This used to be one of my favorite place for Indian food in Natomas and I used to often order kadi chawal, Rajma chawal and choley bhaturey. This time during our dine in we had the most negative experience at this place. We ordered choley bhaturey, 2 pieces of Samosa and the tandoori platter for the dinner. The samosa were very average, the choley bhaturey were good but when the tandoori platter arrived it looked loaded with red color, upon tasting the meat tasted and smelled bad, also the flavors were totally off. We raised the concern with the server and mentioned have had only one bite the whole thing was untouched, their solution to the situation was no refund, they can instead give a curry in exchange which was barely $10-$12, while the platter costed whopping $28.50 plus taxes, which we didn't accept and left the place. This place has a very basic ambience but I always rated this place well due to consistency in taste of their vegetarian food, and always ordered with instructions to go easy on oil. We have decided to never visited this place and would not recommend it either and if you are all this place, please avoid their non-vegetarian dishes. read more

Wow everything was so good here. The flavors and food were so authentic. The menu was big and had so many items to choose from! Cute little place. When I walked in, I could already smell the curry and flavors cooking in the back. We got butter chicken for the kids since they can't eat spice. It was just very slightly spicy. Garlic naan was good and garlicky. The shrimp biryani was delicious. So flavorful. We also had the lamb curry which was so good. The meat was tender. It was too spicy and just right. The samosas were big! They are spicy but was delicious. What I really enjoyed at this place was that they offer family meals! That was so convenient since we came with a family of 5. Nothing great to write home about - typical small indian restaurant ambiance. The servers are nice and service was a little on the slower side. We ordered a samosa chaat and a boneless chicken tikka masala dinner with daal, rice, naan to go. We also got some dessert (kalakand, milk cake). The samosa chaat was excellent and the portion was big. We had actually ordered the dinner to eat in the restaurant but we got full with the chaat, so hubby ended up taking it home. He said the portions were big and the dinner was good. The curry was decent, while the daal was very good. Both the kalakand and milk cake were very good but I don't know if these are made by the restaurant or got from somewhere else. We are planning to make this our usual stop on the way to the airport. I really enjoyed Chaat. I've been hearing good things about them for years, and I was a couple doors down at Bingsu and decided to try them for lunch. The dining area is spacious and clean, and you order at the counter. The menu is huge. It took a while to decide what to get. We decided on panipuri and samosa for appetizers (both were good and we loved the spicy chili water that came with panipuri. It was our favorite dish by far. The masala fries were also tasty and nicely spiced, a fun twist on regular fries. The Punjabi House chicken curry was tasty but the portion size was beyond disappointing. It was noticeably small--about half the size expected for the price of $22.46--which made a very poor value even though the taste itself was good. We ordered the dinner size so maybe they accidentally gave us the smaller size? The mango lassi was not a traditional lassi. It tasted more like a thin mango smoothie that had melted--very mango-y, but lacking the creamy, yogurt-based richness you'd expect. We did not receive the samosa chaat--it was missing from the order. The "sides" (i.e. dipping sauces, naan, etc.) were excellent and the portions were mostly generous. The service is typically the same family staff. I love how they cater to all patronizing customers. Aman is one of their exceptional staff; he is patient, explains the menu very well to non-Indian customers. I would give this place 4 stars but they are SUPER stingy with their chutney. We order two entrees and only given 2 little tiny containers of chutney and we had to BEG for it. One time we ordered a chicken wrap and the wrap is huge but they wouldn't give us any chutney and was going to charge us for it. It's a bit ridiculous. I have been here many times and although it is always good, yesterday was amazing. I tried the vindaloo chicken for the first time. It was one of the best things I've eaten in a long time. So good! I usually always get the chicken tikka masala à la cart (comes with rice or plain naan). I usually get it with the rice and order garlic naan on the side because the garlic naan is also the best I've had. I've also had pretty much all of the deserts. They are all pretty good! We ordered two of our favs, butter chicken and saag paneer. This place has very good quality and has the best deal I've found on their dinner plates. I like to get the boneless chicken tikka masala dinner plate. The menu is displayed pretty clearly and in a detailed way, which helps with ordering if you aren't sure what you want. I appreciate that almost every entree has an a la carte or full meal option!
