"A solicited review consists of yelpers with few reviews, a recently created yelp, no pictures etc. those yelpers are paid by a review service to bring up the business's rating & review count." I am in laughter at myself for falling for a stupidity act like this. My Lexus master cylinder failed on me, which ends up having the brake system not functional, 4 lights on the dash and a constant beeping noise. Called the shop, they said they can do it for $220 WITH BLEEDING the system, which is exactly what I needed. I provided my own master cylinder, which I know for a fact is 100% functional. Upon arrival the next day at 6pm, i waited 10-15 minutes while Cesar & his friends were laughing around and going to different shops. Finally, I was informed lights and noise is gone, but brakes still go to the floor. I wasn't too big on the installation part since a 6 year old kid could even do that, I was more pissed they DIDNT bleed it, even though "they said they did." Come on, there's no cars you guys were working on, installation is straight forward, and the only thing that might need some elbow grease and labor is, bleeding the system (coming from someone that has been working on his own cars for 6+ years) I continuously said, there is air in the system and Cesar continuously said, we don't know what's wrong with it. I didn't want to bother anymore since they were closing. Called the next day to see if they want to make things straight before I post a review and just wanted to test to see how "great" their customer service is.. Wanted to charge me $70 to bleed the brakes again! Charge me for something they didn't do? I'll take my business elsewhere but here's an extra star for installing it right (so far). Went to Terry's Auto in San Marcos, did a brake inspection for me which I didn't mind paying for, but at no charge. They bled it, removed air from the system, test drove it, and Walah! Problem SOLVED! Didn't even take more than 30 minutes. Back here a week later getting more service done, which could've been done with Cesar's Auto Mechanic but what a dishonest place. I like to support local businesses, but in order to get customers, need to provide quality and honesty. You failed just right there. I highly recomend Cesar. I was quoted $1700.00 to replace bolth my catilic converters from Roberts auto repair they worked on it twice charging $362.00 . I just did not feel confident that what they were telling me was the answer .So I stoped by Cesar's He said it would be very unlikely that Bolth converters would quit at the same time .For $85.00 he wold check everything out from top to bottom . With a written discount on the labor if they completed the job. When I returned with the part he gave a different estimate and would not honor his writen discount.even though it's hanging on a sign in the office. Cesar is honest, fair, & awesome. I had a "check engine" light & he said it would fail the smog test. He used his OBD & checked what's wrong for free! He gave me the trouble codes (P0442, P1415, & P1416). Most smog shop would've tested with the check engine light on & still charge you despite failing. I asked Cesar to diagnosed my truck so that I know exactly what is wrong & what I need to replace/fix. He charged me a fair price & he showed me exactly where the parts are located on my truck. I*f I could give this place a negative star I would I was in a hurry to leave town needed to get my Truck smogged so my boyfriend would have something to drive so I stopped at Cesar's this was a huge mistake! I was wondering what was taking so long and I see him all the way under my Truck after about 20 minutes he comes crawling out and comes my way. This is where he starts the well sweetheart your truck passed everything except the visual inspection . I am over 50 years old and have had more than my fair share of vehicles smogged in my day and I don't remember seeing any of them going under my truck before if they did it was for a minute not long enough to make a dam sandwich . Ok back to my results I said can you please explain this to me because I don't understand ? He said well you have passed the diagnostic part of the tests I said is that where you hook the truck up to the machine to see if it is a polluter ? He laughed and said yes and the machine said it was not it passed all of the tests but then I got under your truck and scrubbed all of the dirt off of the undercarriage and you have a after market muffler that was put on your truck and it looks like it might have a converter that is the wrong model # for your truck . I can fix that for you tomorrow if you can leave me a deposit of $400.00 so I can order the new one then you can pay the balance of $298.00 after the work is finished tomorrow . I am thinking WTF??????? Then said 1st of all I am Not Your Sweet Heart and 2nd If the truck passed why would you get underneath it and start looking for problems? Now my truck is flagged and it is going to cost $1300.00 minimum to fix it and I don't have that kind of money. That truck is a 2000 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 6 cyl I bought it used * years ago and it is a great truck It has never had a problem passing smog before. I went to Cesar on a very short notice. I recently bought my 1984 Ford LTD Crown Victoria. I tried to smog it and it failed the evap test. I had gone with another mechanic in Oceanside just to find out they had no idea what they were doing. Every where else was completely booked for the week and I needed it done as soon as possible. I went in and he found out what the problem was. Pricing was way better than what I expected and even found some problems that he fixed on his own just because.
