Went for Mother's Day Brunch and I was incredibly disappointed. Chicken & pork station was cold. We had a later seating and a lot of food was picked over. If you're having scheduled seatings later for a specially priced brunch the food should be plentiful throughout the day. If you want to charge premium prices provide quality food to justify the cost. So what is a "Country Club" atmosphere you ask? Well, since you asked, I'll tell you. Most country clubs have golf courses so that's often included in the vibe of these places. Chadwick's is no exception. The dining room and bar overlooks the course with lots of windows. There is outside seating which is killer for Happy Hour on a balmy summer day. The mahogany bar is very nice and it's in an upscale white tablecloth restaurant. Just because I said upscale doesn't mean you need to dress up. Casual clothes are just fine. If you want to give them a try I suggest either the Happy Hour or the weekday lunch special. Every weekday you can choose between two soups, a hot or cold 1/2 sandwich and a side salad for $8 and change. Today I chose mushroom soup which was loaded with those wonderful fungi and had a nice touch of sherry. My side salad was plated beautifully but could have been a little bit fresher. My 1/2 roast beef wrap was packed with meat and included tasty horseradish on the side. Service was very speedy which is always appreciated at lunch. Down the road at the corner of Egypt and Trooper is every fast food joint and chain you can imagine. Sometimes you just sigh and say "I need something different today." Very impressed by this brunch. It was only $15/person (tea & coffee included) and my friend's daughter was free even though she probably ate more than the rest of us. Eggs were made to order so the line was a little long. Pancakes and waffles were fresh and warm. Lots of fruit choices in their own bowls. Sausage, bacon (could be a little crispier), variety of toast and other pastries. There were lunch options like soup, pasta salad, and a carving station. The food never ended! Big dessert table with Swedish apple cake, chocolate cake, cheesecake, brownies, cannoli, and pastries. I had the BEST fish tacos I've ever had in my life just yesterday! I am super picky about this dish and I just could not believe how delicious they were. First off they used Chilean Sea Bass which is such a wonderful choice as it was so meaty, flaky and perfectly cooked. Sat on a bed of black bean and corn salsa with avocado chipotle lime sauce on the side (I requested) on a white corn tortilla. The portion was so large I couldn't close the tortilla so I just ate with a fork. Cannot wait to go back and have again! read more

Went for brunch on 5/6 with my sister. It's 14.99 per person. On the brunch buffet they had a carving station, omelet station, waffles/french toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, various breads and pastries. Of the lunch variety they had stuffed shells, chicken marsala, deviled eggs, various pasta salads, garden salad, and some desserts. Food was not warm and lacked flavor. Chadwick's is a local gem! Every visit has heen even better. Beautiful setting on the golf course - we always choose outdoors. Service is prompt, and servers are very knowledgeable about drinks and menu. Today my omnivore husband had the delicious wild mushroom soup, and the trout grilled with lemon butter (choose your fish, then how you want it prepared, then the sides). Trout was tender and delicious, and truly boneless. I am vegetarian. The "cauliflower steak" was over the top. Cooked perfectly with a delicious sauce, side of thin spaghetti squash and tiny potatoes. One of the best vegetarian dishes that I have ever had. My husband would come to Chadwick's every Friday night for happy and to watch the Phillies or whatever the season. We would meet our friends there and also have made friends there. Recently they decided to take Miller Lite off the beer tap and completely disappoint a lot of customers including myself. We did stop going there due to the Miller Lite issue but decided to over look it and return because we love it there. To our surprise NOW they have taken off the menu Chicken Parm and the Chicken Fingers that we would get every single time there, "due to the rising cost of chicken"!!!!! Are you kidding me!!! Visited here for Sunday brunch today with 11 other women to celebrate a special occasion. We were seated quickly and went up to the buffet while our server got us coffee and water. The food was good and the way the buffet was set up was very appealing. There was one rude male patron who butted in line to put his hand directly into the sausage links to grab one to eat on his way to his table. Yuck. When the bill came we had been told that since our table had more than 6+ people there is an automatic 20% tip added to the bill. I went to talk to the hostess about it and she said she would get the manager. I understand on large parties that an automatic 18-20% might get added, but for a buffet? A $45.00 tip to serve us coffee and water and take away our plates?! Really, I don't think so. The manager wouldn't budge. Said those were the rules. I really like this place, but that left a really bad taste in my mouth. So 5 people at a table can pick any amount of tip. But 6 or more people get fleeced. Tipping is a voluntary "thank you" to the server for exceptional service. But not at Chadwick's! read more

