I would not recommend this shop to anyone. They completely failed to disclose a diagnostic fee upfront, which only showed up after they diagnosed the problem with my car. When we questioned it, they insisted they had told us the price beforehand--which is simply not true. This kind of lack of transparency and honesty is unacceptable. Customers deserve clear communication about costs before any work is performed, not surprise charges and then being told they were "informed" when they weren't. They even stated they recorded my phone call with them without letting me know. Then when asked to hear the recording the salesperson Anthony stated " we would need the owners permission to listen to the recording" still waiting to hear from the owner. Very disappointing experience. I won't be coming back, and I suggest others proceed with caution. read more

I'm happy with Owens Automotive. I've been using another repair shop, but I wanted to take a break from them because of a few issues. So I'm giving Owens an opportunity to take on some more expensive maintenance work down the line. I had an alignment done and an oil change. I dropped my suv off at 8am and picked it up around 11am. What I really liked was that Owens was able to use full synthetic oil for my suv. My other mechanic only did blended synthetic but charged about the same as full synthetic. Summation - Communication was good, the price was fair, and I would come back for repair work Negative - The only issue is that they have no parking. When you arrive, you just have to park in any available area on their lot. read more

I've used this place for 20 yrs on and off. Mostly for difficult things orhers shops wavered on. Don't know if the place has been sold, but a recent visit took me by surprise when I was told I'd have to pay a $150 diagnostic fee. Good enough, provided the fee went to repairs. I have after-market premium repair coverage with a $250 deductible. Had I proceeded, I would have paid the diagnostic and deductible, unlike every other place where the diagnostic was going towards the repair. Seemed excessive given I have full coverage for the repair. I heard the story " I've been doing this for 20 yrs" yaadee yadee. I've been a good customer twice as long, so I walked. read more

Talked to Justin about my 2005 Nissan Titan truck about 2 months ago. It was over heating going up big hills with my camper and trailer on it. Brought it in and they went through everything from A-Z. Replaced the radiator, fan clutch, thermostat and some hoses. I have been to the desert on the 8 freeway up all of those huge hills back and forth twice now. The truck is running cooler and better than it ever has! No overheating and it runs much cooler even when it was super hot outside. It's been 6 months since I got a replacement radiator for my Infiniti G35 from Owens, and I have had no problems at all. I dropped off my car in the morning, luckily their supplier had a radiator available and delivered that same day, and my car was ready an hour earlier than expected. Very personable, friendly service, both from Allen who took my car in the morning, and from John who checked me out at the end. I took my 2008 Ford Focus in for an engine service, brake trouble, and a noise it would make when I would make a turn. I take my vehicle over to Owens Auto every year for general maintenance, and once to replace a radiator. I have not had any issues with the work performed on my still running 1993 Toyota T100. I am extremely happy with the service they provide. I once had a light come on in my dashboard of my Toyota Camry that said check engine. They ran the diagnostic (free of charge) and told me that the gas cap was not properly secured. He tightened down the gas cap, and told me to have a good day. The prices are reasonable, and I just don't have enough good things to say about these guys. They are extremely professional, and the proof that they are so great is how long they have been in business, and the fact that they never seem to be short of work. read more

Good old fashioned service! We were in search of an AC person. The local shops were unable to fix the ac correctly. During the initial phone call, John asked me specific questions, and then answered all of mine. We took the car in, and true to his word-John got us in right away. The car was completed in less then two hours. He called me and explained what he had done. The charges were nominal too. Driving it back to Temecula, I actually had to keep turning it up, which is a refreshing change!! Both John and Allen are professional and courteous, helpful and knowledgeable. My mom and dad have gone to Owen's for decades!! They are super professional, reliable AND BRILLIANT with cars. My parents don't go anywhere else. I was telling my friend about Owen's, and she said HER parents always go there too!!! They're very friendly and thoughtful too. When my dad wasn't doing very well, the guys would come out to the car and chat with him, and see how he was doing. He has since passed away, and the guys ask my mom how she's doing whenever they see her. They even put former friends/customers memorial pictures and programs up in a special area in their shop. I was visiting my family in SD 2 weeks after getting a crappy maintenance service at Toyota in Santa Ana, when I noticed an oil leak. Tried to take my car to a place around the corner from Owens (by virtue of them having many more positive reviews); however, the place was booked until the next day. The employee there recommended Owens instead. I have to admit that I didn't have the highest expectations, but the guys who helped me at Owens really impressed me. They were prompt, putting my car on the lift within the hour and calling back soon to let me know that the people at Toyota had not replaced the cap on the oil filter tightly enough. They topped off my oil and properly replaced the cap, with no charge to me.
