I stumbled upon Cornology of Walnut Creek last night before seeing the movie Peanut Butter Falcon. What a delicious surprise! If you enjoy flavored popcorn, or if you've ever enjoyed Chicago Mix popcorn, which is sold in shops on almost every Chicago corner, much like our Starbucks, then you'll love Cornology. Stumbled upon Cornology after intending to try Chalogy (boba place that shares space with Cornology) with my family. One must pass Cornology and its numerous displays of delectably dressed popcorn in order to reach Chalogy--nice strategy. I stood ogling at the caramel corn for about half a second before a kind young worker asked me if I'd like to sample anything. I verbally expressed that I couldn't decide between their versions of kettle and caramel corn, and he explained that I could try as many as I liked. Their corn is made fresh daily, and it is kept warm, which was a very nice touch. To make a long story short, I ended up buying two small bags--a caramel corn bag and a coffee bag--and was very happy to shell out the $7 per bag. Even the small was a very nice size. Additionally, you can put as many flavors as you'd like per bag! I'll definitely be back. read more

So sad that this place has gone down hill! I used to be a regular customer for buying their delicious caramel corn. However the past two times I have bought their caramel corn I have been disappointed. The popcorn they use now is different and the caramel popcorn tastes like cheap toffee! Now I thought I would at least try it one more time hoping they would get better. Nope and now they charge $29.95 for a large popcorn whereas the price used to be $19.95!!! I'm a huge fan of Chicago popcorn so I was excited to try this place. I went with the tried and true Chicago mix in a small cone bag. The packaging is interesting, but not very functional and seems to cheapen it, in my opinion. I'm a picker and like one similarly sized piece of caramel with one piece of cheese but the narrow opening/funnel design of the packaging makes it difficult to eat. I wound up dumping it out so I could enjoy it "properly". On to the popcorn - its good. Not the best I've ever had but it fulfills a craving when needed. It is a lot lighter than Garrets in the sense that each piece isn't as thoroughly coated. It makes it a tad bit healthier which is probably better for the Bay Area crowd but it lacks the indulgence and rich flavor that I like in this kind of treat. The price is definitely off putting - very expensive for what it is. With that said, it's worth a shot and it's nice to have a spot like this in WC for some snack diversity. read more

This was my first time coming in to Cornology and the service here was incredible. The nice lady let me try all the flavors while waiting for my rolled ice cream in the back of the store. They have so many varieties from cheese, to Chicago cheese, movie theater popcorn, a healthy vegan flavor, white truffle, and so much more!! Nearby where my Dad and I were going to attend a concert, I was looking for a good place to get a snack and have boba and this is the spot I checked out. Cornology shares the same space as Chalogy -- popcorn and boba FTW!!! It's nice that they give free samples; chose the truffle parmesan popcorn which was fairly good. Anywho, I tried a small Chicago Mix popcorn which was decent but not the buttery cheddar that I've come to deeply appreciate in Garrett's popcorn. I think next time I'll either try the Movie Pop or Sweet Corn. read more

No, it's not just corny, figured I would start with a joke. I had some samples here before the place opened, they actually let me come inside and get some samples. One of the guys I talked to told me he became a fan of this place because it was over at Broadway Plaza previously. I got a sample of Parmesan and a sweet one that was way to sweet, the gals that work there are really very sweet. I didn't finish the sweet one though. Asian people are really smart when it comes to businesses, as is this place. So, today I went inside after they officially opened, one of the gals remembered me, I tried a sample of two different kinds of tea drinks. I didn't have any thing to eat I didn't need to, I just ate before coming here. They also have crepes here, smoothies, ice cream, of course different flavors of popcorn. They have a very clean Edonica in the back. Am I forgetting anything? I think not. I will be back!! read more

Very disappointing experience on 2/14. Went in. Two clerks had to get up from customers tables when we walked in. The lights were low. I asked how old the merchandise was. They put assorted flavor of popcorn in one bag for me; with stronger flavor in the bottom and lighter flavor on top. When I eat through it, I got a surprise with each new layer. My favorite is the Truffle Parmesan. Bring the old bag back for refill, and they give you 10% off. read more

Love love love the popcorn! I love that local ingredients are used, it's 100% whole wheat, gf, and non gmo without compromising flavor! I absolutely love the Chicago mix. the daily grind is really delicious as well. The prices are decent for the sizes, and they have pre-packaged cones at the register if you want to have a smaller size. All the popcorn is fresh and warm which makes it even more delicious! My four stars are for the quality if the product. I would give 1.5 stars for customer service the first visit the girl behind the counter visibly looked like she would rather be anywhere than there helping me w/my order which is a total turn off, if you have face to face interaction at least TRY to slap half a smile on your face, her expressions were blank, her tone was flat etc really poor customer service. The second time was a little better from a young man, he was friendlier, nothing extraordinary however. All in all I'll still keep buying popcorn!!! read more

I first encountered Cornology while I was talking a walk around downtown Walnut Creek. The smell of the popcorn lured me in and before I knew it, I was enjoying a few samples. After trying most of the popcorn I decided to purchase Double Cheddar and Coffee flavor. I then moved on to the tea bar. I had Jasmine Green tea with sour flavoring and jellies. The tea had such a great aroma and flavor. The best tea I've had in a while. We also were given samples of rolled mango ice cream. The fruit is fresh and added to the ice cream. You can also watch them prepare it which is pretty entertaining. Overall I have a great experience and the staff was very friendly and attentive to any needs or suggestions. I will definitely come back often since they have such a great variety of drinks and snacks. read more

Popcorn is amazing! But theyy open at 12 noon. And if you get there at noon there is absolutely no popcorn where you pretty much have to wait another half hour 45 minutes until it's all popped. You would think someone would come in at 11 to prepare for when they open at noon. Pretty ridiculous considering sometimes I drive over 45 minutes to get there. Knowing the website says they open at noon they should say you will have to wait another hour for your popcorn so basically they don't open till 1. Not to mention the last time I was there, my popcorn was all crumbs. Several times I've been there the popcorn is amazing. Spoke to a gal that work there she told me the majority there business is in the evening. That location is downtown next to Peet's Coffee and there's a lot of foot traffic and most stores open up early. Won't be coming back to this place they just lost my business read more

Came to the tea/ice cream place to get some ice cream. Saw the popcorn an tried to order a few things. The lady said they were closed and that they could not sell anything because the register is closed. She was rude about it; I asked what time they closed they said 9. It was 8:58 so they should have still been open. I was ready to get a few things which means more sales for the company. Instead they lost that sale and future sales. read more