We went on $10 Tuesday with selected dinners for just ......$10!! The service was good, waitress was friendly and didn't mind that we were chatting with other patrons we know. Dinners were delicious, my neighbor doesn't eat meat so she got the chophouse without meat and they added extra of everything else. I had salmon #3 with artichoke and potato salad, not a bite left! I was pleasantly surprised by my meal here. I ordered the spare ribs with the apple cider-bourbon glaze, thinking in the back of my mind that this will just be a slightly jazzed up barbecue sauce, which would be satisfying, but got something a little more zesty and creative. We have dined at Chadwicks many times. Since the reopening after the COVID lockdown we have taken advantage of the outdoor dining half a dozen times. We have found the physical layout and the staff perfectly prepared to ensure a safe environment for us. This past Friday evening was a chilly one. Nice restaurant/bar on a golf course. We ate outside on the patio on a nice weather evening. Great atmosphere, the staff was excellent; our server Brooke made helpful suggestions. The salmon dish was really good, including the side salad, and the pale ale wheat beer suggested by Brooke was very good, and surprisingly priced well. The inside bar/restaurant appeared to be a nice setting also. I ordered the burger medium, it was really really dry. In retrospect I should have recognized the red flag when she asked me how I wanted my burger cooked. Next time I'll order the ribs or the steak, but I was feeling something simple that night and it backfired. The fries needed salt. The server was exceptionally good! She was so attentive that I didn't have to ask for refills, ketchup, nothing. The server was ready to box up our leftovers at an appropriate time and despite a large party the timing for everything was appropriate. If the burger wasn't so dry they probably would have been 4 stars. I couldn't drink alcohol that night because I was driving. read more

I worked at Chadwick's for many years as a server and bartender, so I may be a bit biased in terms of my overall liking of the place, but I now go there regularly as a customer and look forward to dining and drinking there. I really do. Their food is awesome, especially since they updated the menu several months ago. The restaurant itself is a bit removed from the main roadway, but the place is really a gem at the end of a long driveway. Here are my personal food recommendations: Apps: You can never go wrong with the Dragon Shrimp or Calamari. If you are watching your waistline, then order the Chicken Wraps. Entrees: I am obsessed with the Blue Corn Tacos, and I always order them with the pulled pork, or fish (blackened Talapia is my favorite.) Other favorites include the fish market selections (get the artichoke heart beurre blanc preparation - I usually have it with the salmon) and this time of year especially, the Low Country Short Ribs are the way to go. They are comfort food at its finest. Salads - Try the Grilled Chicken and Pear or the Chophouse. Wine - The wine menu changes a few times a year, but if you order a bottle try the Aquinas red Cabernet if they still have it. Beer - Let the bartenders recommend a craft beer for you - they know what's good! Speciality Drinks - Champagne Cosmo Desserts - Bread Pudding. Ask for a take out box and then eat the other half for breakfast, it's even better the next day. I also love the staff at Chadwick's. Some of them I worked with for a long time, (the friendly bartenders, for example and a couple of the current servers) and many others I do not know personally. However, all of them are consistently warm, friendly, and always make me feel welcomed and appreciated. read more

