We made a $12,005 EMD (earnest money deposit) for a property at the Northwest location-Skye Canyon area. Our application was voided on 12/30/2025. We patiently waited for our refund. After several texts and phone calls but still no refund, we decided enough was enough and reported the conducts of two sells manager, Crystal and Barry. Official complaint letters were sent to the Nevada Real Estate Division, the BBB, their corporate complaints department and their marketing department. Update -- fifth time is the charm! Allow me to be the first to give Century Communities more than one star. At long last they have fixed my wall. What is entirely disappointing is their total lack of care through the entire process. During the sales process they came off with a take it or leave it attitude. Flooring options were minimal -- upgrades were ridiculously expensive, and due to Covid, we could not preview our options -- absolutely inflexible -- they would not even let us close bare floors! We ended up ripping out ALL the flooring and replacing -- delaying our move in by two months. We had to chase them throughout the warranty process to fix their problems. In fact, I finally had to send a certified letter to the local President to get them to take action, and even then it took them a couple more months. And the President never showed me the common courtesy to respond to my letter. They say leadership comes from the top. My impression is that Century Communities just does not care about their customer. They are in hot market, they are a big corporation and you are privileged to be able to buy a house from them. The shame of it is is that it is a nice house. We like the design with the 10' ceilings and the open floor plan and single story. The quality of the materials and construction is pretty much average or slightly above, but is just fine. If we had been given a little courtesy, and had our warranty issues addressed in a timely and professional manner we would have a much better taste in our mouths and would probably recommend them. They will probably say that Covid was a challenge. But if you look at the other reviews prior to Covid they have the same ilk. And frankly they continued to build a brand new subdivision not a mile from us right through Covid. If you do buy a home from Century Communities buy it for the location and design and be prepared to deal with an inflexible, unprofessional company that really does not care about you. If I could give them zero stars! After a year and one- half chasing them to fix their construction defect they finished yesterday-- for the forth time -- and it is not right. We purchased a brand new Century home (Grandview) about 4-years ago and the kitchen sink separated from the countertop and cabinet two days ago: it literally fell down into the cabinet!!! This revealed that the sink was not installed nor secured properly. It was glued in place! What type of builder does this? UPDATE: Century Homes Stepped Up This is an update on 11/17/23 regarding a prior post. A Century Homes representative reached out them came out to our location at Glenmore 2 at Cadence. A plan and solutions have been implemented to remedy the prior issues. Back wall is being taken care asap. I'm sitting here reading all the other negative reviews and am trying to understand why I am sitting in a home that has so many issues that have yet to be resolved. We moved into our home at the end of November 2021 and were advised after we did our walkthrough that the issues we had would be corrected. After doing the final walk-through, there were things that were still not completed, such as our range hood which they said they were waiting for it to arrive and would install it in a week or two. I had advised that it was sitting in our pantry. and was told that the following week it would be installed A few of the baseboards look like they have shotty work. Don did our final walk-through and I again pointed out things that were still not to my liking. Don's response to me what that "nothing is ever going to be perfect" and stated that I "shouldn't expect everything in my home to be perfect." He also stated that if I hasn't rushed through my first walk-through everything would be done appropriately and that the first guy to do our walk-through didn't know what he was doing. For the amount of money we spent on our NEW, CUSTOM build home, I should hope that everything would be done properly and that we wouldn't have such issues but here we are After paying to have our home professionally painted because the builder would only paint with flat paint, there were many more imperfections found. Tape lines are visible on the walls, there is a bubble in our wall that doesn't even appear to feel like there is drywall behind it. There are several imperfections in the drywall on the home that we notice at various times of the day when the light hits the wall or ceiling. One spot in particular looks like a water bubble from a leak. Wiring in one of the bedrooms for a ceiling fan seems to not be connected Several of the pieces of flooring in our home have hollow sounds when walked on compared to other areas in the home. Our countertop range was installed incorrectly and now anytime we want to lift the grates on our range up to clean, they hit the side of the upper cabinets which has now caused us to scratch up the cabinets We recently received a letter stating that our 90-day warranty had expired