    Rainbow roll
    Flora S.

My hubby and I came here for lunch yesterday. This is our fifth time. As usual we were greeted by a lady and were seated right away. They had the FIFA finals on, so that was a plus! Also I mentioned from my previous review, that, it is really nice to see a female as the sushi maker. The vibe here is really great as well! We ordered sashimi deluxe (16 pieces), rainbow roll and volcano roll. All I can say is, they have the best rolls I have ever eaten! The rainbow rolls rice and crab is moist, the fish melts in your mouth and so full of flavors. The avocado on the top was a great touch as well. The volcano roll was warm and yummy. This roll melt in your mouth as you chew it. Both were Soooo fresh and delicious!!!! The sashimi deluxe presentation was beautiful in a huge white bowl, filled with ice and daikon strings, orchid flowers and fish eggs. The 4 types of fish were beautifully decorated on the top. Wow, every bite was so amazing, so fresh and the texture of the sashimi was like eating an A5 wagyu or filet mignon. It was that delicious and such an amazing experience. We were in Japan last year and the sushi here is way, way better! This place is truly a gem. I can't express it enough how amazing this place is! You need to go if you want to experience a great sushi/sashimi.

I really like this place. Clean, chill music, and very good food. I think their food is well priced and it hits the spot midweek when I just want some sushi and a beer to relax. This is my second time visiting ChaCho and the reason I came back is the *attention to detail* that the server and chef has. It's certainly not a place to socialize with the staff but they obviously still care. I bring a book in and I'll read as I eat bc honestly I don't really want to talk to too many people. My table is quietly being maintained and I do not feel rushed. A great place for sushi. Highly recommend. 5 Stars.

    Salmon (D)Teriyaki Salmon Deluxe
    Amy Z.

Ordered the large salmon teriyaki bento which includes the gyoza, sashimi, salad, California roll, miso soup and the salmon teriyaki. Definitely worth the price, it's $18.95 before tax. The bento prices are pretty worth it, ranges from $13.95-19.95. It depends on the size that you are getting. The salmon teriyaki is a bit of a thin cut, but the flavor was great and salmon was soft too. Also for the price and the other food that you get, it's still pretty filling. Service is fast and the staff are sweet. Handle the food and packaging with care when I went to pick the food up. The environment is clean and does get a bit busy during lunch time. Another side note is that it is a bit hard to find parking. But the food and price are worth it! Most likely I would continue to get pick up to avoid finding parking. Definitely will come back to try their other dishes.

Affordable! Attentive service! Large portions! This is a solid Japanese restaurant right on Mission St if you're looking for tasty sushi rolls, quality sashimi, or crispy tempura. Prices are shockingly affordable for San Francisco. I visited on a Monday around 7pm and there wasn't a wait at all. This is the best place for a casual weekday dinner where you're craving quality sushi.

Had dinner reservations but was running late. We were still able to walk in and get seated pretty quickly. It wasn't that busy for a Saturday night. We ordered: Spicy Garlic Edamame Super Jalapeno Super Bomb Chicken Katsu (Single Entree Dinner) Chicken Teriyaki (Single Entree Dinner) The edamame was so good. The sauce was sweet but not too spicy and love the garlic with it. Really addicting to eat. Both the super Jalapeno and super bomb were delicious. Lots of food with the single entree dinners. Chicken Katsu was crispy and went well with the katsu sauce. I saw that they received a lot of to-go orders and can absolutely see why. It's a casual place and another good option in San Francisco for Sushi.

Had a really nice experience at Chacho. Situated right in Mission St. it is very central. The restaurant has a nice arrangement of tables for a small group to a large party. Our wait staff was on point, on time and very attentive. She definitely made the experience enjoyable. The menu is expansive with a lot of wonderful options, some unique and local. The portions were nice and good. The sushi was very good. Loved the different flavors and assembly of the food. The rolls were rolled tight! The rice perfect. The sauces blasting with flavor, the heat was perfect. The sushi was it! Highly recommend.

We ordered for takeout -- food was okay, decent. Service was quick and friendly, and pickup was smooth and easy.

I loved this sushi place. Literally anything with cooked or raw salmon on it was delicious. The women who were working were so sweet and attentive. Loved seeing a woman as the sushi chef (it's usually predominantly male sushi chefs at the sushi restaurants I visit) we went on a Saturday in the afternoon and it was not busy at all. Found parking right in front. We were sat right away, and we did not wait long for our sushi. Pricing isn't horrible, and food was pretty top tier for me! Fish tastes fresh, and they had many options to choose from. Will definitely be coming here again when craving sushi :)

A lot of selection, but meh sushi. Seated quickly, plenty of space in the restaurant. Bento box opens available for lunch and dinner, it is cheaper during lunch. Able to order 2 or 3 items: add $$ for sashimi, nigiri, beef. The miso soup is good. The salad dressing was a bit chunky. The sashimi could be improved as it was not as smooth as other sashimi I've had. Salmon teriyaki was slightly dried. Overall, it was was okay meal, maybe their sushi rolls are better

This is my second visit to this establishment, and I am consistently impressed with the quality of both the food and service, which remain exceptional. The restaurant features a well-lit interior with ample space, creating a comfortable dining environment. Additionally, there are decorative lights and a Christmas tree near the entrance, adding to the festive atmosphere. My mother ordered the salmon teriyaki bento box, while I chose the salmon teriyaki lunch special. Stop by if you're in the area.

