The hard drive was failing and an IT tech recommended having it "imaged," which would result in an exact duplicate that would not require any software reauthentication. He also recommended Tech Care as the folks to do it. They initially tried doing an automatic imaging, which didn't take, so they attempted to manually image it and were successful. The computer now has a more reliable SSD drive (no moving parts) and it indeed works exactly as it used to (only faster). Eddie informed me that the old drive had maybe one month left before it completely failed. LIFE SAVERS!!! Eddie, Abed, Josh and everyone else I spoke to are top-notch guys, and the price to repair was eminently reasonable. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Instead of trying to upsell me on a repair, he was completely honest and told me that putting money into an older model might not be the best use of my money. He went above and beyond by suggesting newer laptop options that are comparable and available at better price points. On top of that, he even told me that if I did decide to replace the battery myself, I could email him and he'd let me know exactly what to buy and where to get it. That level of honesty and helpfulness is rare. I left feeling thoroughly satisfied with their customer service and recommendations. Don't know how to start. My older laptop - had issue w/AC jack. Seems common with Asus. I…read moredescribed the problem & had it dropped off. Then they called & said they couldn't power it up. That it was the fan causing it to overheat, making it lose power. That is another common problem w/Asus. I told them no- it was not that but since I did hear the fan rattling - I asked that they do a thorough cleaning & lube to address the issue. They insisted it was the fan so I authorized replacing fan too. I asked if they couldn't power up the computer, how could they know?? So I get a call back saying computer would be ready in 4 days, since parts were coming in 2 days. I called the day before to find out that they never got the parts & they were waiting. I questioned why I wasn't told? Finally, they got the AC jack - but not the fan. I asked them to replace the jack at least & I would return for fan replacement. Once I got the laptop back, I noticed that the computer was working but the charging connection from the AC to Battery was no longer working. Prior to this, the computer was running only by battery power, not AC power. I told them to check if the connection somehow needed to be fixed & immediately was told that I would probably need a new battery since the Laptop was old. I told the receptionist (who refused to let me talk to a tech) why all of a sudden battery was issue when it had been running on Battery power for almost a year. Anyway - turns out the Fan was NOT the issue & they weren't able to fix the connectors & was told to order a new battery. Above which - I asked my C drive kept getting full & if they could please fix that issue. Had loooong discussion about 1 TB drive w/100GB C drive which was SSD. I asked aforehand, are your techs also software experts that could fix this issue & was told ofcourse (like I am idiot for asking). In the end - they could not fix anything other than the AC jack - which is what I had asked for to start & was told it was not the issue. The attitude was so bad, it was very uncomfortable. Everything I asked for was met with almost an argument. Needless to say, I will not be going back, not worth the headache.
