I loved Cha for Teas! My favorite bobas spot!!! Loved their bobas. It is so delicious, soft, sweet, and of course some chewiness. They have all kinds of flavors. It depends what you like sweet and sour, tangy, creamy, caramel flavor, and etc. what I loved loved loved about this place is their matcha flavor is sooooo delicious, I mean really delicious. I am not a fan of matcha but because everywhere I went I didn't like it. But Cha for Tea is my favorite place for matcha. Try it!! Most places with matcha it's either bitter, or it tastes like pure green tea leaves. But Cha for Tea matcha is so creamy and yes you can still taste the matcha. All their flavors you can't go wrong. I tried their mango tea it was soooo good!!! I also tried there I think it's called brown sugar or caramel it was also delicious! The services are always great. This location is a little bigger than the one in Irvine I think. Their prices I noticed is cheaper than most boba places! Like wow, $4.50 for a reg and $5.00 for a Large?!! That's a deal! Cha for Tea is pretty much my go-to lunch and/or pick-me-up when I am working in the area. You can order online ahead, but I find they are pretty quick in store too. For food: I love their popcorn chicken (can choose spice level) which pairs so well with their sweet and sour sauce. I'll get just the app when I'm not too hungry, but otherwise you can get the meal which comes with rice or noodle, mixed greens, and corn. For drinks: my favorite is the almond milk tea, 50% sweet; both iced and hot are good! I have tried their royal and chai milk teas lately as well, but I find the tea flavor is not as strong as I would like it to be, tasted a little watered down. No inside seating since COVID unfortunately, but there are some tables outside! read more

All the appetizers were really great! We personally ordered a bit too much but I really enjoyed the crispy tofu. Loved that it was soft yet tender and had a little bit of seasoning with a side of rice. Each appetizer was quite a lot so order a little bit at a time. Service was quick and nice. Cha for tea has always been a boba staple for me ever since my time at UCI, and its flavors still hold true to this day! Located right across from CSULB, Cha for Tea is a popular boba spot for those looking for a fruity drink and a side of popcorn chicken after class! Since it is located in the same plaza as Target and several other establishments, the parking lot can get quite busy, but you should be able to find a parking spot fairly easily. 7th street (the road from the 22 west freeway exit) can also get really packed so it might take sometime to get through the traffic before you reach the plaza. When you walk inside you'll notice that there are some students doing work on the tables, others enjoying their drinks with some company, and an overall bustling environment. There's ample seating available inside of the cafe with large enough tables to set up your laptop and equipment should you choose to do so. When I was ordering my drink, the cashier was very friendly with us and offered us her recommendations when my boyfriend was trying to pick between different teas, as well as her suggestions for any adjustments. We ended up getting the mango green tea full sweetness with boba and the honey green tea 3 pumps (sweetener) with boba. I always love getting their mango green tea because it's so refreshing and fruity, but you can still taste the green tea flavor! I also always prefer my milk teas, so the splash of milk to the tea creates a creamy consistency as well. My boyfriend thought that the honey green tea was still a little sweet for him even with the adjusted amounts of pumps (3 instead of 5 pumps for a large), but he doesn't enjoy too sweet things so bare that in mind. Regardless, he loved his tea and again applauded the fact that he could truly taste the tea itself as well. Cha for Tea is known for their fruit teas and their almond or honey teas, so if you're stumped on what to get I always recommend one of those! We also ended up getting their popcorn chicken with medium spice and that meal always hits the spot. It was perfectly crunchy with the perfect amount of spice, and the sweet and sour sauce just completes the whole meal. I will mention that the sweet and sour sauce is an additional $0.20 so just keep that in mind if you're trying to get multiple! Cha For Tea holds the title for best mango green tea. This place gives the classic boba shop vibes you'd think of when wanting to grab a snack with friends and study. All of their locations are surrounding colleges so it's perfect. There are only a few tables to study or eat on but it's perfect to grab and go. All of their entrees are packed in bento boxes so they know what the people want. My family always comes here for their mango green tea. It even gets a stamp of approval from my Asian Dad which doesn't get wowed by many things. I would say it is a little on the sweeter side but you can reduce the sweetness to your liking. Their other fruit tea options are also good contenders but I would tread lightly on the other drink options. In addition, I love when boba shops sell food too. Their popcorn chicken is a great snack to munch on while being washed down with your drink. It hits the spot for the cravings and nostalgia. The one thing I also appreciate here is the pricing. The secret is in their freshly prepared boba. I don't remember ever tasting a better boba, and the fact that they are made hourly ensures they are always tender, chewy, and warm, providing the prefect textural background for your favorite drink. The warmth prevents the boba from hardening up by the cold drink. Just like most boba drink places, you can customize the sweetness of the drink, ranging from 1 (least sweet) to 4 (most sweet). The drink mixer adjusts the sweetness level from how many pumps of the sweetener they add to your drink. I requested a drink with level 2 sweetness, and it was a bit on the bland side for me (which I don't mind because it's good for my blood sugar). Most people probably prefer normal sweetness, comparing to the standard of other drinks in the community. The take-home message is that you MUST request boba with your drinks, whatever it may be. I go to Cha fairly often, and whenever their employee Jeffrey is there, he is so kind and attentive. He took the time to remember mine and my friends name and our orders, even with the little swaps like varying sweetness levels! I would give this place 5 stars for their drinks only if their workers didn't have such bad attitudes. The person taking my order is not friendly, never smiling, and always seems so annoyed when taking my order. The workers making the drinks don't say a word back when I say "thank you" after getting my drink. If the drinks itself weren't so consistently delicious every time, I wouldn't come back.
