I feel that the milkiness overpowers the actual peach flavor. I had a sip of the mango smoothie which tasted amazing! 5/5 yesss! If you've ever had the mango gummy candies from the Asian supermarket, it tastes just like that! Boba is nice and chewy with that great boba flavor. I am from San Jose and sometimes I will drive here just to have there house special tea with black rice! The drinks here are really good and well worth the drive. I really like how you can customize your drink to your preference they have options to add more ice and decrease sweetness of your tea. There menu selection is good and the staff are friendly when you ask what's good on menu. There special house tea is amazing! I usually get the coconut flavor and the taste is incredible! They have other options if your not a coconut lover. The black rice they add to this drink is interesting but really good. It reminds me of Mexican rice pudding but not overly sweet. I highly recommend the kumquat lemon fruit tea with basil seeds and lychee jelly on Tuesdays, and their jasmine green milk tea with boba is always a hit in my book. This place is pretty basic with bare walls and a small menu with your standard tea offerings. We settled on getting a jasmine milk tea with boba. As we usually don't like things too sweet, we decided to go with 30% of the sweetener. At other places, I'll go down to 25% and still find the drink too sweet. However, 30% at this place was barely sweet at all, so I probably will go for 50% next time. While the drink was decent, the boba did not taste fresh and was very chewy. In fact, we couldn't even get to all the boba because it was one giant sticky ball at the bottom of the drink which we ended up throwing away when the rest of the drink was finished. Came here with my friends during a work trip because I read on the reviews about the boba hot pot. I have never had boba hot pot but I know it's all the rage in Taiwan. I drove about 30 minutes out to 99% to only find out that they weren't doing boba hot pot yet. It's something that is seasonal. Bummed but I was still craving boba tea so I grabbed a milk tea with boba and pudding. I was able to adjust the sweetness level and ice level so that was a plus in my book. However, I find even at 50% my milk tea was still pretty sweet for me, perhaps I could have even adjusted even further down. Overall I was not that impressed. The boba didnt taste as fresh and the tea wasn't as high quality as I'd expect from a place that has so much competition nearby. It's been a great long while since the hubby and I made our way back to 99% Tea House, the last time during their soft opening. Like most boba places, the parlor needed some time to settle into its boba groove and now, over a year later, I'm pleasantly surprised to see it still holds a high Yelp rating. More than excited to come back, the hubby and I got there around mid afternoon and found the place quite vacant, besides for one other party. The menu showcases a wide a variety of flavors that I wanted to try, making it so hard to choose just one. The hubby's eyes instantly locked onto the Nutella milk tea, something I was eyeing too, but he beat me to it! When I asked the cashier for recommendations, she offered the puff cream milk tea with boba, so I decided to go for that with agar boba instead of the regular tapioca pearls. I popped the Nutella milk tea first, beating the hubby to the punch, and just like it advertises, it tastes exactly like a milk tea with Nutella. If you're not a fan of Nutella, I can't say I trust you, but if you love it just as much as we do, then this drink right here is the perfect drink to enjoy. It's full of chocolate-y goodness that really gives your sweet tooth the reward it deserves. As for my puff cream milk tea, I loved how smooth the cream was and how they added the perfect amount, preventing the drink from becoming too thick. The agar boba had that crisp texture I was looking for and the milk tea base was prominent. It does lean towards the more decadent side, so try not to think about all the added calories too much. I thought this place was super unique. I recommend coming here at least once for the milky with black rice drink. It's not a common topping and initially sounds strange, but if you've ever had any sweet rice dessert (mango sticky rice, sweet purple rice, etc) it's essentially a similar concept. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm glad that I was dehydrated. Otherwise, I would never have come across 99% Tea House. Recently, my girlfriend and I were coming back from a very HOT day in Oakland. And it wasn't even the good kind of hot. Boy, it was like 100+ degree temperature with ZERO shade. Coming out of Bart, we both knew what our thirsty mouths wanted: Good old tea. We looked on Yelp for a new place to try, and that brought us to 99% Tea House, a local favorite in Fremont. 