Overall a decent bowl of pho for the area. If you are looking for a decent bowl of pho that will tickle that craving just right and you are in the Chico area, i doubt you would get anything better than this. The broth is beefy and savory and the beef brisket wasn't too dry. Sadly, no limes. I would have also liked the broth to have a stronger anise/cinnamon pho spice flavor. The bowl was also missing tendon and tripe, which would have made it several levels better. Great customer service though. I asked for extra cilantro on the side. read more

Mediocre at best. We ordered shrimp spring rolls, potstickers and a grilled chicken plate. They overcooked the potstickers and the chicken pounded so thin it tough after cooking. We just ordered to-go but it's simple and unassuming indoors. The food was delicious! My only gripe is a complete lack of veggies.. the spring rolls were delicious with the peanut sauce, but it was just tofu, rice noodles, and shredded romaine.. The veg pho had no veggies at all.. plenty of tofu which is great for protein, and the broth is delicious! But... no veggies at all.. not even a few pieces of broccoli, carrots or cabbage.. nada lol so it's def strange.. Still delicious! read more

Traveled to Chico for a new job orientation at the organizations hub. And nearest pho house was: Pho C&C. Not only was the pho outstanding the customer service was excellent. There is just that modest feeling when you come to a pho house and the staffs are very welcoming and never let your cup run empty (that's the kind of feel that you have when you walk into C&C. In addition to having succulent delicious meals the Thai tea, delicate flavor and blend was so satisfactory, I smiled the whole entire day. The spring rolls however are a world of missed opportunities. I had the beef pho and it was great. Perfect for a rainy day. I loved the service. I ordered over the phone for pick up and the person who took my order was nice, friendly, answered all my questions. The cashier even helped me carry my large order to my car since I was carrying my infant in one arm. Without hesitation he offered to take the food to my car. He did not have to do that but he did, which made my experience with this restaurant even better. Great food, great people, great experience. read more

I miss how the pho was made when it was owned by the original owner. There are new owners now and unfortunately the pho is not the same anymore. The distance you have to drive to get to the restaurant is not worth it anymore. Hopefully they change the recipe because if not I don't think they'll get the Best of Chico award. read more

On my journey to find a good pho spot in Chico has come to an end and this place truly disappoints. Food: Broth is bland and tastes like water with lime. I asked for extra MSG to have some flavor but they refused to put any in. Service: The place is severely understaffed, the restaurant was full but only had one server. I waited over 35 minutes for a bowl of pho. Vibe: Good layout of the restaurant and has typical Asian restaurant decor. Just don't waste your money by coming here read more

Hot pho, Nice sized LG Bowl... toppings portion wasn't enough to share sadly.... u got two leafs of basil and more stouts then anyone would normally like and a dry like not their fault tho I let that slide because the broth was the star of the show.... The broth was amazing and thankfully my favorite part! I wish there was an option for a more authentic combo. Like Beef rounds,Tendon and more fatty Bites would have made my day. But I know not everyone is as adventurous as I am:-) Sadly the reason why I am giving the 3 stars and not 4 is after ordering and not receiving all items. it was extremely difficult to catch their attention, specially if someone was on their lunch! Ok pho, a bit sparse on the meats however large amount of side basil and sprouts as well as descent tasting. The chicken wings were also ok and not special. Prices are fair. No alcohol at all. Nice people serving however after our waitress dropped off our chek we had to wait for at least 10 minutes while she walked by our table a number of times as well as I saw her talking in the kitchen for at least 2 minutes while we were waiting to pay. read more

I thought that it may be hard to have the same experience at home, but Pho C&C has made it easy for me to enjoy pho at home! Takeout for pho is quick and easy - no longer than 10 minutes. Got a small Super Bowl ($7) and it was the perfect amount for lunch. It had shrimp, beef, and fish balls. I also had half a spring roll and a chicken pot sticker my coworkers ordered. It was only a one dollar difference between the small and large bowls. I think the server said 24 oz was small and 32 oz was large. The food was ready fairly quickly as well. We miss the old owners Quinn and her family but the new owners seem to have kept most things the same including the recipes. They also seem eager to take on a new adventure and are very friendly. Best pho and egg rolls in Chico. iI is the most out of the way restaurant for me here in Chico but I will make the drive anytime for this place.... The owners here are awesome and the food is on par with any excellent Vietnamese food I've ever had. What else is there to say? Two stars because "I couldn't get more Star Anise"? Or "Extra duck head in my bone broth please--or I'll give you two stars" If you're a reasonable adult that remembers life before this boom of idiots, you should eat here while there is still a good option. Year after year this place wins Best of Chico in the Pho category. Year after year I try it, and now, I am finally satisfied that I just don't like it. Today I had the 'house special' which is a bowl of noodles in broth with beef, brisket and meat balls. There are no options with tripe or tendon. The broth was sweet for some reason. The reason being obvious; that they put sugar in what is supposed to be a savory broth. Otherwise it was quite bland. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the broth is made in minutes from prepackaged beef broth, water and sugar only. It's a restaraunt that caters to rural Americans who have never had the pleasure or inclination to seek out more authentic Vietnamese cuisine. I felt patronized and embarrassed as a customer who the staff must believe dislikes all seasonings minus sugar and salt. Judging by its popularity, for most patrons, they may be right (which is even more embarrassing). It's a shame that their aren't any places in town that take the time to prepare pho broth in the traditional, time consuming fashion. Vietnam Bistro gets closest IMO. 1 star above the minimum due to the delicious, deep fried and carby treat that are their egg rolls. read more
