If you want to be transported straight to a sidewalk café in Paris without leaving Sarasota, C'est La Vie is the place. It's a small, quaint spot with an amazing atmosphere, but definitely be prepared to wait if you're coming for brunch it's very popular for a reason! The wait was absolutely worth it, though. I started with a cappuccino, and it was perfection rich, smooth, and exactly what you need to wake up. For food, the savory crepe was outstanding. It had that perfect authentic texture slightly crisp on the edges and soft in the middle. I also tried the cauliflower soup, which was a surprising highlight. It was incredibly creamy and flavorful honestly, one of the best soups I've had in a long time. Highly recommend this gem if you're in the area!

Stopped in after the farmers market for a quick bite. We were greeted and was fortunate to have an outdoor seat on a beautiful morning. I ordered the ham and cheese croissant with potatoes. The food came out quick and looked amazing. The croissant was still flaky after being covered in the delicious cheese and over easy egg. Overall, it was a great breakfast to start the day!

Nice place, French style... too small for the traffic but good food and pastries. Service French way.. not super super but ok. The pate delicious, hogs presentation.. recommended. Just need more eating room..

Looking for an awesome breakfast/lunch place with some of the best fresh pastries around. Then C' est La Vie is where you want to be. Everything and I mean everything is fresh, cooked perfectly and the service is fantastic. It is a small place inside but they also have a nice patio area with umbrella covered tables. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

Great place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Only been for breakfast and lunch though and imagine dinner is just as good. This place is reasonably priced for French food as well. Their pastries are always on point and the iced capp is good as well. You really can't go wong with anything you order but the croque madame is magic. This place is always busy so these servers are consistently hustling and they're friendly to boot. They have ample seating outdoors and indoors is cozy. Love coming here everytime I'm in town.

Coffee was great! Pastries were amazing! The crepes were just ok but they're big so you can share with someone... small place but feels homey... the younger staff is nice! There is an older gentleman there that owns the place maybe and he kind of hovers which is a little uncomfortable and when I asked him for napkins he sent someone else which is kind of odd but other than that it's a nice spot.

Lovely place for breakfast in the area. Lots of good French food options! We ordered a Normandy crepe, ham and Swiss baguette & croissant. Cafe au lait was divine and one of our top 5's. Pastries were all tasty. Croissant could be a bit more on the "crispy" side but delish nonetheless. Give this place a try! Service was decent despite how busy it was.

Pretty authentic French bistro. This was our second visit and our group enjoyed our meal. The savory crepe is light and delicious. The quiche was outstanding. Fluffy and tasty. Don't miss the bakery items- croissants are buttery and so so good- baked fresh daily. Hard to choose between all. Seating outside is enjoyable under the umbrella. If you're there early enough you can just walk up and sit down.

I'm bumping my rating up to 5 stars for this place. It's become one of our favorites!! Yes, it gets busy & can be overcrowded at times & the waitresses can be rushed & a bit short but c'mon that's 100% the feel of an authentic French cafe!!! Once you enter you will feel like you've been transported to Paris!! While I haven't been to France in many years, when I eat here I do try brushing up on my French! :) Their pastries are decadent & we can't leave without a couple things to go. We've tried most everything on the menu from the soups to sandwiches, quiche, crepes, salads, paninis, ... everything is delicious. Can't say we have a favorite order but do enjoy their quiches very much as they're not available at many places. Great location. Parking is usually never a problem between the meters & lots.

Beautiful sunny day to eat brunch outside the restaurant. Staff was very friendly but our waiter wasn't really attentive with us. Didn't ask if we needed anything such as ketchup or water while other tables were serviced with such. Food was on par. My norveigan salmon crepe tasted kinda like a calzone still very good. Everything was cooked to perfection. Potatoes were cooked well also, not oily and very light to eat.

