Late post, but I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the grand opening. I'm so excited that there's such a great boba place nearby. There isn't a ton of places to sit, but it's a very large and open space. Very extensive menu with lots of options for toppings (I even liked how they displayed what the toppings look like). We tried the bobo taro milk and signature superfruit tea (I ordered with popping boba but I think they forgot to add which is totally understandable because it was crazy busy). I'm not usually a fan of taro drinks because it tastes too sweet and artificial, but this might have been one of my favorite taro drinks. You can really taste the taro without being overwhelmed by the sweetness. The boba had a great texture as well. I'd recommend getting the fruit tea at 50% sweetness. So excited to have another boba shop in Oxnard! Today was their soft opening. They are located right by L&L and replaced the old Starbucks location. The staff was friendly. There was plenty of seating. Very clean and had a chill vibe. Ordered the Bobo Jasmine Milk Tea & the Signature Superfruit Tea. So good! The jasmine milk tea has the fragrant tea flavor and it's not overly sweet. The Superfruit tea was refreshing and had chunks of fresh fruit. You can tell the staff is working on their timing but totally worth the wait. Note they don't have any brown sugar boba today as an add on but can't wait to try it next time. There's not too many boba spots in Ventura County, and I'd probably just wait to go to SGV or Alhambra, but a nice surprise for Chaka Tea House. The ambiance is nice and clean, it is reminiscent of a quaint tea house to relax and enjoy your drinks, and the menu isn't crazy and filled with everything under the sun I got the strawberry yakult and was pleasantly surprised that they use fresh fruit and actual strawberry chunks in their drinks so it tasted better, and the yakult added that smooth creaminess without being overly heavy. My only suggestions would be to make the customizations more evident like sweetness levels (could've went down to 50-75%) and that boba (bobo) is a $1 up charge on every drink Otherwise knowing that now I'll probably stop again to give it another go and support the local AAPI community! read more

First of all, I want to start off by saying that this is probably the most legit boba shop that you can find in Oxnard/Ventura coming from a person who lives in LA and loves boba. The only problem about this place is the price. For the strawberry cheezo drink, I paid almost $9 for it. I was sad that they got rid of the Yelp check in offer because $9 is really expensive for a drink. Nevertheless, I truly enjoyed this yummy drink. The strawberry slush was very refreshing and I really appreciate them putting actual strawberries inside. The cheese foam had the perfect amount of sweetness, saltiness, and creaminess. The boba was chewy, warm, and encapsulates what I look for in boba. I just wish the drink had tea in it because I like to go to boba shops not only because of how tasty the drinks are, but also for the caffeine. The employees were nice and I like the vibes inside the shop. Overall, I would come back here to try other drinks as well, but I probably wouldn't come here as often as I want to because of the price. read more

Okay, I'm back with the update! I went again, about 2-3 weeks after my initial visit, and the quality has definitely gone down. I ordered a House Milk Tea and a Tiramisu Ceylon Milk Tea. The House Milk Tea was...horrible. Compared to my initial visit, this drink got me not wanting to come back. Suffice to say, if it was my first time having this drink at this place, I would 1000000% not come back here. My drink, first of all, was pretty lukewarm when I asked for less ice. I also asked for 75% sweetness, but might as well be 0%. Third, the drink is supposed to come with milk, but it just tasted like watered down tea (so much so that I actually added my own milk and sugar syrup to make it taste better, but still not up to par of a milk tea). The tiramisu ceylon milk tea was average. I had no complaints with the tea and drink, but definitely skip out on the tiramisu cream. Compared to other tiramisu creams I've had at boba shops, this definitely blows it out of the water...in a negative way. It just tastes like heavy cream mixed with some cocoa powder, whereas other boba shops like Tan-Cha use a plethora of ingredients for a more well rounded taste than just milk. Their boba pearls this time around were also a miss. The consistency was good, but lacking in flavor and just tasted as if I was chewing some starch balls, with hint of sweetness. They could definitely be sweeter and softer. Aside from the negative milk tea experiences, I would just recommend their cheezos or smoothies. Their milk teas have been a huge hit or miss, and inconsistency is the main reason why I probably won't come back. Given that 2 drinks were almost $15, there is no way it should have that bad of a quality. Oh yeah, and the wait time was better at around 10 minutes, but that's given the fact that we were the only ones there. I have hope that future customers might have a better experience, but just keep in mind that their milk teas can be a coin flip! read more