yet over 2 months after putting in a request for a warranty repair we still have heard no answer on when the work will be done. We also noticed that on the outside of our home that there is discoloration in where the home was painted up near the roofline and looks like a band around the home. This is noticeable on my neighbor's home too FUTURE BUYERS BEWARE! Make sure that when you do your walkthrough you hire someone yourself to do a home inspection for you. I wish I had done this! I understand COVID has kept a lot from happening, but when you can actively continue to keep building other homes in our community before correcting the issues in the homes that have already been built it shows that you have no integrity and are just focused on putting the houses up and packing us in. Hurrah! As of today, all of my issues have been resolved except for the cover for the exhaust fan above my stove, and I have been in touch with the company that will handle that as soon as they come in (back-ordered). I would have given Century a 5-star review had communication to ease homebuyer's stress about warranty issues been present from the beginning. This was my second new-construction purchase, and during the walkthrough, both had lots of little things that needed to be fixed. In my previous experience, however, I was assigned a liaison that kept in touch during every step of the warranty process. It appears that Century is now operating the same way. No one wants to feel as though they made a horrible mistake with their choice of builder, and that was what I was feeling before I put my initial review on Yelp. Now, I feel comfortable with my decision and love my new home. We all understand the times in which we are living with COVID-19, supply chain issues, etc., so keeping new homeowners updated on delays, even if it's just a mass email letting us know that we have not been forgotten, is all that I needed for me to sleep peacefully. read more

I had applied for a loan with centuries lender. I get a call from salesperson jason st john that i was approved and to send in the earnest money deposit. So I immediately sent in the $2000. I was never approved. He knew it as well. So now I am out the $2000. They refuse to refund the money. I just dont want anyone else to be ripped off like I was. If I could give 0 stars, I would! Do not trust this builder! Their communication and transparency is BEYOND poor! We asked for terms between using their lender versus an outside lender. We were advised of a few incentives if we went through their lender including reduced EMD, $ towards upgrades and $ towards buying down the rate or closing costs. We were given the specific price of the EMD if we used an outside lender and forfeiting the additional incentives. After going through their pre-approval process, we saw their interest rate was higher. Doing the math, it made more sense for us long term to go with our lender. We decided to move forward - pay the higher EMD and forfeit the other incentives. When asked to start the process we were then advised that in addition to the higher EMD and loss of other incentives, that 50% of all options were required, non-refundable in addition to the EMD. We were originally told it would 25% of structural options only (it was never disclosed that this was a term of using their lender only) . Craig told my realtor that he disclosed this up front. This is a lie as both my realtor and myself would have been very aware of that number! It is not about the money, but about the lack of communication. This was the 3rd "issue" with major communication with going forward but the final straw (the other issues would lengthen this already lengthy review). They builder OWNS the lending company they "recommend" and are basically strong arming you to use their lender. We have not seen this with other new construction homes. The risk with new construction is the builder going bankrupt and either cannot complete your home or is unable to uphold the warranty. Between this lack of communication and other issues we've had trying to move forward with the process leads me to believe they are desperate to have buyers use their lender at the higher rate due to possible financial issues! Their incentives are smoke and mirrors as they will make an extensive amount of money over the course of the loan which would make their "incentives" a drop in the bucket. Had this information been provided up front and been clear, the experience would have been different and we would have likely moved forward. Everything has felt shady and hidden and untrustworthy! This builder lost our trust and we will never entertain purchasing from them and we will ensure everyone in our lives is advised to steer clear from this builder. (PS we had a family friend highly recommend NOT to purchase from them due to poor reputation - should have taken that seriously) Confirmation was coming on here to write this review and seeing the horrendous reviews left previously! 