We live in the Independent side of the complex and are amazed at the opportunities we have for socializing, celebrating holidays, weekly social hours and plenty of Activities. Personally we enjoy the Pool and Jacuzzi (Both salt water) Bowling which is every level and a great place to meet new friends. I will admit that for a few months there were Meal issues, service, however Mosaic has gone to work by bringing us an Incredible Executive Director , Amazing Chef who cooks amazing meals, and New Dinning Manager who trains Servers and they are now properly trained and a wonderful eating expreience. Today is October Fest Bratwurst, pretzels with cheese beer dip and I could go on.... Our recent Chocolate Fest was sooo sooo good. I presonally enjoy taking time for card games as well as paint classes etc etc. etc. The holidays are coming and they provide wonderful dinners... and your family is included as well. My husband and I have some activity about every day. I assure you we looked at every place in Shasta and Tehama County. NOTHING COMPARED TO THE EXCELLENCE they provide to their residence. A recent change in Management and addition of new Employees has made a huge turn around.. Management is open to speak with and always responds in a positive matter. THE BEST PART IS . . . . . . . THEY HAVE JUST ADDED A DR. JOHN NEPOMUCENO, A Primary Care Doctor to serve our needs. We have already signed up to be his patient and he and his staff exceed any expectations you might have. He truly a warm and understanding Doctor who truly cares about the quaslity of life for his patients. THANK YOU, Mosaic and Tracy our Executive Director. Tha all time best part... I have NOT COOKED A MEAL for 14 Months.

Sherry Mundt, is the friendliest and most caring marketing director, as she guides you through the process of moving your parent into their residence all the way through Mom's passing. Each step was with true compassion and loving care. Sherry even remembers everyone's name along the way! Brenda Saephan, the memory care coordinator, was also a dream. She was available to help in any way we needed, showcasing the excellent food choices, the incredible and creative activities staff and the loving resident assistants who are all truly angels for their loving care of each and every resident. Our family, not all being local, were able to call in daily and speak with Mom, each time greeted by a kind and gracious team member, and we always heard their love for Mom, even over the phone. Our family also has a heritage of owning, operating and working in long term care facilities, so we really know what to look for and what to expect. The Vistas exceeded our expectations and hopes. Mom was so happy and well loved. We will be forever grateful for the moments in between our visits, knowing that The Vistas team was standing in our place. May you all be blessed!

At 97, mom was suffering from bouts of dementia, but with rotating caretakers, was still able to live at home. It was decided to move mom to Marquis for "comfort care" as she displayed all the signs of nearing the end and I just wanted to make sure she didn't suffer. (All the paperwork and details were sorted in an expedient and organized fashion, so I didn't have to worry about any of that and could focus on my mother). She wasn't happy being in the hospital and wasn't all that jazzed about being moved to Marquis for rehab... However, it didn't take long for the staff to earn her trust. Her primary nurse, Robin (I hope I got that spelling right), was outstanding. She knew I was in from out of town and that I needed all of the information I could get and she ALWAYS made herself available if I had any questions. When she wasn't there, the other nurses did a wonderful job with mom. My mother was an extremely independent and proud person and did not like to allow anyone to do anything FOR her - but she let down her guard with the staff at Marquis and trusted them enough that her last week was as peaceful as could be expected. I am sincerely grateful for the care provided to my mother by the staff at Marquis - especially the personal attention they paid to mom - rather than just treating her like another body. Mike Ray

This place is an absolute joke. Are you ready for this???…read more We were in a process of applying for our dad, who has dementia, to be placed at Marquis Shasta because they take his insurance and seemed like a reputable facility. We could no longer pay for Willow Springs, which is private pay, and a place that did such an excellent job caring for our father during his time there. He was well-loved, regarded by staff as "one of our all-stars" and was even featured in their April 2024 newsletter for his warm smile and reputation as their "resident chocolate lover." During the application process with Marquis, Willow Springs sent over a standard referral and care plan. Upon looking at the documents, there was an obscure note written by a staff member from Willow Springs that said "Sexual Behavior" without any description or context given. When Lori, the nursing director at Marquis, saw the note, she was rightly concerned and needed to find out more. I called Willow Springs and their nurse reached out to Marquis to explain that the note was in reference to a staff member who was showering our father when he made some sort of sexual comment. The nurse at Willow Springs affirmed that there was no aggressive or threatening behavior, only a few comments like that here and there, which she said was very common for people with dementia. Obviously, sexual jokes or comments are inappropriate in the workplace by those of us who are blessed enough to have full control of our mental faculties. But for an 80-year-old stroke victim with dementia to be declined admission to Marquis for occasional inappropriate comments because his mind is half gone is shocking, unconscionable and discriminatory. Our dad is not a threat to anyone, is not aggressive, and could not be aggressive even if he wanted to be since he moves so slowly and delicately. In fact, he was already a previous patient at Marquis in 2018 when recovering from his stroke and had no negative incidents whatsoever during his short-term recovery care in their facility. Unless Marquis can prove that no other dementia patient has ever been declined or removed from their facility for similar comments, this denial is clearly discriminatory and I will be filing a complaint with the Medical Board of California. To be told that our father is "not a fit" for this facility is insulting and inhumane, to say the least, and they will be held accountable. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE! Find somewhere else for your loved one. They are obviously incompetent to handle real-world circumstances when dealing with memory care patients who pose zero risk to anyone at their facility.

Additionally, we needed a facility where my father could also live and spend the majority of each day with my mother. St Lorenz proved to be an outstanding choice. James Bird quickly and courteously orchestrated the voluminous paperwork. Debbie Bird provided great medical care for my mother and very much needed mental support for my father. I had to be out of state for a few days. Debbie texted me frequently with updates - again not only on my mother's declining condition but also on how my father was faring. Perhaps most importantly, Debbie accurately predicted my mother's passing away which allowed me to return and have the final three days with her. The St Lorenz staff members were also outstanding. In addition to excellent medical attention, they had the perfect mix of caring, courtesy, respect, and sense of humor. The staff truly cared about each resident/patient. It was not just a job to them. My family will be forever grateful to St. Lorenz for the extraordinary care of my parents. Disclaimer: We are simply a family who received great service at a very difficult time from St. Lorenz. We have no other connection to St Lorenz.
