I called in an order for pick-up and the food was ready within 20 minutes. It was near closing time so it was not too crowded or loud. The food portions were generous, especially the eggplant garlic sauce. The food was tasty, not pictured is the house fried rice which included eggs, scallion, shrimp and beef, it was a little oily as expected but very tasty!

I have been craving Chinese food and we always come back to CF Cheng. We have been coming here for years. No one else makes the hand shredded chicken with jelly fish like they do! It's so good and tasty. We also got the deep fried cod with salty egg yolk. There is plenty of salty egg yolk but we wish it was more on the fish rather than on the bottom. The salt and pepper pork chop is typical like any other restaurant.

Friend delivered takeout and it was delicious! She indicated it didn't take long and was ready incredibly quickly. 5/5 beef chow fun. I've been looking for favorite for a while and this will def be my new go-to in the area. The noodles were thin compared to other thick and clumpy ones I've had recently. It was nice to have thinner noodles and balanced bites. Meat was tender. The onions and green onions were well balanced also and not overwhelming. 5/5 garlic green beans had huge garlic chunks. Add some chili oil it and it was perfect. This will be my new go-to for beef chow fun!

I called over the phone. I was able to ask the difference between the regular wonton. And the war wonton I know able to get my explanation pretty easily. The second one obviously comes with more comes with bok choy, which is really good and it comes with some meats and some shrimp I could go without the shrimp. I'm not a real big fan of the pork I don't know why however it could be beef. I'm just not sure. I really love the wontons. I could actually eat a whole thing of the wonton by itself. I was really impressed with the packaging so that way it wasn't sitting there in the juices I was able to pull it out and put it into my bowl. The wontons 5/5 The flu has taken over my house and this was the best thing to eat while sick

I got beef brocolli, chicken wings , and sweet and sour pork . I get the economy probably is the cause of the adjustments to the amount of beef, but the sauce, really. I tried mixing it and it cannot even coat half of the brocolli. The chicken wings is now half the size but my issue is, it is close to being burnt and the oil used is old. Very disappointed. Used to like this place, no more!!

Oh how the mighty have fallen. Over a decade ago CF Cheng was the best authentic Chinese restaurant in town. I am not sure when the change of ownership took place but the kitchen has suffered greatly. The food is no longer perfectly seasoned in fact often it lacks flavor at all. The beef chow fun gravy style with greens is my go to dish. The last 3-4 times I have ordered it there is so little sauce the noodles are still white ! There are still some good things here. The pork and shrimp wonton soup is still the best wonton in Sacramento but in general the food is bland or under seasoned. If you want ok food CF Cheng can provide it.

One of the top Chinese places in Natomas. It's a small restaurant with very basic ambience and doesn't look inviting but that shouldn't stop you from trying this place the service and food makes up for what masks in ambience. We ordered chicken fried rice, crispy chicken wings, chicken buns, kung pao chicken, sesame balls, and the sautéed pea sprouts. Everything was yummy, but the kung pao chicken was the best! I only wish that they wud add a little less oil. Don't miss out on good Chinese spot at Natomas!

In a nutshell; Pretty good solid chinese food The PF changs nearby seems to only be doing take out now so CF Cheng it is. Not quite sure if the owners know each other but the naming convention makes it seem so. Parking isn't a problem as it is in a good sized lot with other businesses. Not the biggest place but still has a decent number of tables. Food is filling and for sure worth the amount or price that accompanies any of the menu choices. Servers were accommodating. Overall isn't anything entirely unique but if you're looking for chinese food that's for sure to be chinese comfort food then this is a place to consider.

CF or PF? They sounded alike. I don't know anything about the Chinese food in Sacramento, but, I gave them a try on a recent business trip. They didn't disappoint. I ordered a seafood pan fried noodle and a hand sheared chicken with jellyfish by phone. The seafood pan fried noodles came with shrimp, squid and bok choy. It had plenty of sauce. The hand sheared chicken came with juicy chicken pieces atop a bed of jellyfish and garnished with green onions. Both dishes made for a good dinner. Service was good. The guy taking my order on the phone spoke both Chinese and English. They food was ready when I arrived. It was a good place. I think they were better than the other PF place for my taste buds.

I decided to try a different Chinese restaurant and received mixed reactions toward the quality of the food. I was disappointed that they do not serve fish, lobster, and crab during the weeknights. The hot and sour soup was just okay. It was more sour than spice. The fried chicken was extremely overcooked and very dry. I was disappointed that the clay pot rice was not crispy on the bottom. The sauce was not well seasoned. No complaints on the ma pao tofu and the salted fish fried rice. Despite the mixed quality of food, I would like to dine in again on the weekends to try their seafood dishes.

