This bar/restaurant is connected to the Phoenix hotel in the tenderloin. Cool retro vibe, smells very retro inside and definitely has been around a long time. Friendly staff and service both at the bar and for dining. The menu was very small and casual, the cocktails were ok. Overall I wouldn't come back for another go.

3 stars for the service, atmosphere, and food+cocktails(really yum)!! Keep in mind, this restaurant is in Tenderloin. It is not considered a very safe area in SF. If you're going alone, I would not recommend it. Even with others, I felt very much on guard during the walk from the closest parking garage to the restaurant. Upon arriving, the smell of pee engulfed our noses. The doors are big and heavy, and also very much peed on. There was pee dripping down from the door onto the floor. The entrance itself also had puddles of pee. We needed to bend over, stretch the arm out to open the door, and hop over the puddles. It stinks pretty bad. Once you're inside, you're good though. It is an incredibly chill vibe to drink at and to eat here next to the books, records, and by the pool. It's a bigger restaurant and has a lounge feeling. The food here is not too expensive, but it tastes like it should be! For the price, it's certainly impressive. The drinks are wonderful and we loved each cocktail. The food quality from the items we tried was amazing. If you're willing to get through the walk and into the door, this is a spot to try.

Brunched here with some friends who were visiting out of town; part of the goal was to find a laid-back and hip spot. Chambers did not disappoint on that front. We made reservations for a weekend brunch and when we arrived we were a bit surprised to find out that we were the only group in the restaurant. Now, I will leave it up to you to read into an empty restaurant during a weekend brunch in SF--good sign? Bad sign? Those thoughts left my head because I was impressed with the interior space; it is like a man cave retro audio room meets a bar, very nice. The food, on the other hand, was rather mundane to high average. I ordered the chicken and waffles and was expecting a sweet and salty, juicy, meal. But, both the waffles and chicken were dry; the saving grace was that the taste balance of sweet and savory was on point so the plate was cleaned. I got to try their brunch burger, which is a conglomeration of beef, fried egg, candied bacon, harissa aioli, cheddar cheese, hollandaise. served with fries. I realized I probably should have ordered that (too!) because it hit the spot; I just wish we had more fries to share. I really liked the ambiance and the space. If you want a brunch place that is fitting for some fine conversation in wonderful environment, put Chambers on your list.

This dinner restaurant sits on the property at the Phoenix hotel and shares a common side with the interior poolside courtyard. During the pandemic this eatery appears to inly be open for dinner service from 5pm to 9pm and it caters to the hotel guests specifically with I am assuming a small walk in crowd feom outside the compound. All of the staff I encountered, three or four people, were all under face cover, professional, friendly and kind. My server brought me water with my menu and then mentioned the nights specials. The menu looked good with several different choices and something for most tastes. After perusing the menu, I opted for the evenings special - fried chicken with bbq beans and sweet cornbread. I ordered a Pacifico with my dinner. A cold beer with my meal appeared within less than 15 minutes of ordering, the fried chicken was okay, a little heavy on the breaded coating for my likes but it was still okay. The bbq beans were good bit a small portion and the sweet cornbread may have been the highlight of the meal. Served in a small cast iron skillet it was absolutely delicious and the best part of my meal. The servers are all professional, the service is pretty quick, the food okay, the beer cold. This poolside locale is comfortable for outside dining al fresco. Though it was very windy the night of my visit the wind block partitions and exterior space heaters everywhere helped offset the night winds and chill. 3 Stars - it served its purpose for a close to my hotel meal - literally across the pool area from my room. Food okay not great not bad - okay, and the location to my nights stay hard to beat. 00707

Chambers is absolutely amazing. I've spend one of my most memorable and best New Year's Eve here about 7 years ago for dinner and after party. It was one for the books! My point is I've come back this year multiple times, yet again to be swooned by the customer service and amazing food. It's STILL such a vibe!!! The music.. the down to earth ness.. the chic vibes of feeling so elite yet right in the heart of the tenderloin. I will never get tired of the vinyl decor. I love it here and hope it stays forever ! Come here if you just want good vibes, easy going, down to earth, and just to feel so SF.

