Chakaa Tea House is such a cute little hidden gem. I was craving some boba, as I usually do, but it was in the morning and the place I usually go to didn't open til noon. But I saw that this place opened up at 11 so I thought I'd try something new and it did not disappoint. The inside was so cute, a modern feel but also so inviting with the foosball table which was a nice touch. The perfect place to catch up with friends and hang out for awhile. My go to is always a brown sugar boba drink so I tried theirs and it was sooooo good. Since I came right at opening I waited about 15 minutes for the boba which I assumed would be the case because it takes time to make the boba so I didn't mind. This was my first time ordering a matcha drink, and it was gone in about 7 sips--literally finished within minutes! Unfortunately, it didn't feel worth the price. It seemed like I paid a lot for one cup of matcha with blended banana powder. The employee who helped me was polite, but the service felt very direct. He needed to have a little more energy, friendliness, and engagement would have made the experience much more enjoyable. Overall, I was disappointed by both the value and the experience. This is a neat small tea shop in the Esplanade. It's tucked in the corner, but it's open a roomy inside. I used the kiosk to order a Peanut Butter Coffee, a recent new offering from them. I love peanut butter and coffee so I wanted to see how they come together here. First thing to note, I selected the option presented to me on the kiosk for "Less Ice". When I received my iced coffee, it was full to the max with ice, despite it printed right on the side of the cup stating Less Ice. I don't think they could have fit another ice cube in there. Taste - The coffee was semi bitter which would be OK with some cream or flavor. It appeared that they lined the cup with peanut butter, yet that really didn't flavor the coffee much. It wasn't until I finished the coffee that I noticed I had a full cup of ice and peanut butter. I used my finger to get a nice heaping taste of the peanut butter and itneaa delicious. Whichever peanut butter they are using here, It tasted really good! This was an interesting drink, yet poorly executed in my opinion. The coffee was okay, but the peanut butter was excellent. I came across this place as I was constantly getting videos on instagram and knew it was a sign to try it. My wife and I ended up going early in the morning and was greeted very respectfully and even answered the millions of questions that I had asked, ended up trying the signature super fruit tea with crystal boba and my wife had got the Coconut blended coffee. I was a huge fan of the Superfruit Tea, was an amazing mix of flavors and a great taste, and my wife seemed to really enjoy her coconut blended, just wished it was bigger because of how delicious it actually was. Definitely recommend this place for people who want simple but yet delicious drinks, loved the decorations and the seating, would be an amazing spot for hanging out with friends and even studying (if it's not too loud or busy), Overall I think this place has to be more known and needs a much more seen area so more people can try this !! read more

This was my go to place when it comes to viet coffee because of the taste and size. But i was so dispointed the last time my husband bought me a drink. now they put in a little container not the usual one with a lot of ice. So technically your paying the same price but 1/4 of the the original size. Chakaa has been one of my favorite spots since they opened, particularly due to the strawberry cheezo and strawberry green tea drinks with the pieces of strawberry at the bottom of the drink. I was very disappointed when I returned yesterday to discover no strawberry pieces in my strawberry cheezo :( although the drink was still delicious, it made it much less special for me and I am not as likely to go out of my way for this, especially at almost $8. I was also a bit disappointed that the usually friendly and cheerful staff did not feel warm at all in greeting me or in their interactions. I was also surprised by how warm it was inside, too warm for me to comfortably stay there if I wanted to - you expect a place like this to be cool inside, not warm. I hate to deduct a star and still think the drinks are delicious, but I hope they go back to adding the strawberry pieces at the bottom of the drinks rather than blending them all into it. read more