Great authentic food! I look forward to top notch Chinese cuisine when I travel to Ca. I found this gem on yelp and glad I came. I will add this to my travel each time I'm in Sacramento. Service is slow so be prepared to be patient. The phone rings off the hook from phone orders if that tells you something.

Best Chinese restaurant in Natomas! I always come here if I am craving Chinese food... It's a tiny little place, but the food is very authentic. You can even ask the cook to make you something if it's not on the menu. Some of the best items they have is the salt & pepper pork chops, beef with sautéed veggies, and sweet & sour pork. But, if you want something for that special occasion, the whole lobster with noodles is a must try! Everything I've tried here has been very good! C.f. chengs over PF Changs! :) read more

Really nice hole in the wall spot! They have a ton of food options and they're all really well made. Nothing tasted frozen or not made with care. The staff was nice and the restaurant was cozy and clean. If you have a little one they have cute little kid plates and utensils for them, which is a nice touch since most places don't have this. I would recommend this place if you're feeling something better than Panda and cheaper than Fats. read more

This review is long overdue. I've been going to CF Cheng for years. I'm going to say it.... this is the best Chinese restaurant in Sacramento and if anyone has any other recommendations let me know because every other place I've gone to in Sacramento comes second so far. I enjoy their chow mein, fried rice, roasted chicken, peking ribs, salt and pepper shrimp. So tasty. read more

This is easily one of the best Chinese restaurants around. Ask for the Chinese menu, not the regular menu, there's a huge difference. This place is very small and getting a table is a challenge. Why not use the side walk right outside the restaurant for a few outdoor seatings? We horribly miss Michael who was so attentive and funny. We kept coming back to this place because of him and the other waitress. Both of them no longer work there. read more

Pea Sprouts with Garlic was a completely amazing dish! It was a bit pricey for just veggies, but it was so good. Overall, we were so impressed that the food wasn't too salty -a common problem at all Chinese restaurants. We added a light sprinkle of salt but would ALWAYS prefer the option of adding salt. read more

My husband and I have been looking for a good Chinese place in the area since we moved here and we checked out this place and we love it!! It is small but it doesn't feel cramped. Authentic Chinese restaurant in Sacramento area. Best beef chow fun, shredded chicken is also one of my favorites. You can't go wrong with anything you pick here. The food here is SO good. Very tasty, well-made food at great prices, good service. Ate here once for dinner on a whim while visiting Sacramento a few months ago and came back the very next day for lunch AND take out to bring home right after. Counting down the days til I can come back! Superior soy chow mein and chinese broccoli with garlic should always be ordered with your meal. Went there yesterday with my in laws. They said this is the best Chinese food they have had in the Natomas area in five years. There has been a lot of restaurants moving in and out and this one being in a small strip mall did seem all that impressive. The service was quick and food came out piping hot. Dishes could be a little lighter on the salt and use of sugar but otherwise very tasty and filling. Can't wait to try it in the winter when I can try some of their other warm comfort foods. Great menu and wide variety. read more

We always come here for take out. We live nearby so this is actually our go to for chinese food. I can say the food here is delicious. Our favorite are the Honey Walnut Shrimp, Broccoli Beef, Hongkong Style Fried Noodles. This place is better than Panda Express and PF Changs. Pricier compared to Panda Express but cheaper than PF Chang. The only thing I gave this place 3 stars is because they messed up our order twice. Same problem, something to do with their system they said. We were told to come pick up the food about 40 mins. So we did. But we ended up waiting in line for another 30 mins after getting to the place. I'm sure if you waited for about an hour and a half you'd think your food was ready.. but no. The worse part was that while we waited for our food other people came and ordered but got their food in 15 mins. I asked the ladies at the front why that happened, we were only told our receipt were not printed well. No compensation was made nor free water or fortune cookies LOL bad customer service for me. I would probably not order here anymore if only there was a different Chinese restaurant near us. read more

I am verrrry surprised by only 3 1/2 stars for this place because it's some of the Chinese food I've had in 18+ years of living in Sacramento. Decided to take a chance because the pictures looked so good. Stopped in for some take-out and the service was very good. I ordered won ton soup, chicken-fried rice, and honey walnut prawns. They were all excellent! Lots of prawns with not too much costing. The rice was delicious and not at all greasy. And, I'm just now eating the soup after three days and it also delicious! I will definitely be back; can't wait to try some other stuff! read more

