I don't know what I was expecting but it was a carbonated watered down bubbly. Especially for how pricey the drinks are full price, I would have expected something more tasty instead of experimental. My cousin told me about this place, saying it's super popular lately and that I should try it out since I love matcha. The place is seriously Instagram-worthy with great presentation and super cute merchandise. The vibe of the store is awesome, especially since I'm really into pink. The only downside is the price. You're paying for a medium-sized drink what you'd normally pay for an extra-large one elsewhere. My drink came out to around $10 or more with tax, which is pretty steep. The service was a bit slow because of the line, so it took a few minutes to get my drink. When I finally got it, the drink was good, but I don't think I'd come back unless it's for a special occasion. I started going to this location since it's opened up and have seen a heavy decline in how this store is being run. I normally go later in the day, when I'm done with school and my friend is off from work as a treat. I'm always treated as if I'm an annoyance for coming in and am never greeted. I don't think I've seen any of the workers look like they're even content with their jobs. They are sitting on boxes on the ground on their phones, standing with their personal belongings on them before they are supposed to close, and barely do their assigned tasks. I've had my drink be overfilled and spilled by an employee and I had to clean off the cup myself. I've multiple times ordered matcha with no ice, and they still added ice. And the last time I ordered a draft matcha, it barely had any matcha in it and tasted like sweetened milk. That's IF they're willing to even serve you draft matcha because somehow they're "always out" even though I've never encountered this at any other location. Not to mention every drink having a massive gap between the drink and lid. I used to go to the Cha Cha in WeHo and I loved it. Everyone was so kind, I remember someone even offering to fill my draft matcha because I was there for so long and visiting from out of town (before moving to LA). I honestly will not be coming back to Cha Cha in Century City with the service I've been receiving lately. These are expensive drinks, they are a luxury and treated as such for me. A great matcha spot located in the Westfield Century City surrounded by amazing shops and a clean mall area. When walking in aesthetically, it is very pleasing with the millennial, pink and Matcha green color palette. The person who greeted me from behind the counter, was very nice and friendly. Since it was my first time I asked her what she recommended between the two choices of the strawberry matcha and the purple drink. She informed me that both were very popular. For my milk choice, I went with macadamia nut, which she explained was a great option for this drink. I wish I could rate it 0/5. I had one of the worst café experiences ever here last night. The cashier was extremely rude -- yelling out my order as I was placing it, making the interaction uncomfortable and chaotic. If the music is too loud for staff to hear customers, that's something management should fix, not take out on guests. The service was so bad that my group and I decided to walk out in the middle of ordering. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone unless you actually enjoy being treated poorly. When I first took a sip from drink, I was able to taste the honey and macadamia mixed together with the matcha, which I thought it was good. The location is on the 1st floor near Bloomington and parking is underneath the mall. I have always enjoyed all of my drinks from Cha Cha Matcha. The staff is friendly, the store interior decor is cute, heck even their napkins are adorable (great branding!). There never seems to be much of a crowd here, so you get your drinks quickly. My favorite is the turmeric ginger matcha, which gives a perfect hint of zing from the ginger. Cha Cha Matcha actually reminded me of a more matcha-themed Alfred's coffee. Prices almost the same but still oh so slightly cheaper with no $10 latte in sight. I didn't realize how much I could love Matcha until I started going to Cha Cha Matcha. It's in the Westfield Century City Mall, and although they don't validate there you can get your parking validated if you spend $10 at Gelson's. They have a variety of seating options outside, both connected to Cha Cha and nearby in the mall, and it's a great vibe. They have a large posted menu with different ways you can order your matcha, and my three favorites were: Strawberry Matcha ($8) with Matcha, Fresh Strawberry Syrup, their Beauty Blend, Honey, Vanilla, & your choice of milk (I recommend oat). Although a higher price point, it's unique