I decided to change it up and ordered #71 (fish in curry marinade and coconut sauce). The fish was very succulent and the curry was just right. Come to think of it the tiger prawn in the Pad Thai gooong was also very succulent. They almost tasted like fresh unfrozen seafood from my childhood. I definitely recommend Chad Thai. read more

Smallish restaurant with family style cooking. This place gave me the closest feeling to the food I so dearly miss from Thailand. I came here for the first time for lunch today. I had the green beef curry, which was really quite good--maybe bordering on being a bit too sweet, but very rich in flavour and generally delicious. Decent pad see ew. A bit bland, but filled with gai lan (Chinese broccoli) which you don't always get. I wish it had more dark soy sauce flavor but it was still yummy. One of my New Year's resolutions is to try and eat more Thai food. There's good Thai food and then there's bad Thai food which is probably the reason why I rarely ate Thai food in the past. The good news is now that I have a wide variety of cultural diversely among my group of friends I'm more comfortable venturing out into the culinary world of Thai food. I'm still not sold on iced tea coffee. I admittedly I've only had maybe two so far and both were overly sweet. I asked the waitress if she could make sure mine was half the sweetness. Even at half it felt like a cavity assault. Maybe it's a cultural thing and how they serve their coffee which is why I do not feel that this warrants a rating deduction. I took one sip and that was at my friends finish the rest. But all was not lost on this adventure. I had the fried rice with chicken which was really well prepared. Surprisingly it wasn't as greasy as other fried rice places. Service was friendly and fast and the prices were more than reasonable. read more

Fair curry- poor service- bad pad Thai. Curry was average same as any other Thai place. The waitress did not understand English and didn't understand about vegetarian and no chicken . We eventually gave up. Soup was plain broth with deep fried wontons - appetizer. Not appetizing. Spring roll was vegetarian and that as hot and tasty. Now to the pad Thai - the dish by which you judge Thai restaurants. It did have the preserved radish that most don't so kudos. But it had store bought large deep fried tofu chunks that tasted just out of the package. The "prawn" upgrade offered 3 small shrimp. And there was no green onion or cilantro very few peanuts and worst of all the whole thing seriously tasted like dishwater and bad seafood broth. It was very bad. We won't be back read more

Mmm Chad Thai... I came here just before the noon rush. The decor is eclectic and cozy, with comfortable booths and also tables for bigger parties. We ordered the beef curry which came with rice on the side, and a kind of stir fry dish (I'll have to look at the photo again) . She can't eat spicy so the stir fry was perfect for her... A little sweet, a little salty. My curry was mildly spicy, so next time I'll go with my initial choice of the green curry. The beef was disappointing though: instead of using beef brisket or another cut that comes somewhat cubed, they used the kind of beef that Chinese people use in stir fry noodles, which I think didn't go as well with the dish since that kind of beef just doesn't melt into the sauce quite the same way. I also ordered the Thai ice tea and that was as expected, sweet and refreshing. As for service... At some restaurants they try to wait until at least two of the dishes ordered for a table are ready before serving them, or at least say that one dish takes longer than the other. My dish took about ten minutes longer to come out than the other, and so out of politeness she had to wait for ten minutes while her food got cold for mine to come. I have been off work for one month because of his foot surgery. Was looking for something interesting to eat around after reading the reviews of another restaurant that I usually go to where everyone says they must have had new owners I decided to check out this place near my home but I have never been here. When I inquired about delivery they sent me to the website "DoorDash "so I ordered my Tom Yum soup and my green beef curry and my pad Thai with tofu and I had not specified any hotness but every dish is perfect and someone recommended the coconut rice and it too was worth ordering. The DoorDash app was so cool because the driver texted me and I could see the progression of my order. I even had the charges removed because it was my first time and I can recommend other people and save seven dollars. I will definitely go back to this restaurant and meet the find chefs who prepared lunch for me and my family. Thank you! read more

Stumbled upon this place on Yelp hoping for some good food -- and it was just that! We had chicken satay, chicken wings, pad Thai, fried rice and a curry with coconut rice on the side. We had to wait for our table as they were busy but the staff were helpful and offered to take our order early so that once we got our seats, the food would be served. The pad Thai and curry were on the sweeter side and the fried rice could be salted a bit more but overall, we would all definitely come again! read more

I would give this place 3.5 stars if there was such an option. Had dinner here. Very slow service and a bit of confusion on their end. I also found it very strange that the guy working there was wearing disposable gloves the whole time (running food, handing out menus, hopefully not also preparing food with the same gloves - yuck). Ordered fish cake (okay), satay (dry, white meat), khao soi gai (too watery), papaya salad (good), massamum beef curry (pretty good flavor), pad thai (very good - maybe best I've had in Van). I found the curries a bit skimpy on the meat/veggies. Not a place to go unless you want to be having dinner for 2 hours. Took a long time to get the menus, drinks and then for them to come take our order. Staff was very nice and friendly. Pad Thai was good but I ordered the chicken and it was half chicken half tofu and not much of either and the tofu was hard. The papaya salad was terrible, it tasted and smelled like garbage, only had a few bites. We also had the eggplant stir fry, which was far below our expectation. Highly Recommend Living in Port Moody and driving by that area all the time and not stopping seemed wrong. Last week, my family and I went there to have dinner. Your foods were so delicious and we really liked Thai foods. These foods are the same as real Thai foods bacause I like to find delicious Thai restaurants. Your restaurant is one of the best Thai restaurants for me. Furthermore, I was surprised with a tall guy who can work everything in the same time such as taking orders, serving foods and cleaning tables. Wow - I was really impressed with Chad Thai! Best Thai food I've had in Metro Vancouver for sure - in fact, we usually have to go to Portland or Seattle to get Thai food this good. We had the glass noodle salad with ground pork & prawns, ordered it spicy (I told the waitress/owner that we wanted it so spicy that it would make us cry) and it did not disappoint. The spiciness melded perfectly with the rest of the flavours and did not overwhelm, though. It was just perfect! We also had the crispy pork belly with Asian greens - delicious! The dessert was the special of the day - red rice with taro topped with a salty/sweet coconut milk. So yummy! The service was excellent, and the owner even took some time to explain to us what some of the Thai words on the menu meant and how to pronounce them, which I really appreciated. read more
