I spent a couple weeks gathering all the components I've been eyeing and made the pilgrimage down to Micro Center (in Tustin) to take advantage of a great MOBO/Proc/RAM bundle. The last time I built a PC was in 2008 and at this point in my life, I just wanted an expert to help me get everything running and optimized. Gar was that expert. This guy knows his stuff and I couldn't be happier with my (first) experience at Helix. He runs the shop by himself and is clearly a lifelong PC enthusiast. It was really cool to see all his customers more 'aesthetic' builds that were in progress. I'm old so I wanted something with as little RGB as possible (haha). He even has a mini museum of PC components from decades past on display which really sent me down a VERY nerdy memory lane. He put together a 9800X3D / 5080 air cooled monster and everything runs perfectly. He optimized Win11 and walked me through everything he did when I picked up the machine. I brought my laptop for repair after it started making a loud whirring noise and showed a warning…read moremessage of imminent hardware failure. Never a good thing. I chose Daily Computing Solutions because it had a convenient location, long hours posted (10-7 pm), and offered a free diagnostic work-up. Unfortunately, only the location turned out as expected. My bad experience entailed: 1. Arriving at 10:00 to drop off my computer, and they didn't open their doors until 10:40 - even though the sign clearly stated open at 10. 2. Calling multiple times and never having anyone pick up. 3. Waiting an extra day compared to what they promised for a diagnostic. 4. Getting an INCOMPLETE diagnostic on my computer -they did not check the fan or other parts as I mentioned in my original complaint. 5. Getting a HIGH price for repairs (the parts cost $100 so i guess they planned to charge $250 in labor?!?!) - with no guarantee that the repair would take since a full diagnostic wasn't done. 5. Coming by to pick up my computer at 4:00 after deciding not to use their repair service and the shop is inexplicably CLOSED again. 6. Calling to arrange a time to get my computer and nobody picks up because they are never open. HINTS: 1. If you really need to get a hold of somebody, try pressing the "sales" extension. That's how I finally got somebody to pick up the phone and locate my computer. 2. Don't come here if you are in ANY rush to have your computer fixed. 3. Don't be lazy like me - drive to pasadena or burbank to get real computer help. I ended up using "Connectionz Computer Repair" in Pasadena with great results for $150 less than this outfit quoted me. 4. Ask around for a better price- don't take their quote at face value.

Don't know how to start. My older laptop - had issue w/AC jack. Seems common with Asus. I…read moredescribed the problem & had it dropped off. Then they called & said they couldn't power it up. That it was the fan causing it to overheat, making it lose power. That is another common problem w/Asus. I told them no- it was not that but since I did hear the fan rattling - I asked that they do a thorough cleaning & lube to address the issue. They insisted it was the fan so I authorized replacing fan too. I asked if they couldn't power up the computer, how could they know?? So I get a call back saying computer would be ready in 4 days, since parts were coming in 2 days. I called the day before to find out that they never got the parts & they were waiting. I questioned why I wasn't told? Finally, they got the AC jack - but not the fan. I asked them to replace the jack at least & I would return for fan replacement. Once I got the laptop back, I noticed that the computer was working but the charging connection from the AC to Battery was no longer working. Prior to this, the computer was running only by battery power, not AC power. I told them to check if the connection somehow needed to be fixed & immediately was told that I would probably need a new battery since the Laptop was old. I told the receptionist (who refused to let me talk to a tech) why all of a sudden battery was issue when it had been running on Battery power for almost a year. Anyway - turns out the Fan was NOT the issue & they weren't able to fix the connectors & was told to order a new battery. Above which - I asked my C drive kept getting full & if they could please fix that issue. Had loooong discussion about 1 TB drive w/100GB C drive which was SSD. I asked aforehand, are your techs also software experts that could fix this issue & was told ofcourse (like I am idiot for asking). In the end - they could not fix anything other than the AC jack - which is what I had asked for to start & was told it was not the issue. The attitude was so bad, it was very uncomfortable. Everything I asked for was met with almost an argument. Needless to say, I will not be going back, not worth the headache.

Our small law firm has an old Lenovo computer that we use only for billing with outdated software…read moreand we wanted to avoid having to purchase the newer expensive version. The hard drive was failing and an IT tech recommended having it "imaged," which would result in an exact duplicate that would not require any software reauthentication. He also recommended Tech Care as the folks to do it. They initially tried doing an automatic imaging, which didn't take, so they attempted to manually image it and were successful. The computer now has a more reliable SSD drive (no moving parts) and it indeed works exactly as it used to (only faster). Eddie informed me that the old drive had maybe one month left before it completely failed. LIFE SAVERS!!! Eddie, Abed, Josh and everyone else I spoke to are top-notch guys, and the price to repair was eminently reasonable. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
