Visited this spot for my friend's birthday and had a pretty good time here overall! I ordered 3 tacos with short rib, shrimp, and carnitas and the portion was so filling I was barely able to finish. I liked the carnitas one the best because of how juicy and flavorful the meat tasted. I also got a pineapple margarita cocktail and the pineapple juice tasted so fresh it felt like I was drinking a mocktail! The waiters were really nice and accommodating although the service was a bit slow at times and there were some incorrect charges on our final bill. The chorizo won't give you heartburn. But skip out on the rice, the sauce and condiments for it is so overpowering you can smell it before you taste it. Stopped by this place for lunch today with a friend. My friend had been raving about this place for months, so I figured I had to make time to come by. The decor of this place is awesome. Very energetic and classy. The customer service was fantastic. From getting checked in to our waitress to the manager checking in on us was all great. The food prices seemed a little high but from the short rib tacos to the three enchilada combination + chips & salsa, the prices were worth it. The quality and quantity were excellent and the drinks were very good. This restaurant offers different specialities throughout the week including happy hour daily in the bar. We went the Saturday before Mother's Day and the service was awful to say the least. We made a reservation but still had to stand and wait for 40 minutes before getting seated...what is the point of a reservation at that point?? They were severely understaffed which is unacceptable for Mother's Day weekend which is also a popular weekend for celebrating graduates. There were many empty tables, but we had to wait extra long because of how understaffed they were. Our server worked very hard and was definitely hustling but he had an impossible task. We only saw him for ordering appetizer, entree, and the check. And getting the check took effort to waive him down. He was waiting on tables in two very separated areas, so he was barely on our side. The woman who seated us said "sorry for the wait. I promise the food will be worth it." Well, it was not worth it at all. The ceviche sampler did not have much fish at all...it was just a bunch of liquid and cucumbers, with a few tiny tiny pieces of fish. The guacamole was decent but was deceptively small as they place it on top of a hidden bed of shredded cabbage. I don't appreciate the trickery there. And the chicken flautas wasn't really crispy at all. Additionally, I really wanted to catch up with my family members over lunch, but it was so loud inside that we were yelling at each other because we couldn't hear a thing. We finally just gave up and said "nevermind we'll catch up afterwards." I understand that there is a bar and it can be a lively environment but maybe keep that to one section, as not everyone wants to be unable to communicate across their own table during a meal. Our server was so patient, accommodating, and friendly with us that it made our brunch truly stand out. Came to Cha Cha's with girlfriends for brunch. Our server recommended the brunch special, but since we are not huge eaters, we grabbed that and couple other dishes. Everything was SO good! Definitely enjoyed the short braised rib chilaquiles and pozole. We also opted for the bottomless mimosas (only $18 when you get the brunch special!), and our waitress always made sure we were topped off. I would most definitely dine here again. Food is tasty. The food always hits and have good portions. Can be a bit on the pricey side for those wanting to budget but I would say it's worth the price. I've had these enchiladas and I'm still craving them days later. I've also had their Carne Asada and it's always very tasty. Their flan is also nice to get for birthdays. They have many nice seating areas inside and outside, and it's really large so you don't have to wait too long depending on when you go. The staff are also nice and do their best to accommodate you. Ate here for a birthday dinner with a party of 10. This is my second time at Cha Chas but first time at this location. Making the reservation was easy - called the restaurant and received a text and call to confirm at a later date. They informed me of the automatic 20% gratuity and asked if I was celebrating anything. No cake cutting fee. Free parking structures nearby. The restaurant itself was very loud, I think the acoustics are just bad. No one could hear each other and the waitress couldn't hear us as well. Maybe go to the Irvine location for that reason. Otherwise lively environment. The food was mixed. My party enjoyed several drinks, the clam appetizer, and the seafood pasta dish the most. I personally had the crab and shrimp enchilada which I thought was good. While some people loved the short rib taco, for the most part the tacos were not good. The shrimp taco only has 2 shrimp and is full of mayo and onions. I would recommend ordering on of their main dishes, not tacos. The only significantly bad part of our experience was our waitress, Adriana. She didn't come see us until 15 minutes after we were seated and had a negative attitude throughout. Never introduced herself or confirmed the birthday we're celebrating. Never checked in on the table. Several times came to drop off stuff to the table and left as quickly as possible without asking us if we needed anything else. She told us they don't have Shirley temples - highly doubtful given their full bar. I asked to pay for a drink for the birthday girl on a separate tab which she denied. Questions about the menu were blown off. When we informed her of the birthday she said they don't do anything for birthdays - however I heard other parties being sung happy birthday and they asked me about it over the phone several times. Why ask if they don't take it into account? The worst thing was our card got denied the first time due to a fraud check - the person who put their card down went to the bathroom and in the meantime she came and announced to the whole table she needed a new card because the one she had was denied. Terrible etiquette. Overall, I would come to cha Chas again, especially with their great weekday deals but probably not with a large party and would hope for better service read more