Do you know the muffin man?! F*** yeah I know the muffin man. He made an amazing English muffin burger for brunch today with fried egg, candied bacon, harissa aioli, fiscalini smoked cheddar, tahini hollandaise, sweet and spicy pickles! Mouth-watering Homer Simpson drool level! *Uuuggghghgghghlllll*

Restaurant located at the very funky retro Phoenix Hotel serving up some tasty tavern fare in the heart of the Tenderloin. Brunched with a group of my SF pals while in town for a big birthday bash which was held the night prior in the very same restaurant back bar area. I enjoyed the brunch burger, although I ordered it medium rare it arrived well done (Boo!!).. brisket/chuck blend burger topped with fried egg, candied bacon, cheddar, harissa aioli, and hollandaise accompanied by fries, this burger has all you want in a brunch burger (points off for messing up the cook- medium rare would have been awesome). One of my friends had the New York steak & eggs, and man was that good! Juicy New York strip with green garlic chimichuri (they got the medium rare cook on that right!) served with eggs and crispy patatas bravas with pimento aioli.. so good! Also notable are a most excellent bloody Mary (vodka) and bloody Maria (tequila).. they ran out of bloody mix (due to my large group of brunchers - hair of the dog from the party the night before! Lol). If you're staying at the Phoenix or in the Tenderloin, this is a great place to grab a bite for sure ;)

This restaurant is really unique in many ways. I feel like this hotel used to be a motel 6, got bought out, and transformed into a boutique hotel from LA. It's great because they have fire pits, cabana seats, a cocktail bar and a high-profile restaurant. My favorite table is the communal table by the vinyl disc library. Me and some friends had dinner and celebrated my bday. I thought their burger was cooked perfectly, steak was grilled perfectly, and their desserts were delicious. I was given a free tiramisu cake with a candle! The food is a bit too pricey though with my table of 8 paying over $500! That's a lot of money for some tapas style food. Their cocktails are delicious especially the Santeria! I would def come back again but more for the lounging and drinking. The night vibes in here is great with lots of people and a medium-high voice tone atmosphere.

Really cool and intimate space inside. The decor and lighting is perfect for a date or small group of people. I absolutely loved the food and had the ahi tuna. The risotto was absolutely buttery and fluffy. The ahi tuna was absolutely delicious and pretty high quality. Will definitely be back :)

So glad these guys are open for dining again! I went on opening night, and it was really great to see how spaced out the tables were and how gorgeous the ambiance still is. We started off with wine (of course) and I got the burger and fries. It was a perfect portion size to go with drinks, so I wasn't overly full. I used to come to Chambers all the time before the pandemic, so seeing them back in action was such a treat. The area around Chambers isn't the greatest, so just be mindful when you arrive and depart. Other than that, I LOVE this spot!

I was SO excited to come here for Valentine's Day. And yes, if we're just rating the ambiance this gets a 5/5. But this is about the food. Me and my boyfriend love going to nice restaurants for special occasions, or whenever we're in the mood. I say that to emphasize my next point, which is that I have a pretty good idea about price point versus quality of food. To be transparent, this place charged us nearly $200 for a few dishes that were NOT up to par with the price, ambience, and expectations. Carrots with couscous: the carrots were burnt and extremely dry. You don't have to taste it, you can tell from looking at my picture. The couscous was well cooked but bland. Octopus appetizer: very overcooked and rubbery. Octopus is one of my favorite appetizers that I love to order at restaurants when it is on the menu, and this was a real let down. The sauce, minced veggies, and rice base was good. Mac & cheese: don't get me wrong this was good, but it tasted SO average. Like mac & cheese I make at home. We couldn't taste a single drop of truffle which is the "uniqueness" of this mac & cheese. Pork: this was my favorite dish! The mustard seeds gave the dish such balance with the savory meat and the sweet applesauce. Which leads me to my next point, the house made applesauce was sent from the gods. Very textures, natural sweetness, and a great pair with the pork. Steak: this was good, cooked too rate for my liking despite asking for "medium." The chimichurry sauce poured on top was the star of the show, the meat didn't have much flavor without the sauce. Hazelnut cheesecake: exactly as delicious as you're imagining it. It tasted like a Nutella cheesecake! But with more richness, depth, and it was a pretty big slice. This place was on our list for a while, my boyfriend was especially excited because he had been waiting months to check this place out. As good as the cheesecake was, I don't think I'll be returning.

