I did contact the office after returning to the mainland following FEMA relocation, and I was told that any correction would require additional payment. The complications from my full mouth reconstruction began shortly after completion, including crowns failing and coming off. I paid over $50,000 upfront and am still waiting for any effort to stand behind the work without being asked to pay more. A public reply is not the same as professional accountability. read more

This office has been taking care of my family teeth (Centre for Contemporary Dental Concepts) since 2003. The dentist Trent W Smallwood is exceptional, kind and fun (and writes fiction novels!) In my case (my family loves it too) I am old and hate to be scolded or being treated in a paternalistic way. This is clearly understood. I am treated with respect and as an adult. I get my teeth taken care of every 3-4 months. Dental hygienists are critical. Today, I had a new one (turnover is not rare) and she (forgot her name- I am really sorry) was truly exceptional. She was not paternalistic, very efficient, and gentle. Drawback - services provided only Monday through Wednesday from 7AM till 3 or 4PM (I think last appointments are at 3). Emergencies ... they give you a number to call after you call their office after hours or when closed. Why not give cards with this information and instructions to all regular patients. It worked for my wife the time she needed it. Sometimes it is not easy to schedule an appointment for working people, like my wife or daughter. Services must be paid when rendered . They work with insurance companies- I have not had any issue. I would give this business an A+ but will settle with giving them only an A. This is due to the fact that it offers limited days and hours. Why not have a day a week for evening appointments so that people do not miss work? I hope these comments are useful. I am likely going to lose some of my teeth, according to the hygienist. After the hygienist nearly shoves her whole hand into my mouth and chastise me for not having my mouth opened wider. She claims that the state of my teeth is some of the worst she has ever seen in her 20 years in the industry, she was barley into her mid thirties. Then when returning to fill some cavities the front office could not locate any of my info. After the procedure I found a separate cavity they missed, which means I have to take more time off work to take care of that. Incompetence from everyone there. The dental hygienist was super comforting and nice and actually took the time to know you to make the experience easier. I was referred to this dentist by a friend for a bruxism issue in search of a specialist. I drove very far for this appointment and was very excited for some relief. Doctor Smallwood is certainly a pro and made me feel very confident in our visit and next steps. He sounded very intelligent and sure he could help me. I was scanned using some type of x-ray machine for my nightguard. A few weeks later, I was called the day before my appointment that I had taken work off for and told my night guard wouldn't be ready because the maker decided he wanted to use the old fashioned trays. This was very frustrating especially because it took them two weeks to tell me they couldn't do what I had expected to be fully completed at this point. I had to ask off work early to come in that day and get fitted again. Okay. It's hard for me to get in and I had already used my day off, so one of the assistants was nice enough to stay late and give me my guard. Although I appreciated this, it was very rushed and uncomfortable. I was blown away that I wasn't offered a follow up appointment with the doctor to make sure the fit worked, the device was made correctly, and to see if my pain had been alleviated. they didn't even try to make me a regular patient!? Although I really liked my first appointment and do believe doctor knows his stuff, I wouldn't recommend this place. The most important part to me- follow up- was overlooked. I would look for a dentists office that provides ongoing care and support rather than a quick fix. read more