If I could give this restaurant 1,000 stars I would. Service: This place is fairly small on the inside with a few times along the sides and a couple of family tables in the middle of the floor. We were seated right away but the restaurant was full of couples and large families with lots of kids. With that being said...this place is kid friendly. The server was very friendly and our food came quickly. Atmosphere: CF Changs is the apidimy of hustle and bustle. There are people coming in to pick up their orders for take out, dishes flying past you at all speeds and a simply fun place to sit and watch. We were seated next to the kitchen, therefore we were able to watch the prep work as well. The flare is casual dining and loud since its a family friendly place. Although the couple next to us seemed to be on a romantic date, I would not recommend CF Changs for that type of atmosphere. Food: Here is where the 1000 stars come in. By far the best Chinese food in Sacramento. I was blown away. The flavors were on point and fresh. We absolutely loved everything we ordered and even fought over the left overs the next day. I would not recommend anything specific as we ordered several different items and everything was awesome. Parking: Small strip mall type of parking lot. There were no issues in finding a place. OMG! This is the best Chinese restaurant in California. I am a Chinese and I dare to say that CF Cheng's food are better than many restaurant in China. I love their "Steam pork with squid" very much! also their "Oyster Pot with ginger" ! I always recommend my friends to go to CF Cheng for Dinner, and everyone love it too! One of my family favorites...salt and pepper porkchops!!! We always order this when we do take out nights. Their food is good, a little bit pricey, but you get what you paid for. I rather pay a little bit more to get better tasting food anyways. I love their salted fish and chicken fried rice too! I like this place. Fresh. Not too fancy but everything's good. I like coming here for the noodle soups and my favorite is the beef stew noodle. And they make a homemade chili paste to add to the soup. Perfect for cold days. read more

Gross. General chicken was old, the Chow Fun noodles were overcooked and stuck together. The vegetables are good. I suggest stick with rice and meat that isn't battered. A waste of 30.00. Had to throw it away. It was not edible or better still not a moderate standard. Would give it no stars if I could. First and last time for me. read more

CF Chang's has been one of our go to for Chinese food during Covid lockdown. The food always tastes fresh and the service is good. Lucky for us it was open on 4th of July. We ordered the chicken chow fun(ask for the wet style, chicken with mixed vegetables, chicken fried rice, ginger beef and fried wings. Everything tasted delicious and the portions were very generous as well. The chow fun was one of the best I have had in a while - it came with carrots, bok choy and chicken. I don't eat beef so I have to take my husband's word for it, which he said was pretty good. Please support our local businesses! read more

Happy New Year! Yesterday was the first time we've had bad service. It wasn't busy when we went to pick up our to go meal. They charged us for honey walnut prawns, yet forgot to give to us. The lady on the phone hassled my husband. He eventually went back down to the restaurant which isn't close to where we live. No apologies. No nothing. We got our dish, but when he opened it at home it was very scarce. WTH? We've always chosen this place as our choice for Chinese food, but we may have to look elsewhere. Surprised such bad service and attitude for being Chinese New Years Day. Let's hope incidents like this don't bring "bad luck". read more

Not many great spots in natomas area. This is my go to spot in this area for Chinese food. Always getting salt pepper pork chops and ginger fried rice. Haven't tried everything there. Only a few times of the many times I been here has the food been meh. read more

They do a lot of togo business because they only have a handful of tables. You are better off ordering togo if you don't want to wait.

Part of a strip mall with other retailers and restaurants. Well, it was new to see so many signs posted about watch your cars as there's theft. A complete surprise to me. Guess in the area it a common thing. Anyway, the restaurant itself was decent in size. Plenty of parking available. Sunday and it was mellow in a sense. Still pretty busy but we didn't have to wait for a table. It's not your traditional Chinese dim sum restaurant with the carts walking down the aisle and you picking what you want. Here, they give you the menu and you mark down how many items you want. Both dim sum and traditional dishes are on there. Price wise, it's fairly decent but some dishes were a bit pricey compared to other places. Still worth checking out. Mark what you want on the menu which they then take and dishes are brought out. Of course we had to have the classic. Shu Mai and so on. Bbq pork slices, Chinese broccoli in oyster sauce, sticky rice in banana leaves, to name a few. The dim sum did come out pretty fast. Classic Chinese dishes like the chow fun did come out a little later as it had to be made. Overall, the food was quite tasty. I do see why my friends did recommend this place. It was a nice crowd of people that was here for brunch. Loads of family enjoying their meal. For our group, the bill came just under 300. They did include gratuities to it which they did inform us. We got a decent amount of dim sum as well as the other dishes. Food was good and service was great. All the staffs were very friendly and sweet. Drinks were refilled pretty fast after asking. Would definitely be back when we're in the area.

The milk tea was rich, smooth, and perfectly comforting, while the beef teppanyaki was served sizzling hot with tender beef, flavorful rice, and just the right amount of seasoning. The customer service was excellent as well. If you're looking for a casual spot with tasty food, great drinks, and good service, Flame Cafe is definitely worth checking out. My favorites were the chow mein because of the thick noodles and it had a great flavor and the fried rice with all the meats. The egg rolls also hit the spot with a side of sweet & sour sauce. I wasn't a fan of the sweet & sour pork which is usually my favorite and the orange chicken was 'mid'. I might get this place again but I do have other more favorable Chinese restaurants.

