I've been here three times now, and in my opinion, they have the best chai in the Bay Area. I've tried the Cardamom, Saffron, Karak, and Kashmiri chai, and each one tasted authentic and full of flavor. They also have some great refreshers, like Peach Perfect and Blue Voltage, the OG Lemonade (just like road-side stalls back home) along with really good smoothies. The food is just as impressive and genuinely takes me back to Pakistan every time, whether it's the Anda-Shami, Bun Kabab, or Charlie Chapli Burger. The space itself is beautifully and aesthetically designed, making it a great place to sit and enjoy your meal. The staff is hospitable, and the owners are warm, social, and welcoming. Saw that this new chai place recently opened near Todos Santos Plaza, so checked it out with my daughter. Great decor and vibe, so that was a nice start to our visit. Extensive list of chai drinks, so I had the person at the counter make some recommendations. My daughter had an iced Kashmiri Chai, which is pink, garnished with nuts, and flavored with what I think is anise, that she hasn't stopped raving about. I had a hot Saffron Chai that was great too (although the Kashmiri is what I will be recommending to others, since it was more unique-tasting). The chai drinks are all under $5, so that was a pleasant surprise. It took a while, but the reason is that we saw them brew the tea. A lot of the time, ice chai is just sitting in a fridge, so the freshness was notable. For an entrée, she had the chapli kabab burger (Charli Chapli on the menu), and I had their Impossible Burger (Mission Impossible). She said it was delicious! Mine was good too. She upgraded the fries that came with it to the peri peri fries and loved the seasoning. Lastly, we ordered vegetarian samosas. Like the drinks, they tasted really fresh and were soft inside, unlike the usually dry kind I tend to end up with, so that was another win (albeit they were fried in a lot of grease, which is a good or bad thing). We were the only people in there, so I was sad to discover an amazing new spot with distinct offerings that hadn't attracted daily customers yet. Eats-fries, fusion burgers, wraps n rolls, breakfast, kid's menu, street treats, desserts, breads. Sips: masala chai (10 oz. 4.49) -had slight malfunction with lid. It popped off, spilling some coffee. -most deliz version tasted. Had strong black Tea & sweetness profile. Nuanced balance between various ingredients: cardamon, ginger, cloves, milk Bites: Lachlan paratha (3.39) -charred flatbread with wheat content. Warm it was. Kinda bland initially. How is this even possible? I ordered a Karak chai and the drink that came tasted like milk, with almost no tea flavor! The word karak means strong, but they basically gave me a cup of milk. I had to walk to Chaiwalla on the next block to buy another cup because it was so bad that I threw it away. Terrible experience, definitely won't come back. We stopped by Chai & Co. in Concord after the Fourth of July fireworks because Google showed they were open until midnight. I had been meaning to try this place for a long time, and I am so glad we finally did. It is truly a hidden gem. My family ordered three different karak chai varieties along with the Chicken Tikka Wrap and Chicken Malai Boti Wrap. The Chicken Malai Boti Wrap was absolutely incredible. I honestly cannot remember the last time I had a wrap this flavorful, tender, and satisfying. Every bite had that authentic Western Punjabi flavor. The karak chai was rich, aromatic, and perfectly brewed, and the portion size was generous too. Service was accommodating, and the ambiance was great with music and outdoor seating. The menu is simple, the food is outstanding, the portions are generous, and the value is hard to beat. I was SO excited to try this new chai cafe especially since it served Kashmiri chai which I've only had at Chai Guys in London and I've never been able to find it locally. Within the first few weeks of opening, I made my way over. I loved the ambiance and decor! There's a cool vintage scooter and an array of seating options. Plus there are games to play as well, so you can settle in at this tea lounge with some friends. I ordered the Kashmiri chai, but it wasn't like the one I had in London. It wasn't salty, but it was still pink, which was cool! It had a lot of crunch to it, which was fun, but it wasn't what I was expecting. I wish it was salty, but that's a different style of Kashmiri tea? I think I remember the Chai Guys shop telling me there's a summer and