Just open this weekend in LB neighborhood and they only have 7 type of tea drinks. No boba, no anything, just tea and milk....parking are meters parkings (street, parking lot) or neighborhood parking. Nice and easy going service. Clean and well light decor with good chill vibe. I'm not a tea (just regular hot tea will do, no needs for fancy) or boba person but got dragged here since it's in my neighborhood plus we sort of missed this when we're in Singapore. Surprisingly I like my drink which is BOYA JASMINE GREEN TEA or tea latte w/ milk, iced. It's not bad at all, nicely mixed well and refreshing and you can taste the tea more than the coffee. I ordered the jasmine tea latte. It was smooth and well-balanced, and you can tell they use quality ingredients. That said, I personally prefer the jasmine flavor at Molly Tea and HeyTea. Compared to those, CHAGEE's jasmine tea latte wasn't quite as floral or fragrant as I usually like. Still, it's a solid spot with great vibes and nicely crafted drinks. It's an upscale tea brand, quality of the teas are generally good, and the branding also feels premium. Price of the drinks are about $7, but they are a little larger than an average milk tea. For my hot milk tea, it was a little too milk forward for my tastes and I should have had them make it stronger for me; however, I had limited time on my parking meter, which is the drawback to this area. I'm generally a fan as I've sought out their tea at their century city and Torrance locations. Glad I can get good tea here in Belmont Shore. Great addition to the area. Went to the opening weekend because they offered the free tumbler for the first 250 guests each day and totally worth it!! I used it everyday lol they have a great selection of tea and tastes really fresh! I got their peach oolong tea which is huge bc normally I don't like peach for the artificial after taste but chagee Does a great job of preparing it with natural ingredients and real sugar, which is a nice benefit. I went back a few times for opening weekend mainly because they have nice freebies with purchase and chagee is known to be really good about providing swag and freebies during their opening days which are really good quality and actually really popular. This spot is so perfect for a hot summer day when you need something refreshing! Each cup goes for about $7-8 but it's a lot of tea that you're getting. There's plenty of seating so if you need a third space to study or work, this would be perfect. It's not the most quiet though, and the ambiance is definitely casual with a lot of people sitting and talking. The drinks are on the sweet side. The less sweet option kinda tastes like the normal sweet option for a lot of drink establishments. And unlike other tea spots, they don't offer any toppings (jellies, boba, etc). I really like that they include a label with the nutritional information for anyone who needs to be recording their sugar/calorie/caffeine intake. There's a small parking lot in the back of the building that's metered, but if you're just dropping by to pick up, you can use the free 15 min grace period. Although, my experience was blunt and greeted with uninterested looks from the "tearistas".. Not sure if I caught the name, but a short girl with short hair and glasses "helped" me and seemed bothered and uninterested with life. I guess it was an inconvenience that I was unfamiliar with the menu and had a lot of questions. She treated me as if I was a nuisance, I understand these workers have to deal with a lot but when you're moping at simply helping someone like your paid to do, maybe you should just quit. I was always taught to leave your personal life and moods at home, this barista should do the same. I tend to order the Jasmine Melty by default and use that as a baseline to compare other drinks. Like many other tea places in Southern California, this spot emphasizes the quality of different teas. Their mission is to highlight each tea, so every drink we tried had a strong tea-forward taste. Not sure about your preferences, but we tend to go for less sweet drinks, and this really hit the spot for us. Service Since it was opening weekend, and I believe they were still in soft opening mode, you could tell the employees were still getting used to the equipment, the POS system, and some of the menu items. We called today about the wait time. The people that ordered after us had received their order before us. We spoke to a manager. She did not offer to resolve anything. Went on opening day. Given how many people there were and how long the line, the staff did a great job. They kept it organized and moving as best they could. They were able to take the order and make the drinks in a reasonable amount of time. The space is nice and would be a nice place to grab a drink and hang out when it's not over crowded.