99% Tea House is a small boba shop that's located on the ever-popular Thornton Ave in Fremont. Its spot is pretty decent because it is almost right off the 84/880 Freeways. Since Thornton Ave is a heavily-used street, chances are you will probably also pass by this area if you are ever driving around Fremont, making the location convenient. In terms of parking, 99% Tea House is in a very small lot, and so you may struggle to find a spot. Luckily, when we came around 4pm on a Saturday, we were able to park right away. In terms of the menu, 99% Tea House will have virtually all (cough 99%) of the things you will see in your average boba shop. Here, you will definitely get your normal milk tea fix (e.g. Jasmine, Thai, Black, etc.), AND they also have smoothies! Or, if you want some ice cream, they have sandwiches too. If you are on the indecisive bus, they have a top-5 menu, with their lemon green tea with kumquat as their bestseller. I have to give a shout-out to the cashier because he was SUPER helpful/patient with us. We were having difficulty with what to order, but he gave us a quick rundown on what they had. In the end, we got the lemon green tea and an avocado smoothie with boba. Here's what we thought of our experience: -Lemon Green Tea with Kumquat (8/10). Usually, I don't gravitate towards purely tea drinks at boba shops (go milk tea!), but I took a risk with their most popular item. Overall, I thought it was good! The tea was definitely very light and refreshing. I love the fact that it packs such a punch with the sour kumquat AND lemon juice. My favorite part about it was the delicious chia seeds. The big downside of this drink is that it doesn't sit well after a while. It ends up getting WAY too sour. -Avocado Smoothie (5/10). There's probably a reason why this option isn't on their main menu. It's really hard to make ANY drink/dessert with avocados, and so I commend them for trying. Basically, this smoothie was WAY too hard for my girlfriend to consume. The avocado makes the drink extremely heavy to the point where you had to suck for long periods on the straw just to get stuff out. If you order this, make sure to not add pearls. That just doubles the trouble. -Experience/Ambiance (10/10). What, you can order experience/ambiance as a drink on their menu? Maybe it was because we were so tired after a hot day, but there was just something so relaxing about the atmosphere at 99% Tea House. Even though this boba shop is tiny, the music, really cute decor (they have little flower pots!), AND the fact that they have some board games/cards, makes 99% Tea House a SUPER peaceful place to just chill for a couple hours. I can't help but also appreciate that it's very quiet here too (no traffic unlike Gong Cha ugh). All in all, I really enjoyed our visit to 99% Tea House. I can guarantee you it probably won't be the BEST BOBA of your life for most people, BUT it's a really great place to just drink and relax. Especially with the climate now, it's pretty tough to find time out of the day to just "sit," but you can definitely do it here. The atmosphere makes it great for catching up with friends! I definitely give 99% Tea House a "nice-su, you can take your parents here and they'll be happy" rating. People have made jokes about 99% Tea House's name so here's mine: 99% experience, 1% tea. i recently tried this place for the first time & i'm definitely a fan! i tried the Matcha Sea Creama drink (one of their top faves) & it was delicious! my first thought after my first sip was..."it's SUPERRRR matcha-y! however, it's really good---especially if you're a matcha/green tea fan. i enjoyed my drink & drank every bit of it. but, i do wish that it was creamier. my sister ordered the Original Milky with black rice & i also enjoyed that drink too. we didn't lessen the sugar levels of the drinks & they were perfect just the way it was prepared. I never ordered a milk tea from here, so I can't review this place for that, but they have other drinks too that are really good and can't be found in other places. My favorite drink was their Original Milky with purple rice. I didn't know what a "Milky" was, but I'm glad I tried it. I think the drink is milk + boiled purple rice + sugar. It's sweet but not too sweet. Purple rice is used for some asian desserts, and it's so cool to find a store near me to sell that. I usually ordered the Milky with 75% sugar and less ice. My other