winter version, so maybe it was the wrong time for the one I was after. The staff at Chai & Co. were not knowledgable Kashmiri tea unfortunately. I tried to ask some questions about the different items on the menu, but I was met with a lot of shrugs and one-word answers unfortunately. The staff there that day could have been a bit more helpful, but maybe they were working out the kinks still. Anyway, if anyone from the shop reads this, I would love a salty version! I really wanted to love this place, but it was just OK. I would definitely visit again and see to try other items and see if anything's changed. The food menu was pretty pricey, and the baked items seemed especially pricey. I did buy a small cookie thing for my son which he liked, and that was fairly priced, thankfully. We had saw they had a soft opening the other night. It has opened today and it is really a nice cozy place. We had 2 x Chais and a Cake Rusk bread dessert. Also had ordered the Gular Juman sweet dessert. Hassan the owner was really nice and it was packed opening Night. The staff is very friendly and attentive. It was a little crowded inside so we sat on the patio. Late hours the weekend till 2am and 11-12am closing week days. Super cute cafe. Great place to come and hang out with friends. They have board games. My nephew loved playing while we had our chai & snacks. The Kashmiri chai was my favorite. Loved trying this new chai and chaat cafe! We tried the ginger chai in the matka (clay pot) and it was piping hot and delicious. Love that this place had games as well, while we waited for our order. We enjoyed a game of chess and chitchat with the owner! We tried the mayo garlic chicken paratha wrap, aloo puff, and samosa chaat. I have to say that I've been waiting for a Desi pastry and chaat shop to open like this for a long time, and so glad it did. We went to the place as it had recently opened and the weather was perfect for a hot Chai and snacks. The ambiance was great with fancy pictures and decor. What followed was really below the mark. The workers had minimal knowledge of the operations. It took a while to correctly place the orders as a lot of food items were not abailable and there was confusion in order taking. We ordered a masala Chai, a Kashmiri Chai, aloo puff and samosas. The Chai felt what you usually get at Starbucks, etc, made with Chai syrup rather than traditional way of making it. Puffs were soggy and hot outside/cold inside. Samosas took forever to come and were average too. We could see other customers upset too over menu pricing not matching with receipt prices, and poor chai taste. Overall, a below average experience in service and food taste. read more

The food and drinks are so good! I love chai so I was really excited to see a new spot open up- especially with late night hours. Between my partner and I we got two paneer tikka wrap, the loaded paneer fries, the masala fries (they come w a really tasty sauce too), the mojito drink, and the cardamon chai. Every single thing was so good. Like, "as we were eating we kept saying how good it was" good. The ambiance was also good- the couch area and seats along the wall are inviting, and about half of the people coming in seemed to know the people working. I'm soooo excited for this new place, give them a whirl! Update: when after a movie and 5 stars again. K love that they're open late! I got the papri chaat and mango refresher. I wish I could give zero star for this place. First off they open at 11. Then to top it off they don't serve food til after 12. I ordered a mango lassi which was premade and given to me. However the kadak chai I took I waited for over 45 minutes for it and then left without it. The barista was making the chai on what looked like a hot plate and taking her sweet time. The Charlie Chapli (haha) and Burns Bun Kabab burgers need a lassi if you're sensative about spiciness. The benches and soft coaches are comfortable, and it's tastefully decorated. I was excited for this place to open. Thought it would be a nice mom and pop cafe to stop by on my dog walks. I was mistaken. My friend went in to grab 3 chai drinks while I waited outside. It took 30 MINUTES for the cafe to make 3 drinks. It was not even busy in there and yet it took forever for these drinks. The jaggery chai was good while the other two drinks were meh. I recommend the biz work on efficiency. It should not take that much time to make drinks. I've been to other cafes and I was in and out in 5-10 minutes for drinks. I will not be returning. read more
