Worst place for bbq. Nothing to eat but 40$/person. Don't waste your $$$. Go somewhere else. Nothing good to eat. Bill include 12% tips but the credit card machine still ask u for more tips, just skip. Check your bill 1st before paying.

I came here with a friend after not being here since before the pandemic and the prices have definitely gone up but the service remains great! There was no wait time here on the Thursday evening I went in, while the Gyubee in the same plaza already has a wait time of 1 hour. We were seated right away and within 5 minutes we already had our food ready to be grilled, which was amazing. The servers were super attentive and despite me being one to drink so much water that we usually end up getting the water pitcher brought to our table whenever I go out to eat, my water cup remained pretty much full for the entire meal. Empty plates were taken away really quickly too. The food was exactly how I remembered it pre-pandemic, however the sushi was kind of cold and a tiny bit stale. I don't really recommend getting the fish since it sticks to the grill and is hard to fry properly due to this. The ice cream is different now where they have packaged little Chapman's icecream cups but it was still fine. Parking is a breeze here since it has a large parking lot that it shares with the large plaza. It is also easy to transit here as it's right at Midland and McNicoll.

I love coming to this all you can eat Korean bbq place whenever i visit Toronto. The service is always good . Quality of meats and everything else is also always good. They have a senior discount !! When busy, they limit seating to 2 hours i think . Trust me, you will be so stuffed after an hour , you don't need more time . They used to offer really nice ice cream dessert but I guess due Covid , it's only ice cream cups ... quality not so delicious ! Don't order everything from the get go... you won't be able to eat it all ! Go with one of most things only , then re order . Pricing is excellent too.

They had amazing lamb and beef it was very well marinated, all their food was very good, they had amazing customer service and the scenery was very nice.

I came here last night for the first time for the AYCE dinner (usually I only come here for late night). This review is based on my collective experiences as a whole. You can expect the wait times at chako to be decently long at times, especially on a Saturday night. I waited for maybe 50 minutes this time around, and it kind of sucked because by the time we got in they were already doing last call for sushi. So a good tip here is to not come at an awkward in between time like 8:00... either come early for dinner or wait until 10 for late night so your time is maximized. The menu selection is a lot more extensive when you go for dinner, as you can choose from sushi and more meat and veggie kbbq options. Last night the beef was a little off, as it was too thickly sliced for my liking and was super dry... though I've never had problems in the past with their beef. Their kimchi is by far my favourite part about chako ever... I don't know how they prepare their kimchi but there's a bit of a sweet taste to it which is really good... I have yet to discover any other restaurant that makes kimchi as good as them, not even close! Service here was pretty good. Servers were always nearby to cater to needs and came with everything in good time. Our server said what each dish was as he put them down, which I could appreciate. There could be a bit more improvement in little attentive things though, like refilling on water. To sum it up, chako is a great place to come for AYCE kbbq. It's a given that you can't expect as good of quality in beef as a la carte places. For me personally, the variety you get for regular dinner is nice, but I'll likely stick to coming here for late night only, because it feels more worth it. For the price of regular dinner here, I think I would prefer to go somewhere else. As well, the benefit of having too much selection turned into a drawback for me because I got stuffed pretty quickly off of all the rice in the sushi. The late night options are more than suffice, as they include all the necessities for a satisfying kbbq experience.

Not my first time going, but's it's been a long time since I've been. The place has a very modern look to it. It has a romantic ambiance, but can also be good for friends. We went in for the late night cheap option. When you compare the full dinner menu to the late night menu, you still get a lot of great options. Highest points: Firstly, the cuts of meat were great. They were cut thicker than usual, but still cooked quickly. Second, the marinade used for the meat was delicious and made the food all that much better. It was a good blend of sweet and savoury. Definitely think that the pork was the best part. Third, the wait staff was kind and welcoming. Even though it was a late night, they were still walking around with smiles and helpful. Lowest points: The ventilation was pretty bad. I had a hard time breathing near the end. I could also tell I had inhaled a lot of smoke because my lungs were burning. It was also smoky (a constant layer of fog) throughout the place. It may have just been a fluke, but that's what it was like. I would definitely go back. The price is definitely worth the food.

Service: I went on a Friday night with around 20 people so we reserved seats but we still had to wait for a bit. The lady at the front desk was a bit rude but our servers were really nice. They came back to fill our waters around 5 times in the 2 hours we were there and they also provided us with many napkins. Food: There was a wide variety of meats, veggies and sushi to choose from as we went for weekend dinner. The meat looked frozen but they tasted relatively the same as other acye korean bbq joints. The salmon for the sashimi tasted kind of old but were still edible. I don't blame them as they're not a acye sushi joint though. The ice cream come in small portions and they're really good and you can order more. Price: I ended up paying $40 for only myself which is quite expensive for an acye korean bbq. Price was $28.99 but they added on a service fee and then after tax came to $36.70 and then I tipped the waiter $3.30. Keep in the mind that the total prices they give you don't include tip for the waiters. Environment: It's a very lively and modern place to eat at but I came home with my clothes smelling like kbbq. I don't really mind that though. Overall, service was great, food was adequate, price was expensive, and environment is nice. I wouldn't come back though as there are other places that are cheaper and price is a big factor for me.