By sheer luck, my birthday coincided with the 4-course for $45 promotion they were running for their 10-year anniversary. I had to jump at the opportunity, especially since the menu was built from the all time favorite items at the restaurant since their opening. I really couldn't think of a better way to experience a restaurant for the first time. While some set course meals have a few misses, this one was just hit after hit the entire way through. I really felt as if every course was complimentary, but different enough in their own way to stand on their own and make an impact. Tldr: the food was amazing! The icing on the cake (figuratively and literally) was just how far they went out of their way to make my birthday night special. Exceptional service, bringing out a complimentary dessert with a candle, and even leaving a personalized card elevated this experience to the next level. The only downside with service was that they didn't offer us a bread basket. We didn't realize this until the very end. Everyone else got bread baskets and were even asked if they wanted one. Everything was delicious. The quality of every dish really stood out, and I'd happily order all of them again, but here were my favorites: * Sushi Rice: SO good. Definitely a must order. The beef somehow almost tastes like tuna haha. * Fried Rice: I'm obsessed with corn, so this was a must for me. * Maitake Tempura: A must for mushroom lovers. Also, the ranch was incredible. * Kakigori: Absolutely mandatory for dessert. No further notes lol. * Lamb Kofta: Really flavorful and delicious, though next time I'd probably try some other dishes instead. * Avocado: A great option if you want something fresh and green on the table too. * Parker House Rolls: These were good, but probably not my favorite. I think I'm biased because I don't really love rolls in general, and the other dishes felt more unique and memorable to me. These were just the items we had, but the menu changes often, so you may see different dishes when you go. The Sushi Rice is one of the staples though, and I definitely think it's a must try. First, their bar policy for large groups is frustrating. A guest in our party tried to order a soda at the bar but was turned away because he wasn't physically sitting at the bar counter. For large groups, people should be allowed to open separate bar tabs so they don't have to be looped into the main table bill. It feels unreasonable and cuts into the bartenders' tips. Second, our server wasn't very welcoming. While not openly rude, the cold demeanor made our diverse group feel a bit pre-judged, which was disappointing. We still ended up with a hefty bill and tipped well, but hospitality could definitely be improved. Overall, we had a great time because of the company, music, and food. I read an article about this fee with many different names and I would rather pay a bit higher of a price and know the employees were taken care of than be surprised by this fee later. Two sandwich breakfasts, a mocha and a danish on top of tax and their healthy sf fee was $63. Steep for the quality we got. Won't be back.

The marinated artichokes were good, not amazing, but a large portion and pleasant enough. I wish they had more veggies or a salad option. The seats are not comfortable, this is not a place to come and relax with a book. The parklet seating is nicely sheltered from the breeze, but can be noisy. The music, outdoor setting, and service are all good. Flatbread was lovely and soft when hot, hardens to a crispy cracker when it cools. The Woody's sparkling N.A. rosé was a bit flat (flavor wise). I've had better ones (especially for the price). I'd definitely come back with a friend or a date. It was a depressing spot for dining solo, and it would be hard to come here with a bigger group.

The outdoor parklet was the perfect synthesis of indoor and outdoor. I'll definitely be back to try their "cheeky" hour with select discounted bites and drinks.