favorite drink is their Kumquat Lemon Green Tea. I usually replace the Aloe with Lychee jelly, which they do for free. I like the drink because the jelly and basil seeds make it chewy. The lemon tea is also not too sugary, and I get it with 100% sugar and less ice I give it 5 stars for these two drinks since they're so yummy and I can't really find these drinks in other stores, but not everything on their menu is good. Located right in the same plaza as Satomi's! I had pretty high expectations for this place hence their overwhelming 4.5 stars on Yelp. I was craving for something matcha, but went with my gut and stuck to my regular Jasmine Milk Tea. It's always my safety pick when try out new boba joints. I watched them make it and the color seemed promising. It was definitely a solid drink. It had a strong jasmine tea flavor, yet still creamy, but not overbearing with sweetness or on the edge of being too milky. The boba was good. It's not the best and it didn't amaze me enough to give it a higher rating, but it's a place I'd definitely return to while in Fremont. I'm always on the hunt for new boba places to try and it makes me happy when I can add it to my A list. The taste of the puff cream Nutella milk tea totally merits shaving off some years of my life away, even at 100% sweetness with pudding. Also, the pudding is pretty tasty. It's got the slight caramel aftertaste while being slightly eggy. Wonderful. I asked for the matcha avocado smoothie with no sugar, but it ended up being a bit bland of course, so I wouldn't recommend that (I added in my own sugar-free sugar). The employee happily inquired if I brought it and said it would be ok if I wanted to add that as he was making my drink, so kind of him! Totally coming back. The service was very thoughtful and the drinks are intriguing. 2 drinks was a little less than $9 but are pretty big. I normally live in an area of the UK where the glory that is bubble tea hasn't caught on yet so during my visits back to California it's something that I really look forward to. After seeing a bunch of Instagram posts showing Tiger Milk Tea I did a Yelp search to see what shops serve it and decided to come here. ~ Atmosphere: A really small shop with an odd atmosphere, not like those typical ritzy and shiny new places that have been popping up. It is a very basic shop with a TV playing music videos from the early 2000s (Nickelback and Evanescence) which made for an odd experience to say the least! ~ Customer Service: The staff were nice, but took way too long. My bubble tea came out fast but we had also ordered a bubble waffle with condensed milk that took about 12 minutes. What was expected to be a quick in-and-out trip ended up needing me to sit down and finish have my bubble tea before we even got the waffle. ~ Food: Really loved the Tiger Milk Tea. Very generous with the syrup and left an excellent flavour that wasn't too sweet at all. Probably going to be my staple bubble tea order from now on! The waffle though wasn't great at all. Actually undercooked and still a little bit soggy in the middle. Grub hub told me estimated 20-40 minutes but when we arrived at 99% (maybe about 10 minutes after the order was placed) all but one of the drinks were complete. I was really surprised considering they were really busy and there were only three women (that i could see) working. They are super fast!! Everyone in my group enjoyed their drink. The puff cream/cream puff drink was pretty sweet even though we got 30% sweetness. It was really creamy though, more so than we've ever tasted at other places. This was also my favorite panda milk tea that I've had-- the toffee taste was very bold and the sweetness was just right. The inside felt a bit cramped and muggy -- it was hot over the weekend and as I previously mentioned about the aesthetics of this plaza the building needs some work. Was looking for a unique bubble tea place that would be different from the chains that we usually go to and found this place. The place wasn't that busy when we arrived. The young man behind the counter was very friendly and was very helpful in helping us make our drink decision. He asked questions of our taste preferences and made very convincing recommendations for us. At the end, I end up with the Jasmine green tea with salted cheese creama and lychee jelly. My bf ended up with kumquat lemon green tea with basil seeds, aloe, and lychee jelly. The drinks came out awesome AND he also gave me instructions on how to drink my drink. He said taste the creama first and then drink. After I'm done half way, shake everything up and I will get lychee green milk tea. It was very good advice.