So we got one and turns out it was one off the menu and double the price. Very shady way of pushing expensive drinks. $24 for a very mid Jose Cuervo margarita. Wont be back. read more

This is a really fun place in downtown Brea. Seating is inside or on the patio. The patio looked good, but it was cold out so we ate inside. The service was excellent. Our waiter was so funny. We had a great time joking with him. I ordered the Cha Cha margarita which is more sour and tangy than sweet ( grapefruit and mango flavors). We started with salsa, chips, and guacamole. The chips are really salty. I ordered the three tacos combo. I'm was able to get three different tacos: mushroom, shrimp, and fish. It came with sides of rice and beans. So much food! I was really happy that I was able to try three different tacos instead of eating the same type three times. The mushroom taco was really good. This place is amazing! A must-try on Taco Tuesdays (50% tacos). Their service is great as well. Total pre-tip was $35 for 3 taco trio plates on Taco Tuesday, so around $12 per person. I ordered 2 short rib tacos and 1 carnitas taco. Both tacos were great, but I would choose the short rib over the carnitas taco. Had a girls night to see a comedy show accross the street, stopped by ChaChas the brea location, by recommendation of my parents. Myself & my friend enjoyed our girls day with the tamarindo wings, the guacamole, and the steak entree. We also went on a Thursday so there was an enchilada deal, so, we had to try the trio sampler. All of the food was delicious & not only was Sylvia's service great, she checked on us a tasteful amount of times; but the manager also stopped by to check in on us to see how we were enjoying our very first experience here. Couldn't get enough of this restaurant that our family returned on Christmas day for lunch. We made a reservation and even though the policy is to have everybody present they let us in with two party members on the way, which was nice. The front desk was very kind and accommodate our needs promptly. Our server also had a superb service serving us the whole time. She was present throughout the meal and never had our drinks empty. Usually, due to music, the restaurant is pretty loud but this day, it was very quiet with soft music on the background so we were able to have a conversation among ourselves. The ambiance is always chic but with the Christmas decoration, it elevated the Christmas spirit. It was less dishes than we ordered last time but pretty much it was the same thing we ordered again because it was unforgettable. The only two different things we ordered were the lemonades and fish tacos and it was phenomenal. Each dish has amazing flavors and beautiful presentations that I recommend to everybody. Perfectly sweet and paired perfectly with the milk tea. We also ordered a Dubai cheesecake for to go, but the cheesecake was very sweet. Service was mid but they were also training someone so get a bit of a pass there (ordered chicken chopped salad and it came with no chicken, ordered hibiscus tea they brought hibiscus lemonade, never refilled chips). The food, starting with the chips and salsa just had no flavors. I'm miffed at the high reviews here. No salt on the chips (had to ask them for salt), red salsa was basically enchilada sauce, got the tacos (one with chicken, one with carnitas, one steak) and again, no flavor, no spices on the meat at all. Chicken looked like ground meat but all three of them was just the meat cooked with no salt, nothing. You shouldn't have to drench your food in sauces for flavor. Overall though, it was a really great starter! The salmon and potatoes were the absolute highlight of the meal for me. Cha Cha's is still one of my favorite sit down Mexican restaurants. Make a reservation - it gets PACKED evenings and weekends. They have a great happy hour menu, huge drink menu, and a ton of entree options. Their food is always fresh and simple - it's not greasy/heavy like many other Mexican restaurants. I absolutely love both of their fresh homemade complimentary salsas that are served with fresh and warm tortilla chips. My go-to is the chopped salad with chicken, it is a generous portion and the dressing has a vinaigrette bite, it's delicious. I've been to Cha Cha's well over a dozen times, and this is the first visit where I left genuinely disappointed, especially with the service from the hostess staff. I visited on 4/10/26 with a reservation at 6:30pm. The front hostess, a taller young woman, was noticeably unfriendly, as was the young woman who seated us. It was a sharp contrast to every other experience I've had here, where the staff has always been warm, welcoming, and attentive. Our waitress, Ashley I believe her name was, was also not the friendliest, no hospitality. I hope this was just an off night, because this isn't the level of hospitality I've come to expect from Cha Cha's. read more