One of the well known ayce places that serves both kbbq and sushi, my friend and I ventured here, hoping to fill our tummies. We went during the afternoon on a weekend and there were still many tables unoccupied. In the first round, the server told us that they'd bring out everything and they just take back anything we didn't touch. The quality of the meats were okay but I enjoyed the beef ribs the most. I felt like for sushi, they packed lots of rice hence filling us up quickly. All in all, I felt that the price we paid for the food wasn't as up to standard as I wanted but service wasn't too bad!!

Our server only came twice, which was when we first arrived and sat down and when we paid for the bill. She actually never came during the whole time we were there and never checked on us. Given the price range of this place, I'm surprised at the lack of and poor service. We waited quite some time before having to wave just a random waitress to come and take our order and we had to keep waving for random servers to help us fill our water and get the menu to order a dessert. We were also there to celebrate a birthday and informed the restaurant about it when we made the reservation. We were told that for birthdays, there's a complimentary dessert or if we order one, they could write "happy birthday" on the plate. After being seated, we reminded our server about this (the one who never showed up until bill time), and not only did we not receive any complimentary anything, but there was no "happy birthday" written on our dessert that we ordered and paid for. I think that is quite unacceptable given what we were told and we also reminded them upon being seated. What kind of service is this? This is pure ignorance of customers' requests and lack of follow through of their own restaurant policy about complimentary dish for birthday celebrations. In terms of food, we ordered the following: Wagyu Beef Siu Mai, Handmade Lobster Wontons, Crispy Broccoli, Crab Truffle Chawanmushi, and Black Sesame & Tofu Baked Alaska. We wanted to get the Shrimp & Scallop Toast but was told that it was not available so that was a bit disappointing too. Overall, all the food tasted pretty good and were aesthetically presentable. However, given the price point, I wouldn't say they tasted exceptionally outstanding. None of them were so special to a point that I'd feel like I must come back for that particular dish again. Overall a mediocre experience with pretty food that tasted decently palatable but with very poor (or lack of) service.

But the food were solid and it's a great option for a small group brunch as they don't have many tables and they don't have large tables at all (the best is to 4 people or less). Staff is very limited but it could be because we went on a Thursday and it wasn't busy. They have a QR code for you to scan and you can order directly from there and food came fairly quickly shortly after we placed our order. I would definitely return when I'm back in town.

I ordered the Wafu Carbonara after seeing decent reviews on Yelp, with the only critique being that…read morethe dish could be a bit dry. Hoping to get ahead of it, I requested the kitchen make it "more saucy." That was a huge mistake. Instead of actual sauce, it tasted like they literally just dumped water into the dish to thin it out. What arrived was a bland, watery, and completely tasteless mess. It was so flavorless that I had to aggressively add my own salt and pepper just to make it palatable. The photo speaks volumes--it was completely ruined. The service was cold and entirely hands-off. Our waitress took our order and then performed a total disappearing act. She never checked back in on us to see how the food was, and we literally never saw her again for the rest of our meal. The Verdict Between a ruined $22.50 plate of pasta and non-existent service, this place is a hard pass. Will not be returning for brunch.

My timing to drop by Kiu after an afternoon matinee at Cineplex was also messed up. Kiu was always closed after the movie was over. All those weird scheduling issues went away when I attended a Yelp event last December. We got to enjoy more traditional Japanese offerings. Kiu wanted a bit of a change from being known as the ramen place. This eatery is on the second floor with Cineplex, GoodLife Fitness, and more. You can get here by escalator or elevator. The Yelp event had the best sashimi. I sampled scallops, shrimp, and deep-fried shrimp heads. I also enjoyed proteins. They included New Zealand lamb, amazu chicken, and calamari. This eatery also had sushi. The torched sushi was especially excellent. I still haven't had ramen here. Someday, I will! Recently, during Lunar New Year, I was invited to my friend's place for dinner. I brought a dish. She brought a Kiu platter. It had something like thirty pieces of sashimi. It was chef's choice with the varieties. Everything was exceptionally fresh and yummy. I'm drooling reminiscing about how good the sashimi was. It was nice to know that you can still get takeout from this restaurant. I got the impression that the owners wanted more folks to enjoy the experience at their eatery. It was still special devouring amazing sashimi at my friend's place. There are individual gender-neutral washroom stalls in this eatery. Each one was wheelchair-accessible. I appreciated the mouthwash and toothpicks in the one that I used. It was clean and felt fancy. It's a wonderful restaurant. There are items at various prices to suit your budget. I hope to get ramen one of these days, but I bet that I'll want the sushi and sashimi again! (42)
