciously seasoned and cooked perfectly. The barbecue sauce was homemade. As for brunch, I enjoyed the avocado breakfast bowl but $17.50 was very pricey for a small portion of tater tots, minimal avocado and 2 poached eggs. Tasty, but a little bland and overpriced. Won't do brunch again. My friend got the wild mushroom pizza $18.95 which looked good! Will probably only come back for happy hour. read more