One of my favorite Boba shops in the 805 area. I love their unique flavor combinations as well as the crushed fruit and some of their drinks. I wish they had lactose free milk because I am lactose intolerance but otherwise I love this space. I come here a lot to study and they play a lot of k pop music. Chakaa Tea House is such a great specialty drink and tea shop popping up around the 805. I've regularly frequented their Newbury Park / Thousand Oaks location but today was my first chance to try their Oxnard location. Parking was easy as this shop is away from the larger retail stores. When I came on a Friday afternoon there were plenty of parking spots. Tucked in the corner it could be a little hard for people to see them off the busy road and if you are driving fast around this shopping center. I honestly think that's what took me so long to try this location, as it's just not easily visible. At least the store itself is super cute and welcoming just like their other franchises. Inside was very clean and spacious. I liked that the table and seating areas are spread out throughout the restaurant and aren't all just clumped together on one side. This allows for a lot of privacy and this could be a good spot to sit and get some work done. The gal that took my order was nice and helpful. I'm only sorry I didn't think to ask for her name. But she was very quick to get my order taken and drink made. I appreciated that she wanted to ensure I got my rewards points and was engaging. Nice people work here! My peach oolong iced tea with cheezo foam was fantastic. This is usually my go to so I knew it wouldn't disappoint. This location is a good one, definitely worth stopping in if you are craving something refreshing to drink like smoothies and fruit teas. read more

Tea is good for what's around the 805. I enjoy this place mostly to work. Lots of natural lighting and they recently added more tables so it's no longer just the large communal table. There's a lot of complaints around staff. And I think it's hit or miss. It's a new business and I think they finally have a grip on their service and employees. I had tried the Cakaa Tea Cafe in TO so I already knew their Boba (they call it Bobo) tea was good but tried the Oxnard location for the first time today. The ambiance is different from the TO location. The TO location has a cute Asian vibe, but I like it in Oxnard. There is a small foosball game table. The open kitchen is good because I can see how they make drinks. Inside of the store was clean. Service was ok. I always have House Milk Tea at Boba stores, you can tell the taste of the store with simple, standard products. The milk tea tasted very good! I could taste good flavor. Also, the bobo was just the right texture, not too soft and not too hard. I loved it. I would like to try other drinks next time. The parking is in front of the store. read more

I was running some errands in the Oxnard area when I realized I was right by Chakaa Tea house! I had seen the business on Instagram and was very curious to give it a try. There was a fair amount of drink options so I was initially unsure what to get, but thankfully by the register there was a little menu detailing the most popular drinks. I decided to try the strawberry cheezo with boba, at 75% sweetness. It came out to the usual price of a boba drink at about $8. Not long after I got there, a decent sized group of youth came in, so it's definitely a somewhat poppin spot! About five minutes later, my drink came out and I sipped on it as I walked to my car. The strawberry part was similar to a slushy and was really fruity, but not too sweet. The cheesy part was sooo good. It was creamy and delicious. The boba had a nice texture although it isn't the softest boba I've ever had. Nonetheless I really enjoyed my drink and would go back to explore the other options! read more

Possibly the best boba in Oxnard! Very cute & clean aesthetic with great 90s r&b playing. I ordered the super fruit tea with boba, and my husband ordered the winter melon milk tea. Superfruit tea - soooooo refreshing!! It had strawberry, lime, orange, lemon, and watermelon. I also tasted OJ and maybe another fruit juice in it. It was perfect for a hot day, and the perfect amount of sweetness for those who like sweet teas. I wish the watermelon was seedless bc it's a little weird to chew on boba and then a watermelon seed. Late post, but I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the grand opening. I'm so excited that there's such a great boba place nearby. There isn't a ton of places to sit, but it's a very large and open space. Very extensive menu with lots of options for toppings (I even liked how they displayed what the toppings look like). We tried the bobo taro milk and signature superfruit tea (I ordered with popping boba but I think they forgot to add which is totally understandable because it was crazy busy). I'm not usually a fan of taro drinks because it tastes too sweet and artificial, but this might have been one of my favorite taro drinks. You can really taste the taro without being overwhelmed by the sweetness. The boba had a great texture as well. I'd recommend getting the fruit tea at 50% sweetness. Really refreshing on a hot summer day! Located in a mall with lots of parking. Service was friendly and efficient. Looking forward to coming back soon! read more
