Meals at first were prepared by a chef and were very good. Chef moved on and for the remainder of the time my family member was there, they ate their main meal around 3:30 in the afternoon - mostly sandwiches. The staff diminished greatly. Constant turnover. Mostly very young adults, observed yelling and playing up and down the hallways on their phones. During the pandemic we were not allowed window visits. Socialization was limited so we were not able to observe our family members deteriorating condition. Our family member did not receive very good care. I cannot recommend this facility.

I will admit that for a few months there were Meal issues, service, however Mosaic has gone to work by bringing us an Incredible Executive Director , Amazing Chef who cooks amazing meals, and New Dinning Manager who trains Servers and they are now properly trained and a wonderful eating expreience. Today is October Fest Bratwurst, pretzels with cheese beer dip and I could go on.... Our recent Chocolate Fest was sooo sooo good. I presonally enjoy taking time for card games as well as paint classes etc etc. etc. The holidays are coming and they provide wonderful dinners... and your family is included as well. My husband and I have some activity about every day. I assure you we looked at every place in Shasta and Tehama County. NOTHING COMPARED TO THE EXCELLENCE they provide to their residence. THEY HAVE JUST ADDED A DR. JOHN NEPOMUCENO, A Primary Care Doctor to serve our needs. We have already signed up to be his patient and he and his staff exceed any expectations you might have. I have only been at Shasta Estates for four months they are experiencing quite a serious turnover…read morein workers which has lead to long wait times for meals (30+ minutes depending on where you sit) L ittle or no housekeeping. Those visits are limited to 15 minutes which is way too short to do any kind of real cleaning. My apt has been "cleaned three times in these four months-supposed to be weekly! I have three sets of blinds they have never been touched for cleaning, except by me. Promised transportation has been non-existent for weeks/ months at a time. I have asked numerous times for a safety fall necklace only to be told that they are on order. Cost is $50.00. Four months waiting. Free Internet by Spectrum is poor or fair connections which drop each night causing printers and Alexa non-functioning issues. Food is corporate dictated with many repetitions of pork loin chops and chicken of various preparations. Beef stroganoff without ANY sour cream; Diet is high fructose and high salt. Not conducive to senior nutrition needs. I feel stuck In a distant corporate run institution. Meals delivered to your room when sick are spotty. And difficult to arrange. And limited to three days. And are not conducive to any kind of choice or appropriateness of the illness and, cost $7 per meal. I do not recommend Shasta Estates.

They needed to do a better job of cleaning rooms and doing laundry and accounting for a persons personal belongings. When my mom passed, no one from management even called or sent a card of condolences.