There is a good amt of seating but let me tell you, it fills up FAST. The menu is EXPANSIVE with tons of options for omnivores and vegetarians alike. My friends shared the pork xlbs and we got the garlic green beans and the garlic noodles to share as well! The soy/vinegar and chili oil they give for dipping is so good and hits that perfect note between salty/tangy/spicy. When we told the server, which was an older lady with glasses and bangs, she's like oh... then she took it to the kitchen and pretended that nothing had ever happened when she came back out. Shes been there for years, and I remember seeing her when we were regulars. I wasn't expecting anything, except for some accountability. I used to love this place so it's pretty sad to see how much it went downhill.... This business needs to be scrapped. The current 3 stars is giving them too much credit and it must have been due to when they used to be good, in the past.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at CF Cheng, a fantastic Chinese restaurant that my friend highly recommended. Since I was in the area for jury duty, I decided to stop by for lunch, and I'm so glad I did! I called in my order, and it was ready within just 10 minutes, making the whole experience incredibly convenient. The service was great and fast, which I really appreciated during my busy day. I ordered the fried rice with salt and pepper pork chops, along with a side of hot and sour soup. I couldn't wait, so I tried it right in my car, and let me tell you, every bite was bursting with flavor! The dishes were generous in portion size, especially considering the price only $15 for such a satisfying meal. The only downside I noticed was the small seating area, which can limit how many people can dine in at once. However, the quality of the food and the efficient service more than makes up for it. I can't wait to come back and explore more of their menu. CF Cheng is definitely a gem worth the drive! read more

The best and most authentic Chinese food you can get in the Natomas. The place is small and every time I go there for dinner on the weekends, there is always a wait. But luckily the staff here are very friendly and accommodating. One time I went there on a Friday night during the dinner rush but there was a 30 minute wait. I didn't want to wait so the wife and I decided we were going to go elsewhere. But the waitress was Very nice and wanted to do what she can to make a stay. So she even offered to put a table outside for us to sit. So sweet. The food here taste authentic and not like those fast food type overly sauce and everything fried Chinese places. You can always count on getting soup before your dinner and dessert afterwards. I would recommend this place for anyone who wants good authentic Chinese food. read more

I'm still drinking water and using mouthwash to remove the nasty taste from my mouth! My wife and I were craving some chinese and we live minutes from the place. We ordered a bowl of saltwater, i mean won ton soup. SERIOUSLY, it tasted like SALTWATER. Raleys or Safeway frozen won ton soup tastes better. It was that bad folks- The other item we ordered was chow fun, for all those are not familiar with that dish. Its white noodles fried. I've never had it mushy before but they managed to mess up that up too! My wife and I were forced the food down because we felt we had to get something out of it. Monumental mistake. CF Cheng is our family's favorite restaurant in the middle of bay area and lake Tahoe trip. CF Cheng makes very authentic Chinese food, such as hand pulled chicken, beef and cabbage in soup, smoked sea bass. Yummy. This week, after eating the great food, we rushed into the car, and forgot my dog's food tray in front of restaurant. We called them to help to collect it. Five days later, we stops at CF Cheng when we are back from Tahoe, and my dog is so happy to find his food tray back. Thanks CF Cheng. read more

If you leave a review about Orange Chicken, Egg Rolls or Sweet & Sour Pork....... .......Sugar covered deep fried Shrimp & Walnuts or Crab stuffed Rangoons.....you're a rangoon. Nobody takes your review seriously. Quit while you're ahead gweilo. Maybe you'd be better off leaving a review of Pad Thai at the Thai Restaurant or, Chimichangas at the Mexican joint gringo. read more

Where's all the good reviews came from? Ordered some hand shredded chicken with jellyfish, chicken were served in big pieces with big slices of skins on top? Everything was jello soft with no texture? CF Cheng with a simple decor and homely ambience sprang a surprise with the authentic chinese food. The Dimsums, Eggplant dish and Claypot Rice were out of the world. Being vegetarian, it is rare to find a chinese restaurant serving you to satisfy the palate. CFC is defintely better in food, low on value, average on ambience and definitely slow on service. Overall, still very satisfying. read more

This place is probably one of my favorite chinese restaurants in the area. The restaurant itself is pretty small but it makes for better customer service in my opinion. I like their salt n pepper pork chops with fried rice. The food here is not overly saucy and sweet like other chinese places. Here, it reminds me of my go to spots for chinese take out in SF. Ordered general tofu and crab Rangoon. I'm sure the general tofu is good but they didn't give me any rice. So there's that... Edit: So this is a first for me.
