This was the 1st time I've had a massage in many years. After being in pain from hours at the computer and a nerve condition flare up I decided to give it a try. When I walked in I was politely greeted at the Front Desk by "30" (his nickname). I waited less than :05, went into the room which was very clean and quiet. The room was a little cold for me so my masseuse (Anna) adjusted the temperature right away for me. I closed my eyes and never opened them again until she said full service had been delivered. I got the Chaba Combo Massage which their website describes as "A unique combination of light and strong pressure. We begin with Thai massage and continue with a long relaxing  Swedish massage with Deep Tissue." Oh man, it was heavenly, I have some layers of knots that she was able to work on and she didn't talk, she just worked--very appreciated. What a great experience! Welcoming reception, peaceful vibe and tasteful decor. Once escorted into the room, I was told "if you are not happy with your therapist, let us know within 15 minutes and we will give you another one. Don't worry about being rude, we want you happy!" That was a first! But there was no need for me to worry. I was so impressed with Ava, my massage therapist! She asked immediately what areas I needed her to focus on and then got to it. I opted for the deep tissue massage and even though she was tiny, her fingers were mighty! This massage involved some stretches that really made the entire experience complete. So overall this is an ok-to-not-so-good of a place. First off, I was a first time visitor and they even asked if I was but they gave me no discount whatsoever. I am a little surprised by that knowing that it is posted in a few locations online that there is a 10% discount for first timers. And a $5 discount for Yelp. Second, I got a room by the restroom/next door business and all I heard was flush, talk-talk, flush, etc... Not the best atmosphere you want to be in for an hour massage. Third, the parking was terrible. I had to park a block away and walk around a Popeye's Chicken place. Not the best way to put someone in the mood for a massage. Fourth, the girl giving the massage started late and finished early. I don't like that knowing that I am already spending more for this place than others. Every minute counts. Finally, the massage was rather good. I am in a little pain but I did ask for the Deep Tish Massage so... I must admit that the girl had small hands but packed a punch. Their website says walk ins welcome. There's two girls standing around talking and drinking coffee. She said yes we accept walk ins but we're waiting for 3 people. Ummm ok but I'm here now so what's the point of walk in welcome when that's clearly not the case. She said I can make an appointment for an hour from now, seemed like they really just didn't want to help. I ask if I should just go somewhere else and she said "ummm yeah". I had the pleasure of getting a hot stone massage this past Friday from Tami. It was a nice relaxing and soothing massage and one that was needed. The staff was super friendly. The facility was clean and inviting. The cost was very reasonable. I did have a groupon, but they run specials regularly. The location is nice, because it is close to restaurants, so if you wanted to do dinner or like me had my appointment pushed back, I was able to have a glass of wine beforehand and some sushi. The only reason I am giving them four stars is because at 5:45 they called me and had to push back my appointment by 30 minutes when I was right around the corner. For a single mom who had to get a sitter to watch her kids, my time is limited and when I make an appointment it has to be precise. I understand things come up, but I had left work early to get there on time. So, that was my only complaint that my appointment got changed at the last minute. read more

I've never made an appointment at Chaba. I've always been a walk-in and have never had to wait very long. I like having the option of just dropping in for a massage on whim and not wait long or be told to come back another time. Spa is clean and quiet. Staff is very friendly and always ask for feedback at the end. I feel they care about the quality of service they provide. At the end of your treatment, they give you some delicious iced Thai tea. Called last minute to get a long overdue facial. They were able to get me in right after work! I got a custom facial based on my needs and the esthetician was very knowledgable and really saved my face.