We ate a lovely lunch here today. Service was slow, but pleasant. Our server, Lisa did a terrific job with our party of 8 and everything was served as ordered. I had the Chadwick's chopped salad (minus the bacon, dresssing on the side) which was terrific. And for $10.95 it is gargantuan. Topped with a warm, sliced, grilled chicken breast. The interesting addition? Shaved white chocolate. YUMMY. CInnamon sweet potato fries were cold, but still addictive. A nice place - very upscale "country club" decor. The only complaint? Very slow service. Slow for a hostess to greet us, and slow to order and get our food. Don't come here if you are in a rush. Thankfully we weren't or I'd have to give it 2-3 stars. I discovered Chadwick's in the beginning of 2007 and I think I have been there about 25 times since that time. I love this place as a lunch spot during the week or an after work place to get a quick beverage. Chadwick's offers a blend of delicious cuisine, a very relaxing atmosphere and really great service. I've also hosted some work events there over the past year and Lori the event planner is one of the best. The menu selection is pretty traditional and the prices are very affordable. The full mahogany bar is beautiful and the outdoor seating in the warmer months is a must. The restaurant is actually on the grounds of the General Washington Golf Course so around happy hour the bar gets pretty packed with tired golfers who have just finished the 18th hole. There is ample parking and the waitstaff is extremely attentive and friendly.The restaurant was recently renovated to include a banquet room for a large event. Definitely try this place if you get the time. read more

I can give Chadwick's a 3-star review for several reasons. It was clean, the food was decent, and the beer was cold. Otherwise, the experience itself was lacking. We had to ask the waiter for many things multiple times - water, martinis, refills on beers. The dishes never seemed to get cleared in a timely manner. The food, as I said, was decent. We got some portabello fries to start with, which were a little soggy, and had not very much flavor. My boyfriend got a cheeseburger and onion soup that he really enjoyed, and we both loved our desserts (peanut butter cookie sundae and the mango Napolean). I got the scallop and shrimp fettuccine and Manhattan seafood chowder. Both were decent, a little underspiced, and the vegetables seemed canned. Also the corn in the pasta was a little out of place. The waiter was very kind, and maybe it was just an off night for him, but I don't know that I'd make the trip all the way out to Audobon again for the food. Pretty countryside surrounding the place though. If you go, say hi to the cows for me! read more

Cons: The soup was so-so. lacking flavor, and served only luke warm. The server who brought some of the food was very indifferent and unfriendly. He acted like he was doing us a favor; it seemed he must have just had a big fight in the kitchen. The entrees were served not hot enough.. The vegetables were a bit over cooked. Food so badly over cooked , and sitting so long it looked like it was prepared during Sherman's march on Atlanta! Everything was just sitting out so badly over cooked for hrs on end. The turkey looked like it was left over from the first Thanksgiving at Plymouth Rock! Scrambled eggs were so over cooked that they were harder than the rubber spatula used to scrap them on to the plate. In a world of quality verses quantity this is a heaping helping of dreadfulness! If one has the choice of eating the old box of baking soda in the back of your fridge or Chadwick's Sunday buffet say Bon appetite to the baking soda. read more

A solid 3 stars. Located on the grounds of just an average public golf course, Chadwick's and it's very nicely decorated and furnished interior, it's beautiful bar was my destination for the evening. Service at bars (as the servers cannot run and hide in the kitchen) is usually very good and this was no exception. There was a decent selection of drafts (decent is defined by me as having more than a handful of crafts including a minimum of 2 IPA's), and what looked like a varied selection of top shelf liquors. Appetizer specials at the bar for $5 were just OK. It was recommended to try the cheese steak spring roll (dry meat and couldn't taste the cheese) and the dragon shrimp (small shrimp, small flavor except for the sriracha sauce), the asian slaw served with the shrimp was OK...overall I could have done without. Entrees, the brick chicken had terrific crispy skin, a full half chicken. The leg and thigh were very good, but the breast was way overdone and dry. It was served with dry mashed potatoes and garlic laden broccoli. The pork shank was described by our server as fall from the bone, it was, but it was drier and not as tender as one would wish. The shank was served with a pappardelle pasta in a thick tomato sauce. The flavors of the pork, pasta and sauce were good, but the shank could have been more moist and less chewy. There were many things on a very reasonably priced menu that I would like to try in the future. So I will go back, but not necessarily soon. read more

