Craving Indian cuisine and already in the area, we stumbled upon Delhi Oven and decided to place a takeout order for dinner through the DoorDash app. It's a good size establishment with a small market inside. There's indoor and outdoor seating as well. Since it was our first time, we kept it simple and ordered just a few items. Their menu is extensive offering Classic and Indian-style pizzas, plus a wide range of vegetarian and non-veg dishes--which made ordering through the app feel a bit overwhelming. FOOD Chicken Tikka Masala - 4/5 Spicy and packed with flavor, and the chicken-to-sauce ratio was nicely balanced. Chicken Biryani - 3.8/5 Tasty overall. Updated review for 2022. Dine-in party of 4. My go-to is the butter chicken (comes with rice) and a side of naan. Others at the table got the aloo dosa, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, butter naan, and onion kulcha. I also got a mango lassi drink, and a couple of the guys purchased the individual cups of Indian-style ice cream (some with non-English flavors labeled so it was a fun mystery) to go. The dosa (South Indian) crepe with sambar was something I'd never seen/tried before. I didn't love the kulcha but that's just because it was too oniony for me personally. Next time I swear I will go veg and cheesy, and try the palak paneer (why was I looking for it under "saag," can someone please explain the difference to me, they both have spinach?) or the paneer pakora or paneer naan or paneer paratha (again, someone please explain the difference between the paratha and naan!). Or if I stick with chicken to try something else like the korma. Championz Pizza also has the Indian flavor profile pizzas which I haven't tried yet either. This is your in the wall type of restaurant, tucked away behind an Indian grocery store, with a tarp sign out front falling off. Don't let that understated look fool you though; servers greet you right as you walk in through the door and offer you a menu. The menu has many Indian dish favorites and then pizzas made topped with those dishes. We got the butter chicken and butter paneer (same sauce, meat vs, cheese) which was incredible. Naan a perfect combo of soft with crisp corners. Rice was done right. The masala chai was not my favorite, however there were kulfis in an ice box nearby that made for the perfect dessert on this hot day. We got the malai and mango and didn't regret it! We will definitely be back, as this is now our favorite Indian restaurant in Natomas in terms of authentic flavor and pricing! read more

I guess this is my new favorite Indian food place in Sacramento! Wow. Delhi Oven really blew me away. There is so much to love about this place, but of course the main thing is the absolutely delicious food. Delhi Oven is located way out on the edge of Natomas. It's in this plaza that has a grocery store and that's it - not a highly trafficked place whatsoever. You really have to know in order to go. The menu is huge with a variety of different food items from all of India (it seems like). They even partition the menu between different regions of India. I went with the chicken tiki masala and it has instantly become my favorite tiki masala dish ever. It is so creamy and full of flavor. I could have this every day! The naan is also excellent. I was the perfect compliment to the tiki masala. When getting the naan, make sure you get garlic or other flavors rather than plain. I'm pretty sure they really crisp up the naan as long as you don't get the plain ones. If you are a pizza fan, you can also order some Indian style pizza! I haven't tried it yet, but that is something I'm looking forward to on a future visit. Delhi Oven is a special secret in Natomas that really shouldn't be! I got the butter chicken and chicken tikki masala prepared spicy for the first time, and it just takes it to another level. I also got the tandoori chicken & samosas and there were layers of flavors. Not only is this best food in Natomas, but it might be the best food I've ever tasted. Best Butter Chicken ever! We joined our friends here at Delhi Oven for some Indian cuisine... party of 5. It's not very often the hubby and I eat Indian food. It's stuck in my head that most (if not all) Indian food are always spicy. Almost all of it is cooked with at least one spice so, therefore, almost all savory Indian food is 'spicy'... Not! not all Indian food is spicy. Yay! Great because I don't do too hot (pun) with spicy foods. The 'fast food' restaurant is a counter service. We placed our orders at the register. I ordered the butter chicken (it's the only Indian food I know). I requested it to be negative zero spice. LoL! I would be able to tell if there is even a hint of hot spice on the entrée. My hubby chose chicken tikka Masala. It took about 15 mins until our food was served and brought to our table. I'm telling you... the best butter chicken I've ever tasted. Ordered takeout. It was easy to order on the phone. Overall, the food was great. The palak paneer tasted like straight spinach, and was lacking in the spices and flavors I am used to with a palak paneer. The tikka masala dishes were so good though. Was a big fan of the garlic naan too. Solid spot and I'm glad mild was mild. I've been to many places were mild was crazy spicy. I would like it if it weren't for the heartburn. I have finally discovered the fact that there are two great Indian restaurants in the North Natomas area that are definitely worth going to. Delhi oven is that place. I love the fact that they are in the same building with a pizza place and a Mini Mart. Delhi oven has a few places to sit inside, but they pretty much are in order and go type of restaurant. Which during this crazy Covid time, it all works out perfectly. Whatever you do order the butter chicken. The chicken is perfectly tender, the sauce will make you want to finish every last little drop. We ordered it on the mild side and it still had a nice little kick to it. Remember to order some naan to get every last little drop of the sauce ! Mattar paneer, scrumptious. It's a fairly simple vegetarian dish with peas and cheese and this lightly savory spicy sauce. It's such a unique dish, and it simply is delicious. It's a must try. It's the first time I've had it, and definitely will order it again. We ordered the samosas chaat. I always have to have samosas when I have Indian food. This is the first time that I've had samosas chaat. Two large samosas covered with garbanzo beans, other vegetables, and such a lovely mixture of just everything that this truly could have been a meal all by itself. Savory and delicious, that we all literally were fighting over who got the last bite. Nestled in the North Natomas area, Delhi oven is actually hidden in the middle of the housing development. Don't let that stop you, it's worth the extra couple of blocks drive for the amazing and delicious cuisine. Prices are incredibly reasonable, parking of course is free, and this is something that you should not miss out on. Overpriced and disappointing. I ordered one Chana Masala and 3 paratha and was charged $27. That's way too much--paratha is usually $1-$2 and Chana should be under $10. I've been eating and cooking Desi food all my life, and this is just not worth it. When I asked, they told me to "check the menu."