1.3 stars?!?!?! Hello all... There are 4 attachments in this email: Bryant_Ba15n, BA13NA-BA16NA, Jon W & Comfort Engineering Inc and Century Homes. Jon W & Comfort Engineering (Jon from Century home, Timothy McCusker from Comfort Engineering), these are the documents that Jon gave me on (9/16/2022) Bryant_ba15n, this is Product data information for the units. This is not the installation manual. BA13NA-BA16N, this is the Installation manual for a 13 to 16 SEER unit. Century home is the brochure/pamphlet that is given out at the sales office. Jon had not responded back to me either... I've called and left VM for Timothy McCusker (Comfort Engineering 3rd party) but have not received a return call. Wanted to ask him where the information came from where he stated that the 3/8th and 5/8th pipe is "sized per manufactures recommendation". The only place where I was able to find this information came from is under Product Data. The model BA15NA030 (with 2.5-ton evap coil) and BA15NA036 (3-ton condenser with a 3.5-ton evap coil) number are for 15 SEER units. Under Product Data manual page 4 of 20 there is a chart VAPOR LINE SIZING AND COOLING CAPACITY LOSS, this chart is what we in the HVAC trade call "cause/affect". Meaning if one uses under or over sizes the pipes (cause) what the affects it will have on the unit's operation. I do not see anywhere under the Product Data where the manufacture is recommending the 5/8 pipes. It only shows the affects if 5/8 was to be used. Nowhere under the Product Data is the manufacture recommending any sizes. If you look under the installation manual, (page 3 of 10) it's clearly stated that the recommended pipe should be. ¾ for 2.5 ton and 7/8th for 3 ton. In Century Homes pamphlet/brochure the A/C is for 16 SEER units. The two numbers following the first two letter is the SEER rating. I wished I knew how to attach PDF files, I would attach the installation manual. I have not and will not give consent to deviate, change or modify anything different than the manufacturers recommendations per the installation manual. Jon the VP for century homes construction called me on 10/5 asking to have a meeting, Jon was supposed to call me back to set up time the following week. DEAD SILENCE!!! Successful and a minority? Don't choose this builder. After sending in all documentation needed for the pre qualification, confirming with their representatives, and making an appointment. I drove all the way from Arizona to Nevada to pay the earnest money and select a lot. Upon arrival Bob Dougherty wouldn't even show me a lot! He kept reiterating that I need to sell my home first before they would even show what lots are available. Which is complete hogwash- he never even asked if I was paying cash! I haven't been living in my home for more than 5 months and have so many issues. I submitted a claim about the issues and I didn't receive a call or email back at all. I gave it two weeks and I asked multiple neighbors to see how long it takes for Century to reply back. They laughed and said "good luck". All of them told me that Century ignores. I found out through our community group that literally everyone in my community has issues. 2 months went by and finally a person contact me and yes they sent a person to fix the cracks and the uneven walls as well as a random dent on my wall. I told them I still have more issues in my home! Buying with Century was a mistake. They don't care! I tried sending DM's on Instagram and contacting through email multiple times just to get ignored. This is truly infuriating. These homes are built so bad not surprised, they let the construction workers drink on the job. Not to mention when I did my walk through I got my own inspection and they found so many issues and they already wanted to put the drywall up. Even after the drywall there were so many problems found through the inspection. This is not right! We bought a new home trusting century but all they care about is the money that's it. I didn't buy a new home to have issues immediately. DO NOT BUY A HOME FROM CENTURY! Unless you want a home that looks like it was built by a 5th grader and get ignored when you have issues due to the lack of building a good home. They build these homes so fast all they care about is getting the money and closing the community to move on to another. You may be thinking wow can they be this bad? How do they stay in business? They do it with shady business practices and lies. 1. Delay of completion sure delays happens we all get it but 3 months of delays is a joke. Took a total of 9 months for my home to get completed with tons of issues. 2. So they call you for your walk through before you close tell you don't worry put a tape on all the issues and we will fix them. They fixed about 1/3 of the issues and of the 1/3 they did a terrible job at it. for example I had crooked faucets from installation they said they fixed it but all they did was make them less crooked. These guys are the real deal jokers. 3. The walk thru rep says and i quote "Don't expect perfection it is not realistic" ???? then he also says this isn't his normal position but hes just helping out. Great they sent a guy who doesn't do this as his main job for my walk thru. 4. Design center reps don't have an effen clue what they are talking about. paid for a 15k upgrade in tile design was told by rep specifically it will look like the display at the center. What did i get instead? Of course something totally off and not even close. 