Went here today for dinner and definitely not disappointed! I left full & happy. I had the Pad Thai with tofu which was perfectly delicious. A Thai iced tea which I loved. And for dessert we shared some Mango Sticky rice and Coconut Pudding. Omg they were both SO good!!! I absolutely love this place and our waiter was so kind and outstanding! I love this place and we will definitely be back!

Our family absolutely loves this place! The staff is extremely friendly, food is prompt, and flavors are on point. While our family has been coming to this venue for years as well, however, we're not noticing the same challenges as other Yelpers mention about new ownership. The amount of crispy duck I received in my curry--about two duck breasts--is a stark difference from Yelper Pierre P's experience (and only $26?!). Overall the food is flavorful and has depth. Granted, I have not ordered the same dish from original vs. new owners, so we're not noticing the same changes as Yelper P. J. Our favorite treat is ordering boba teas ahead of time and picking 'em up for a between meal snack. So many options; all delicious! *A Note on Spice* Chai Thai offers heat levels 1 - 5 (see chili pepper icon chart on lunch side of menu). I consider myself very tolerant of heat levels (often getting "extra hot" at Dave's Hot Chicken), but IMO, curry spices are a different heat profile. I have had a level 4 curry before and my eyes were watering with every bite! Personally a 2 or 3 is plenty for me, while my wife and kids will typically stick with a 1. OR, did you order, but the dish is not spicy enough? Ask for the condiments tray which includes ground pepper spice mix, pickled vegetables, chili sauce, and small peppers? in fish sauce.

We loved this place! First time here on Sunday for an early dinner; 3 adults, 2 toddlers, set us back about $76 including a 22% tip. Ordered: steamed pork dumplings, fried tofu, pad see ew with tofu, another with chicken and a pad wood sen with tofu. Hubs also got the Thai iced tea. Fantastic and kind waiter, with super clean high chairs and plastic kid cups with lids! My only improvement request is to add a changing table to the men's restroom and we'd be weekly visitors!

This place is my go to restaurant for Thai Food in the area. I made an extra effort to try different items on the menu and been impressed. I ordered Beef Jerky, various curries, salads, vegetarian dishes(Fried Tofu and mixed veggies etc). The mango sticky rice is a must try, fresh mango with blue sticky rice was delicious. The presentation was very impressive. Very accommodating with allergies and special requests. Thank you

What a gem! Recently changed owners a year ago and he couldn't be doing a better job! Walked in and they had a big dinner birthday party! Treated their guests wonderfully and talked with me for 5 minutes. The owner is super kind and extremely personable. I got the green curry beef and I was very pleased. Great flavor, great spice level, one of my favorite dishes I e had in a while. My family got a plethora of other things like basil chicken, sweet and sour stir fry and orange chicken all with great reports. Nothing but full bellies and happy palates! 10/10 would recommend!

The ratings of this restaurant are all over the place! Our first and only experienced was great. The food was excellent. We were served by the owner/cook (we think) and she was very nice. And the ambiance was cute and charming! We were served on fancy Chinet but we didn't mind. We were also told that sometimes they close the dining area at dinner time when business is slow. So based on this and the fact that there were no servers during lunch time... we thought that maybe they did these things to keep afloat... and that may explain the mixed reviews. But we thought the food was worth visit and we would recommend.

Looks like a family owned establishment. The service was nice and people very friendly. Lots of seating inside. The food was very good too!! We got green thai curry - the curry was so flavorful and cozy..loved it. We also got street style noodles - amazing flavor again...would get it again. Overall very nice experience, would come back!!!

