Chada is a must every time I'm in town. When the staff's first language is Thai, you know it's gonna slap. Chada is tucked into an underground space filled with embroidered chairs, photo-filled chests, and traditional Thai sculptures. There's something warm and familiar about it, like you've stepped into someone's extended living room, but in the best way. The angel wings and basil eggplant are straight-up Southeast Asian dreams. The tom yum is a pure flavor bomb. My dream is to come back on a rainy day because I just know it'll heal me.

Fire as fuckkkk, the pad thai was all sauced up and spicy. The tom yum soup with tom yummy. And the shrimp was so fat and fresh. The thai tea w boba was delish and not watered down. I loooved the boba, i dont think it's traditional boba thoough, its less chewy and softer. I didn't like the sticky mango rice bc it was too sticky for my liking but my mom DEVOURED. I love that it's downstairs and the server was nice! Very pretty place with nice quiet music.

Good day Yelpies !!! When it comes to Thai food everyone seems to have a basic understanding of the taste and the portions so then it just must be the normal... Well let's talk about the not so normal... Like true homemade Thai food that will light up your taste buds and reward you with amazing flavor at every bite.., yes this is true Thai food. And because it's made fresh it will take longer and that shouldn't sway you. Be patient because it's worth the wait... so you your taste buds a favor and get in here and enjoy real Thai cuisine that will keep you coming back for more every time. Attached pics are from their site as I was a bit hungry and forgot to take pics of this amazing food.

Menu

We accidentally showed up just before closing, but they seated us and served us anyway, and let us stay until we were done, long after they had closed. They were incredibly kind. They have an extensive menu, and can make almost anything on the menu vegetarian/vegan. I ordered the Masaman Curry (vegan), and he ordered the Chada Noodle entree (not vegan). We both LOVED our food. Very flavorful and fresh! I would love to eat here again next time we're in Chico. I'm so sad this place isn't in Redding. We almost walked past it, the place is down some stairs, below street level. The ambience is nice, it's super cute inside. Much nicer than I was expecting. I couldn't seem to find a menu anywhere online, so I took a lot of photos.

62. Fried Tofu, boyfriend was a huge fan I thought it was a little dry. But the peanut sauce it comes with is yummy (:

Our second time visiting Chada's and this place is so good! It's a small family run business with big flavors and sooo many options! Their green Curry is top tier and my boyfriend is in love with the spicy red duck curry the Thai tea is also so yummy! For drinks we had the mango drink which was good not a strong alcohol taste at all, and the PLUM WINE so good! I'm not a wine person and I even loved it. The waiters are so friendly and on top of things whether it's empty or a completely full establishment like it was on Valentine's Day. 12/10 recommend

BBQ Chicken Entree

I picked up some takeout, with one of the items being the BBQ chicken entree, and got home to realize that the potions were very small. The chicken itself was good and I didn't have an issue with the rest of my order, but I felt like I was taken advantage of considering the price I paid. I called for clarification, and they said that I ordered the a la carte and that it's the normal portions that they've given out for years, and they pride themselves on their portion sizes. I just started going there and I'm unaware of the portion they usually give out, but entrees typically give more food than what I got. When I mentioned that I ordered and got charged for an entree and not a la carte, they shifted to saying that everything is more expensive these days (fair enough) and that they need to do this to operate. Just a little disappointed and curious if others receive the same portions. Seems like a cool spot otherwise.

57. Yellow Curry

Best Thai food in Chico! Love the yellow curry with chicken! Also the combo appetizer! I'd recommend this place to close friends and family! Watch out for the great service!

I reeeeeally wanted to like this place and after many attempts to eat here (and finding them…read moreclosed), I FINALLY discovered them open during the Downtown Christmas Preview. I was beyond excited to try the spicy katsu chicken sando (I literally attempted eating here for 2 months but kept missing their open hours. They are VERY limited). The pricing I was charged was a bit more than what was on their menu, which I hadn't noticed until after the fact. :-/ When the sandwich arrived it was not at all what expected. I looked up the sandwich months ago and it appeared to be a juicy chicken breast between sliced cabbage on thick, fluffy bread. What I got was some beat up, flattened GREEEEEEASY gummy chicken that wasn't the least bit appetizing. It reminded me of frog legs and I was pretty much grossed out after the 2nd bite. The bread was exactly the same as Astesano Bakery Bread and didn't seem "home made" as their menu states. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't (home made) but it sure seemed like the same bread I buy at Safeway. Needless to say I was BEYOND bummed out. I guess that's partially my fault though, I mean... I saw a picture they used to have posted on their menu (it's no longer there) and had expectations that it was going to be exactly the same, which it most certainly was NOT. If I could sum it up in 2 words: Gummy & Greasy. Yuck. The best part was the cabbage so, that's what I ate and ditched the rest of the "sandwich" to the trash. So yeah, $13 + tip for some cabbage. Awesome. With that said, I don't recommend this place for the Sando's but! I may return for the egg rolls. They look good in the pictures however since I got 100% duped this time around, I think I'll ask if anybody I personally know has tried the egg rolls first before I spend any more money here. I do like their outdoor dining and if they could move the ginormous trash bins away from the outside dining tables it would be a great place to dine (who wants to eat next to trash cans??) I'll end on a positive note and say, I did like that they have an option of indoor or outdoor dining, if they move the trash cans, that would be my preferred place to eat.

Such a lovely and unique spot that adds to the fun of downtown Chico. I just poked my head in to…read morecheck it out today and was totally charmed - it's not Japanese, but the menu items, instant ramen bar and awesome selection of Asian soft drinks and canned cocktails remind me of the convenience stores in Japan that I miss so much. Today I just tried the Hmong sausage and Thai tea. The lady working was sweet and let me sample the tea to test its sweetness. I think it's spot-on. The sausage is perfectly juicy, spicy and savory. It's rich, flavorful, and reminds me of the holidays.