5. Construction and attention to detail is so abysmal and so bad that i bet it was hard for the walk thru rep to hold a straight face thru it all. cabinets that had to be yanked to even open, uneven cabinets, gaps between cabinets, totally discolored grout on tile flooring due to construction workers walking in and out, damaged counter tops, chipped medicine cabinet mirrors, baseboard gaps and uneven, Drywall along the stairs that bend when slightly pressed cause they have no backing and do not attach to the flooring (with gaps big enough to fit the tip of my finger through), stair rails the wobble, Electricians that install wires in completely wrong places then chosen, and SOOOOOO much more. They kept sending me a survey after i closed with nothing getting fixed but by the time i was so delayed i already had to move and deposit was stuck in escrow had no choice but to close. So i finally filled out a survey in hopes someone from corporate reaches out but NOPE they had the same walk thru rep reach out the same one that says to not expect perfection and pressured me into closing. As if things werent already ugly and tense they make you deal with the same rep that didnt get shit done. Disgusting builders, Terrible business practice, with Crap service. I have a strong complaint about these houses, I have lived here for 2 years and I already had to spend 5 thousand dollars to fix a leak that was coming from the bathtub because of how cheap the material was. We had a plumber come out and he basically told us the hole plumbing in the bathroom sucked and they basically installed a hole new bathtub for us and had to find the leak and cut drywall and such a mess for a house that's 2 years, the house insurance only covered 1 thousand and we had to be chasing them to answer are emails. RUN! RUN! RUN! The worst experience of my life! I have $1Million into a brand new construction home that has now dropped 3 inches toward the street in Monte' Lucca Estates and Century could care less! The damage to the outside and the inside of the house is extensive. The driveway pavers lifted 3 inches, garage floor is now cracked, the front door was completely jammed shut and would not open, several doors in the house have vertical cracks, horizontal cracks and corner cracking in a zig zag fashion, grout has all cracked, baseboards have popped off, kitchen cabinetry has hairline fracture which caused so much pressure that the brand new oven cracked off a large half dollar piece of the oven metal lining inside the lower left corner of the oven. This all happened between June 108, 2018! I had just moved in on May 5th, 2018! Century's Las Vegas Vice President, Jon Wojtowitz accused us, the new home buyers of causing this damage when they know darn well that this is a SOILS COMPACTION ISSUE!! They have done soils testing and now they want to put a band aid on of "grouting" under the house instead of the correct fix which is "helical piers" around the entire house! Our dream retirement home is now a $1Million NIGHTMARE! Century does not care about their buyers as they state on their website. They take their sweet time getting back to us and now they haven't talked to us at all recently. I went online and filled out a warranty claim last year in July, 2018 and NEVER heard back from Century! And new construction buyers beware the laws in Nevada DO NOT PROTECT YOU! The laws all protect the construction companies rights! Therefore you as buyers have no leverage at all to make Century make things right as they should! Just bought 2 homes (over a million total) in Century Skye Mesa in Las Vegas. Many issues, including terrible discolored wood finishing and not aligned correctly. Their sub contractor Interior Logic Group was supposed to fix it today. They do not call on their way so my wife had to sit in the empty house for 4 hours. They never came. They did leave a note on the door saying "sorry we missed you" and said to reschedule. We called the number on their flier and it is the number to a medical facility. NOT even the right number. So we called Century homes customer service and Claudia was an absolute nightmare. You can tell she does not care about her job and her condescending tone and lack of interest in fixing our issues is what made me decide to write this. PLEASE do not buy a Century home anywhere, ever. I will only give my business to people that care about customer service and Century has Claudia leading their charge ! No thank you read more

Absolutely most inconsiderate company. Their workers blast music all day long so the neighboring houses (also built by Century Community so clearly don't care about their existing customers) have to hear it. The workers leave trash all over, I have found nails and other shrapnel in my yard which can lead to injuries to my dogs and family, the workers taunt my dog over the fence. Next step will be a complaint to the city over these violations. I have called and emailed the office and no one from this company cares. read more

After the pandemic hit, since we didn't qualify for the loan anymore they decide that they can go ahead and keep our deposit and the house!! We need that money for a different house! Now we're forced to accept the fact we're out thousands of dollars now thanks to century. We're a young couple with two kids! I am currently in the process of purchasing a home from Century Communities in Skye Canyon. My experience has been full of frustrations to say the least with the service that I have received. Rhonda is an agent in the office and she is THE RUDEST person that I have ever worked with. As a buyer, when I ask questions, she has told me that she " was not going to ask my question because it was a waste of everyones time", She made efforts to chastise me for changing my mind about electrical options by saying " You already had this lighting here and