I saw…read morethey had Steak Stroganoff on their menu, and being a Beef Stroganoff fan, I wanted to give it a try. It was very good. I would definitely order it again. But....it was cold. And here's why. Hubby ordered the Chicken Parmesan, and apparently it has to go into the oven to bake which takes longer. So they brought my dish out first, and then his five minutes later. Needless to say, his was hot, and since I waited for him, mine was not. I will never understand why restaurants think it's ok to serve food at different times. People go out to eat TOGETHER, not one at a time. Eating before everyone has their food is not an option. It's rude. By the way, hubby really enjoyed his dish too. Pop machine wasn't calibrated correctly. There was virtually no syrup in the Diet Coke. It was like drinking club soda. Employees were very nice. They tried to find a solution to the food coming out separately by offering to put a lid on mine until hubby's was ready, and took the time to explain what the problem was. Two separate people checked in on us, one of whom appeared to be the manager/owner. Restaurant was very clean, and while it was freezing outside, the restaurant was nice and warm inside. I do recommend Noodles, but next time, we will do a to go order so we can enjoy hot food together.

I ordered online for carry out and the platform was easy to navigate. Once my husband and I arrived at the resto we were greeted by a very kind staff member. Our food wasn't ready but within 5 mins of us being there it was good to go. We tried the wonton soup and chicken dumplings app. Both were on the bland side. Normally I'm used to wonton soup also having noodles and theirs does not. Flavors were OK, felt like both dishes were missing spices. Everything was cooked perfectly though. Maybe we ordered the wrong items from here and need to try others instead.

In my experience, this signifies either the place was going to be a shithole to pass up, or it was a serious place to eat, then get out and go somewhere with an atmosphere. Happy to say J's (IMHO) is a serious place to eat. No-nonsense, direct and to the point. When I walked in, all those common chairs I mentioned were stacked upside down on the tables in the way that places do when they are closed. The taciturn fellow who worked there assured me they were indeed open, and explained they had just finish washing the floor. Please dont read any of this as negative-the best Chinese places I've ever been have looked like this-and if you've paid attention to the Travel/Food shows on the TeeVee, the joints in China itself are pretty much the same. On to the food, know this place is a Serious REAL-DEAL Chinese resto. I didn't notice if there were "Occidental" Chinese-type dishes on the carte, (primarily 'cos I wasn't looking for them). What I saw looked yum, and had a hard time making choices, even though I had read the menu multiple times and thought I know what I was going to order in advance. Confessionately, this is a chief feature for my tortured dining self-It's a wonder I even get fed in restaurants (especially the great ethnic ones), due to option anxiety. I zeroed in on "Street Noodles" for starters-wouldn't you? Then went to "Cold Beef Shank" for entreé. The Noodles were fab as was the Shank. The noodles were in a broth. with some hunks of bok choy and ground meat on top. Hearty, still light. The shank had a thin sauce complimenting but not obscuring the beefiness. One bugaboo: the Shank needed a bit of seasoning, and I wasn't going to use soy sauce, as I believed that would have marred the subtle flavors of the Beef. I asked for a salt shaker. It arrived, and I was a little taken back, 'cos it appeared it hadn't been washed in a while, and the salt inside was caked. It occurred to me this condition was present due to the non-use of said shaker. I don't think I've ever asked for a salt shaker in a Chinese resto. I pulled a toothpick out of my "Murse" and broke up the caked NaCl. Applying same to the pieces of Shank, the flavor bloomed and I was a happy boy. Bring some salt packets along when you visit "J's", maybe. The fellow who was waiter and cashier was a "western" fellow, whom I engaged and turned out to be quite an experienced foodie. some pleasant conversation indeed. Throwing 4 for this excellent establishment, with a few grains of salt separating it from 5...

I've eaten at many Thai restaurants in the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Food is usually too sweet or salty, proteins are overcooked, or give sparingly. I've come to just accept it lol. This place was the best I've seen for years! Padwoonsen - Beef was moist and perfectly seasoned not too sweet or salty. Veggies plentiful. Noodles dry (not soggy) just like it's supposed to be! Papaya salad- large portion. A little on sweet side but I asked for little spicy so probably catering to American taste which tends to be sweeter. Rice soup - got a small. rice soaked most of soup by the time it got to me. take out container was not great (styrofoam) but flavor still good.