F: 100% I know it's soft-opening, so they're still trying to get into the groove of things. Other than that, everyone was nice. Teas here taste fresh like they're made from leaves, not powder. They aren't as sweet like other boba shops. So if you like sweet, you might need to ask for 200% sweetened. The tapioca itself is pretty good. Nice and chewy and doesn't get hardin the iced drinks. The employees seemed to not be happy to be at work, annoyed that I was a first time customer that needed time to order. Made me feel I was inconveniencing them by taking my time to figure out what I wanted. Asked for suggestions and simply a "Stare & Point" to some list. My super fruit tea; it was not sweet and did not contain the topping I had requested. Disappointed in most businesses in Ventura County. I feel dismissed, lack of welcome and or respect. Coming from LA, this is definitely one of the more authentic boba places. The staff were very sweet and friendly. The shop was also pretty nice and cute. I got myself a Strawberry Green Tea with boba. The cashier did inform me that it would be blended and I was okay with that...I just didn't think it was going to be fully blended like a smoothie because other places would still leave it a bit liquidy but it was all good, I just waited for it to melt a bit lol. Not sure if it was because I waited a bit that the boba got hard but overall, the drink was pretty refreshing and not too sweet. The only thing was that I noticed the drinks being pricey. I'm out here in Oxnard once a month for work and there aren't too many boba places in the area. So when I saw that Chakaa Tea House was open I was very excited to try it out. Everything is made to order and this trip I got the Mango pomelo coconut drink. It was pretty much exactly what I was imagining and it was delicious and refreshing. I'm not sure if they were short staffed since it was the middle of the day on a weekday, but there was one girl that was taking orders and making drinks. My drink turned out great and I'll definitely be back to try some of the other drinks that they have here. It looked like a lot of different variety of drinks here anywhere from milk teas, to fruit drinks, and tea and coffee drinks. The store is decently big and there's tables and areas to sit and relax Parking: a decent amount of spots right outside in this area but it can be full since there's a lot of other stores and restaurants. Cuuuute and finally a deserving running mate to some of my most cherished LA Boba faves! I love the more authentic varieties and drink options they offer vs the generic overly sugared "fake" fruit smoothies you find at 90% of Boba places now a days. This is our second time trying out the brand new Chakaa Tea house in Oxnard. This is a lovely and wonderful addition to the city for tea/boba fans. The tea shop is very modern & minimalist. Live music & cozy atmosphere. The service here is great, drinks came out fast, no wait, and friendly as well. The drinks are great, my girlfriend and I prefer 75% sweetness. I got the brown sugar boba, which was delicious! The boba was large and chewy. I also got it with the cheezo (heavy cream + cream cheese on top) which I highly recommend with easily any drink. My mom enjoyed the Thai, which was basic but still good. My sister got the strawberry but the lady ended up messing up our order and forgetting to put boba in hers. Update: Okay tried some of their other flavors. My favorite list has been updated: 1. Hokkaido Milk Tea with Crystal Boba and an extra order of Crystal Boba. Less sweet as the Crystal Boba does it all. Gently sweet flavor. 2. Ruby Milk Tea with Cheezo. Also a gentle flavor but a tad more savory than Hokkaido Milk Tea. The cheezo adds this salted cream facet that surprisingly compliments the RMT. If you can, play with the flavors. Mix different bobas or their different toppers! You don't have to stick with their menu since they give options. It makes the experience that much better! Much like life! Again, amazing flavors, amazing service.
