During the appointment, she was taking other clients, had me blow-dry my own hair at one point, and took multiple personal phone calls. When I asked a simple question about the flat iron temperature--something I've asked other stylists--she snapped and accused me of bringing "negative energy." I was shocked and felt belittled just for being curious about my own hair. She also denied the discount we had agreed on via text and wanted more money. After I showed her our messages, she told me to "pay whatever you want." I ended up Venmoing her $500 just to avoid conflict. I left with a headache from the treatment and feeling really hurt that I spent that kind of money and was treated so poorly. 5.13.23 I had a keratin treatment last year and the smell was so awful and I had eye and respiratory irritations. I researched and learned about Cezanne which is a better and safer alternative because it does not have formaldehyde. Also, the smell was more aromatic. I visited cezanne-hair.com and Mona's salon was on there. Her office is located in Old Georgetown Office Park. From afar you won't see her office number because it's on the lower level. My appointment started with a hair wash followed by a haircut. Mona informed me that my hair was in dire need of a cut and that I should be getting it trimmed every 3-4 months. I decided on getting a straight haircut to make it look fuller rather than layered. After she put the Cezanne treatment into my hair, I sat for 25 minutes for the product to set in. Afterwards, she straightened my hair. Once Mona worked her magic, my hair was super shiny and smooth! I'm ready for the summer heat and frizz and it will be nice to be able to get up and go. She recommended only washing my hair once or twice a week and rinse the other days and to only use sulfate-free products. Mona is very personable and it was lovely learning about her. I am impressed how much she has accomplished since being in the states for nine years. She is talented at what she does and her salon is lovely. Highly recommend Mona. read more

I discovered Mona on Instagram after searching for 3 years for a competent, expert hairstylist and colorist in the DMV area. From the moment I met her, she was attentive, kind, and patiently listened to my concerns. She asked me kindly if I would be open to her suggestions on additional issues with my hair, and she made some valid points. She not only gave me a great haircut, but she educated me on my hair quality and how to best tackle some issues with uneven growth and color that I was having. I returned about 1.5 months later and she was able to fix much of my hair color unevenness caused by another colorist by giving me a very flattering and gorgeous set of full highlights. She also outlined a plan for us to tackle the stubborn brassiness at the bottom of my hair with future haircuts and toning sessions. I've been told by several friends and family that my hair has never looked better IN MY LIFE, and it feels amazing to not only have great hair but have met such a great artist who cares about my beauty needs. I also appreciate that she has her own large salon space which affords more privacy and comfort, rather than renting a chair in a crowded retail floor. Mona is a gem. I've been going to her for several years and followed her from her last salon to her current place. She does a consistently awesome job on my cuts and highlights, always giving honest feedback on what will work best for my hair and delivering beautiful results. She's so sweet and easy to talk to, but also relaxed and laid back (whereas some stylists will talk your ear off for two hours straight, which can be a bit much). I also love that her new space is private, so there isn't the chaos and noise of a typical high-traffic salon.