you changed your mind!", etc. She was so bad that I truthfully HATED talking to her. When I finally told her that I did not like the way that she speaks to me and that I am a customer and her job is to help me during the purchase process, her response was " I've already sold you the house". Essentially saying that I've already signed the contract to purchase, so she had nothing more to offer me in terms of customer service. I have called the management office and left messages about my dissatisfaction several times, but nobody calls back. It's been so much, that I cannot even begin to write it all down. I am purchasing a home for the tune of over $600,000, and the company does not treat you as if they value your business. I wish that I would not have gone into contract with this company. I am praying that the finished product ends up much better than my experience so far. I would recommend that you pursue other builders than Century. Century Communities. Where do I start. As a new owner of a new house they built for me, I can't say I am happy even though it's my first purchased home. The craftsmanship I give a negative 3. It seems the workers just don't care about how they complete their work. Very sloppy!! Most of all I can't understand how their managers feel the work is acceptable. Now for the managers or project managers, they promise and promise a completion date, but it turns out to be completion dates that get pushed out every week. They will also tell you they'll fix things you still see that need attention, well to say the least, more false promises. It's very disappointing when one is excited to move into their first home. I give the managers a negative 5 since they're responsible for the outcome and feel their final results are acceptable. If I knew now what I didn't know then, I never would have chosen Century Communities. It's been a long exhausting ride. Two thumbs down. By the way. I'm still waiting for things to get fixed. I have emailed the company below like they requested and still have yet to receive a response. I have also got into contact again with my warranty rep and he has completely changed plans from what was agreed upon for fixing my floors grout. I had previously had an appointment with the flooring supervisor, my warranty rep and a worker and we agreed that they would just regrout my entire floor since they had been back 5 times to fix holes and cracks. Now my warranty rep is trying to say that we had never agreed upon that and they only want to seal the floor and see if holes come back even though I currently have holes again. After that I told him if this goes further it will have to turn to a legal matter and he hung up on me because I said that. Very unprofessional I do not recommend this company. Also I called the corporate office to get copies of my work orders from previously and she finally answered after 3 days and then it's been a week and she still hasn't gotten me the copies. This company is terrible and is taking advantage of people. Also the gates from Camino Al Norte haven't been closed in 3-4 months so not sure why they even bother to call it a gated community read more

Stay Away!!! Been in my home 1yr and still have pending items with the warranty department. Master bath wasn't hooked up right and flooded 1st floor. When the maintenance team showed up they said anyone with our model tub will have the same problem, crappy model apparently. Closed 2 months past est. date. Still waiting from builder to get the paint colors to my interior (they don't leave any behind). Moved into my home with fixtures not even hung (in bathroom). Electrical issues had to be addressed our 1st month in our house. Brand new stove top only 3 burners out of 4 worked. Warranty department is a Nightmare and they don't fix anything that has to do with appliances. No Communication, at all. read more

One Star is being generous of this horrific experience! Nothing short of abusive and unprofessionalIsm from sales through walk through! As a realtor of my client and former new home sales for over 12 years of my 26 years in business. They are the worst I have ever dealt with. I will never show another home by them! Sales ignored my buyer and we had to remind them of our closing date. Had to get management involved and finally they decided to finish the flooring and home after being late. They of course had all kinds of excuses and we were the "bad guys". On the walk through today I was yelled at by Mark from Century homes that did the "home orientation " he was irate because when I noticed holes, dents, paint and alignment problems with the kitchen cabinets he told my buyer that it is standard to be that way and they won't repair it! Then he screamed at me and that I should leave because I suggested that they should be looked at and repaired. The poor sloppy work was unacceptable! He used very aggressive words and bullied me, I am a woman! He never showed how to operate the thermostat, window operations, etc until we asked but did spend 15 minutes on the irrigation box! The paint was so thin you could see through it, and dripped paint on entry door. The home was a mess but my buyer has no choice to close since the builder was so late. This was a standing inventory home. Also, no home warranty, manuals, or care manuals or information. So, I guess my buyer can expect the same lack of attention and care with taking care of wall through items and future issues!