and worth it. This is great for anyone who wants to try something sweet that has a strong berry flavor and fun texture. Mint Matcha Lemonade ($6.50) with Matcha, Yuzu Lemonade & Fresh Mint. This is great for anyone who wants something crisp, refreshing, and citrus-forward. The actual cafe itself is small but very cutely decorated, and it evidently takes its aesthetics very seriously, as the place even offers cute straws, cups, cup sleeves, and napkins. The drinks are also very aesthetically pleasing, as they are very vibrant colors. The drink I ordered was a Blue Drink (honey, collagen, and butterfly pea flower tea), and I requested for the baristas to add a matcha shot to it. That said, while the flavor of the drink I ordered was not bad, I believe it was too sweet and hardly tasted of matcha. This is not a major problem for me, but it might be for someone who really enjoys a strong matcha presence in their drinks, especially when you consider that adding a matcha shot to non-latte drinks here costs an additional $2. The Blue Drink was $7, and adding a 4oz matcha shot to it increased the price to $9 (accurate as of 06/01/2025). I would maybe recommend this place to people who value the aesthetic of a cafe and drink or to those who like very sweet drinks. I probably would not recommend this particular cafe to anyone who is picky about the strength of their coffee/matcha, though. The two employees seemed high out of their minds - speaking very slow where I couldn't comprehend them, no eye contact, and lethargically moving - it was 100% abnormal behavior. When asked about certain menu items, they seemed to not know anything and weren't helpful at all. The drink seemed premade because by the time I tapped to pay, they handed it to me and walked away to go on their phones, almost as if they only had to put ice in it. Unfortunately, cha cha became a victim of shrinkflation. I spent 10$ (plus 2$ tip) on the SMALLEST matcha ever. I used to always get the strawberry matcha and I noticed they are charging the same for a way smaller cup size. This literally happened in the span of 2 years. It was always 10$ but at least the cup was slightly bigger. Now it takes 3 sips and you're done with the drink. I can't justify spending that much anymore. read more

Actually pretty surprised by the reviews that Cha cha matcha has. Cha cha matcha originally caught my attention with their super cute store front. Ima sucker for detail and presentation. Upon walking in I noticed the pretty small menu of house drinks. I asked how the draft matcha was and the employees were nice enough to let me try before hand. I really enjoyed the draft matcha so that was my choice. Within seconds, literally seconds my drink was handed to me. The house matcha is creamy without dairy with a great matcha taste. I really enjoyed it and to be honest didn't see anything wrong at all with their staff. I look forward to going back to try other items. read more

Drinks: Draft Matcha Latte (4/10) : It did not taste anything like Vanilla and had a super light taste of matcha unfortunately. The only taste I got out of the entire drink was the oat milk. Purple Drink (9/10): We didn't notice but we got charged extra for a Matcha shot we did not order and ask for, but we were already out of the store and didn't think it was worth it to go back to have it fixed. It was delicious, the ube flavor was very tasty and the matcha did balance out the drink. So I guess in the end the $10 was worth it for the drink lol! I was really excited for Cha Cha to open at Century City! Green tea before & after movies? Yes, please! However, my first visit over the weekend was a fail. We excitedly lined up and were confused when we saw people walking out of line empty handed. We got to the register and excitedly ordered the Draft Matcha Latte but were told they didn't have any milk except skim or whole. The draft matcha is a premade drink that uses oat & coconut milk so they didn't have it. So two things - -Every single drink offers your choice of milk so it would be a good idea to mention this to customers prior to ordering. -But more importantly---how do you not have 3 of your 5 milks? Y'all are at Century City Mall. Gelson's is in the mall with you. Walk over, get your soy, milk and coconut milks you need --- then walk back. If you don't have what you need for your entire menu (every drink says your choice of milk and some require the alternative milks), then what kind of drink shop are you? This was on a Saturday afternoon, mind you, prime time. It made zero sense. I was excited about snacks but they didn't look appealing to me which made for an instant sad face. I ended up just getting the plain cold matcha ($5) which was smooth and tasty. But a pretty disappointing experience with lackluster service and responses.