This review is solely for happy hour. Is it odd that many of my reviews start out with that first sentence? Hmm.. Chadwicks a little off the beaten path, since the restaurant itself is hardly visible from the road (luckily there is a large sign by the road so you can't actually miss it) and not located next to any other businesses. The restaurant is much larger than I anticipated. You walk in to a wide open foyer with a host stand, and you can choose to walk into the bar or be seated in their spacious dining room. But again, this review is not for the dining room. I made it to happy hour the minute it started - and not by accident. There were only a few patrons already there, and so the bartender was quick to take care of me. There are many specials. Domestics are a mere $2 and all of the rest of their drafts, which included at least a half dozen craft and imported selections. House wine glasses AND well drinks are only $3.50. There is literally something for everyone here. (Except for my bff's adorable stepmother who asked the bartender for sprite zero. So cute. Just so you know, Chadwicks and any other bar on the planet do not have sprite zero.) There's also a special on appetizers for happy hour. I'm pretty sure it's half off appetizers, but don't quote me as it's been a month or two since I've been, and their website doesn't list the price. We were going somewhere else for dinner, but decided to try out their goat cheese bruschetta appetizer. The bite that I was able to snag was really good, I would absolutely order it again. I can't comment on the rest of their food, but I did peruse the menu and was surprised by the reasonable prices. Perhaps that's not a good thing, actually. I came here for a rehearsal dinner. My brother is on a raw, vegan and gluten-free diet. When I explained this to the waitress, she didn't eye roll, instead she was extremely accommodating. The chef started by making a fruit salad, a vegetable salad for dinner along with a sorbet. My brother absolutely loved it and he was introduced to new food to eat. Honestly, this really impressed me. I ate the Crab Cakes, which were layered with Corn Bread and came with Red Pepper Aioli. It wasn't a combination I would have thought of, but it was really good. The only issue I had with Chadwick's Restaurant was that the area that we had the rehearsal dinner in wasn't sectioned off completely. We were all eating in multiple tables, which was fine, but in order for other customers to get to the bathroom, they walked through the area where we were seated. This made things very awkward during toasts and when we were trying to speak across the tables. read more

This was my first time at Chadwick's, and I had a really nice time. The atmosphere was very well put together, and plenty of spaces in-between the tables. Even though the furniture and other accents to the dining room are really nice, it is still a slightly casual atmosphere. They do have a kids menu, and I saw a few families dining there. The food was great! My favorite was the Baked Goat Cheese Bruschetta. Plenty for one person (it was on the 1 person appetizer selection). Some of the items on the menu are a little on the pricier side, but I was able to find an appetizer and entree for less than $20. Everyone at my table was happy with their meals, and have no complaints. Will most likely go again. read more

I've been back-and-forth about Chadwicks's. I want to like it, it has a nice atmosphere interesting specials and bar menu's. They've seem to struggle over the years to find themselves, but I think they're starting to get it. I now prefer this as a happy hour kind of place. Their bar menu with their $5 appetizers are all very tasty but not the typical hot wings, mozzarella sticks, nachos, etc that you get at a dive bar. Let me start by saying we had a wonderful server who happen to be the bartender too.Stephanie was a joy, especially having dined here before and not having the best of service. I felt that the chef is trying to do some very interesting spins on the dishes. Our mozzarella app was wedges with a nice panko crust served with roasted tomatoes and basil leaves, interesting and yummy. My cod entree was over cooked but the hash of silver queen corn, bacon and potatoes under it was excellent. My husbands short rib stuffed pasta was just ok. That was not expected because the last time we had eaten here the Braised Tuscan short rib, on the daily menu ,over pappardelle was excellent. A suggestion would be not to get their mini dessert and just order off of the dessert menu.... Mini's taste like they might be leftovers from Sunday brunch buffet. read more