    Lovely outdoor dining

His enthusiasm and hospitality set the tone for the entire evening, and it's clear that the staff shares the same passion for creating an exceptional dining experience. Everyone works together seamlessly to make sure every guest feels welcomed and well cared for. We chose Antoine's to celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary, and it couldn't have been a better choice. It's the perfect restaurant for a special occasion. The food was outstanding. We started with the mussels, and I've never seen such an extensive selection anywhere else--there must have been at least 10 different preparations to choose from. The duck and the scallops, both house specialties, were cooked perfectly and absolutely lived up to their reputation. To finish, we shared the French puff pastry filled with warm, melted Belgian chocolate. It was pure heaven and the perfect ending to an unforgettable meal. If you're looking for an authentic Belgian-French dining experience with incredible food and even better hospitality, Antoine's is a true hidden gem in Sarasota. Glowing Review of Figaro Bistro…read more My wife and I, along with friends, recently had the pleasure of attending a 5-course French Wine Dinner event at Figaro Bistro and it was nothing short of extraordinary. Nestled in the charming Hillview area of Sarasota, Florida, this quaint bistro is a culinary gem that truly deserves praise. The start of our culinary journey began with a robust Charcuterie presentation, a delightful assortment of cured meats, cheeses, and flavorful accompaniments. This was perfectly paired with a refreshing Rosé that complemented the richness of the charcuterie. I didn't know it yet, but it set the tone for what was to become an exquisite evening. Next, we enjoyed the Salad au Blue et Noix, which featured delectable blue cheese and candied walnuts. Each bite was beautifully balanced, and the dish was perfectly paired with a lovely Côte de Rhône that elevated the flavors even further. The main courses were astounding and truly the stars of the evening. Having sampled French Cuisine around the globe, I can say the Sea Bass with Parmesan Risotto was nothing short of a revelation. Without hesitation or reservation, it truly was one of the top three entrees I have ever experienced in my life. Everyone at our table wholeheartedly agreed. The fish was perfectly cooked, and the risotto was creamy with a delightful Parmesan kick. It was paired with a magnificent White Bordeaux that enhanced the entire dish. Equally impressive was the Boeuf Bourguignon, which melted in the mouth and was accompanied by a similarly excellent Burgundy Bordeaux. Without a doubt, these dishes showcased the chef's incredible talent and passion for French cuisine. To conclude our meal, (as if we could possibly eat any more) we indulged in a superb Poire Belle-Hélène, a classic dessert that was elegantly paired with Champagne. This delightful finale encapsulated the entire dining experience--rich, balanced, and utterly satisfying. Cozy Atmosphere and Heartfelt Hospitality The atmosphere at Figaro Bistro was cozy and inviting, perfect for an intimate dinner or a special celebration. Chef Ronny, even took the time to come out and engage with us, sharing insights into the various dishes we were served. The new owner Sue and her daughter Erika were genuinely warm, caring, and down-to-earth, adding a personal touch to the evening that made us feel truly valued as guests. Having sampled some of the finest cuisines from around the world, I can confidently say that Figaro Bistro stands out among them. This small, quaint establishment in Sarasota has cultivated a dining experience that's exceptional and memorable. I left feeling enriched, and I can't wait to return to explore more of their exquisite offerings.

We were guests in what our hosts described as "their favorite restaurant" and Yelp awards a 4-stars review...my conclusion was: either the restaurant was having a really bad night or reviewers have lost their understanding of what a 4-stars restaurant should be like. Our hosts ordered a bottle of white Bordeaux which the owner poured in our glasses as if she was pouring the lowly Sarasota water, filled our glasses almost to the top practically emptying the bottle. Then it was time to order, the lady host asked for the foie gras appetizer which she had absolutely recommended...Sorry, we are out! Appetizers: we ordered 2 Escargots, and the Homemade Country Pâté. The Escargots in herb butter were tasteless (I had to add some salt) and one of the snails was full of stones and grit. Main course: I asked for the Homemade Country Pâté which was portioned significantly less than what our host had gotten...was it to punish me for ordering 2 appetizers? My husband ordered the lamb chops...4 chops cooked to the point where they were tough, and a potato gratin reminiscent of a brick. Our hosts ordered the Pork Marco Polo and the Smoked Salmon Salad. I cannot comment on their entrees even though a comment was made that the pork was overcooked. The Salmon Salad did not look appetizing. But, the 'pièce de resistance' was when our host ordered Crêpe Suzette and was told that 'we are out of orange jam'...whaaat? You can find orange jam in any grocery store, you should never run out of orange jam. We have dined in many restaurant that we felt were subpar, this one won first price. Needless to say, will never go back.