    Dinner combo B-1 Chicken Teriyaki/California Roll(3pcs)/Tempura
    Angelo J.

Server was really nice when I came in to pick up the food. The area was very neat and clean with nice and soft music. Teriyaki salmon was great, and the teriyaki chicken was pretty good though could've been toasted a bit longer with more sauce. California rolls were great, exactly what you'd expect/want. Tempura was amazing and we were given a lot on each of the dinner combos. Miso soup and side salads were good and fitting. Spicy BBQ pork was flavorful, though not very spicy (which isn't a big deal). Only small complaint was the over abundance of onion included with the spicy BBQ pork, but overall not a problem. Would definitely recommend this place to others!

I came here with a girlfriend and we really enjoyed the sushi. It's nothing too fancy which I actually love since most sushi spots in the city are pricey so this is a great place. That's a little bit more affordable and low-key. I came here with a girlfriend and we really enjoyed the sushi. It's nothing too fancy which I actually love since most sushi spots in the city are pricey so this is a great place. That's a little bit more affordable and low-key. We ordered the Hamachi lovers roll, it was good, but I wish the fish tasted more fresh. I really loved the Volcano Roll, I would order it again. I tried the Salmon Hand rolll and liked it too. I thought it was a good portion size.

Agedashi Tofu ($6.50) - 3 stars. The outer layer was more sticky than crispy. Sat lunch 2025-02-08

I'm all about promoting my neighborhood and our local spots, but I'll have to be honest, I'm pretty shocked Chacho has 5 stars. This place was good and we will probably come back, but I found all the food to be very average at best. For some reason a huge portion of the sushi roll menu has cream cheese. I'm not the biggest fan so it really limited my options. THE COST $101.52 total (including tax/tip) for lunch for 2 adults, 2 young kids. We did get to use their opening deal which was a free beer or sake for each (adult) diner. FAMILY FRIENDLY This was fine for our kids as we just got plain udon, but they dont have a kid's menu and I'm not sure about high chairs/booster seats (I didn't see any, but there weren't any babies/toddlers there). THE WAIT None on a Saturday at 12:45pm. THE FOOD * Edamame ($4.95) - 3 stars. * Agedashi Tofu ($6.50) - 3 stars. The outer layer was more sticky than crispy. * Plain Udon ($7.95) - 3.5 stars. Fine, kids liked it. * Sake Sushi ($6) - 3.5 stars. * Cherry Blossom Roll ($15.95) - 3 stars. Fish was really not very fresh. * Dragon Roll ($14.95) - 3.5 stars. * King Philly ($14.95) - 3 stars.

The location is unusual, as the restaurant is open to the mall, which is a bit disruptive. I came for the 8:30pm seating, but the previous guests were still finishing, so I had to wait until 8:45pm. The staff did not seem very concerned. Bad start. You could also hear the mall cleaning crew during dinner, which was not very pleasant. I ordered the 24-item Mizuho Menu, as did all the other guests. There were 5 guests in total (the restaurant can seat up to 8 people). Here is the menu I was served at the end of May: 1. starter: ama ebi cracker with caviar, pickled lotus root with shaved bonito, crab salad 2. nigiri 4x: isaki, iwana, myabi tai, kanpachi 3. sashimi: chutoro, hotate with caviar, umi masu, sawada 4. nigiri 8x: hirame, suzuki, inada, kurodai, shima aji, kamasu, otoro, aged A5 wagyu, kinmedai 5. hot dish: miso soup with inari and shrimp head, hokkaido uni with marinated ikura, black cod, umi masu with raw yellow egg and caviar 6. dessert: matcha ice cream with strawberry Frankly, the food was excellent. The starter was not very creative, but the nigiri were great. The sashimi selection was very nice, with some fish you do not see as often in omakase menus, such as isaki, iwana, and myabi tai, a kind of tai. Sawada was delicious and is always a good inclusion. We asked for some wasabi and received a small cup of kizami wasabi, a chopped wasabi with a slightly crunchy texture, which was a nice touch. For the nigiri, all the classics of a good omakase were present: otoro, kinmedai, shima aji, uni, hotate, and wagyu. Kamasu was also included, and it is one of my favorite fish. It is also worth noting that they age both their beef and their tuna, including the otoro that was served. A few pieces were torched, maybe a few too many. Overall, the service was not memorable, although chef Ron Au was friendly and nice. The place itself felt a bit questionable, and my expectations were not very high after the beginning of the meal. But the food was truly excellent, and for that reason I think it deserves 5 stars.
