-Chilaquiles were amazing -French toast was eh.. nothing great -Prices are high and similar to beach resort prices, but you're not on the beach.
My wife and I have eaten at a lot of good restaurants over the years, but Bar Esquina was really quite amazing. Five out of five on ambience, five out of five on service and 4.5 out of five on food (catch of the day was a tad overcooked but still delicious). If you are ever in Cabo, I would highly recommend checking this place out. We got one of the pizzas as an appetizer and it rivaled Hoboken-style pizza (that is a huge compliment). You will not be disappointed.
Our first resto/ bar in Cabo! This place was cute! My friends and I made a reservation ahead of time and got seated immediately. The vibes were super chill and the workers were kind. They already knew what we came for LOL tequila! Aside from the yummy drinks, we ordered basically all the apps which were super interesting. The fries were more like very very thin chips that tasted like air LMAO. The beef tartare, pizza, and the peppers is what everyone enjoyed the most. The waiter came out with two orders of the peppers and we told him we only ordered one. He told us "No you ordered 2" and made us pay for it still LMAO. That was a little annoying but whatever since this restaurant was pretty affordable. Very cute interior and okay food, but we ended up going to McDonald's right after LOLLLL.
Let me start by saying, we ate here on Christmas Day, on the recommendation of a person from our hotel. Here is my breakdown: Ambience 4/5 - it was nice enough, felt like we were eating in an outdoor courtyard with 'curtains' for windows. It was bright and spacious. When it got dark they had really cool battery powered lighting at the table. The bathroom was cleaned and well stocked. Food: 4/5- my sister had the Lobster Sliders and enjoyed them. My niece had the fish of the day - Seabass and thought it was delicious- light and flavorful. I had the short ribs special. And although the flavor of the short ribs was excellent and the meat very well cooked--my short ribs were really fatty, so I ended up not getting a lot of meat on the rib -- just lot of fat. So that was disappointing. Now- the chocolate lava cake which we shared for desert? EPIC. I mean so freaking good we wanted 10 more. Rich, creamy, warm. Just loved it. Service 4/5 - our serving staff were okay. Courteous and polite but not necessarily proactive. Now that said, the management did come round several times to check in and see if we were being taken care of. And that was appreciated. So management might be more 4.5/5. Overall 4- but on the higher end;) Would certainly recommend based on how my family loved their meals!
My fiancé and I are in town planning our wedding and stumbled upon Bar Esquina while looking for coffee! I got an iced americano with white mocha added! My fiancé got a frappe. Both were delicious the beans they use are super smooth! Better than coffee back home! We also got a grilled cheese on sourdough which was delicious! Decor is super cute and service was amazing! Dulce helped us out both times and she was super sweet!!! We will definitely be adding this place to our list of recs for our wedding guests!

My favorite part is the smoothie selection and the açaí bowls. The açaí bowl specially is really good. Highly recommended. The part that was very disappointing was the coffee. I wouldn't have critique them hard if they weren't charging a lot. All the prices are on the expensive side of what you find in US, the smoothies and pastries are good quality and I expect the coffee to be the same (as they advertise). But it is absolutely NOT. (I only tried their espresso but I assume same would apply to pour over too but I can't tell for sure) The coffee itself taste very dark, not fresh and doesn't have a good profile. The cup sizes are all off. The smallest cups are 10 or even 12oz which is too big for a cappuccino. Those old days that people like getting big milky espresso drinks are behind us and you should serve them in proper sizes. Cappuccino or flat white should be served best in a 6oz cup. Also the baristas don't know the difference between a Cortado and macchiato. Anyways, I know coffee well and I can't give them more than 1 start for that. I hope the owner find this review helpful.
Service is great! They actually change both your plate and your silverware between courses. If you are cold, they will give you a blanket. Food was also pretty good. The charcuterie board was alright, could have used more sweet elements/fruits/jams. Otherwise, we ordered the lobster rolls, papardelle, and agnolotti, all of which were great! Drinks were also good, shout out to the pisco sour! Prices are a bit high, especially for wines. The markup for a couple of Napa name-brand wineries were more than 8x the price of the bottle in the states. I understand import fees are high, but some of those prices are just ridiculous. There was also a decent live band there the night we dined. Ambiance is romantic in the evenings, suitable for dates and maybe even special occasions.

Maybe we hit an on-night (90's (Pearl Jam, 4 non-blondes, 3rd eye blind), a little Elvis. All acoustic with an amazing voice. Will definitely be back every time I visit!
So my new life as a contract pilot has its benefits. Owners in Cabo for the weekend and the boss puts us up at a posh resort. My captain suggests we drop into this place for breakfast. I'm a huge coffee fan who roasts his own beans at home. My standards are pretty high. These guys were towards the top of the yummy ladder. I stayed for two before we sat for food. So, what can i say about my captain. Speaks zero Spanish and suggest the eggs Benedict. . Seriously, we flew three hours down here to eat food we could get back home? Nice guy but culturally bankrupt. I had chilaquiles con sausa ranchero. Dear lord, foodgasm and multiples. I didn't even try to his as i licked the plate. So hugging mi mesera was a bit awkward but needed to happen. BTW - talking behind your bosses back in Spanish is a def crowd pleaser.
Such a refreshing quick breakfast. The açaí bowl was so fresh m, with fruit, cocoa and nuts. And I was stoked to find an iced coffee. We got two coffee drinks, two chocolate croissants, an açaí bowl and a caprese sandwich for roughly $60 usd.

We had such a great dinner at Bar Esquina in Cabo! The atmosphere was beautiful, lively, and the live music made the night even more fun. Absolutely gorgeous restaurant and bar. We went two nights in a row! The first, we had the best mezcal spicy mango margaritas ever. The second- OMG- the most delicious and beautiful tuna tar tar! It was my birthday and their amazing live band 'Soul Collective' sang happy birthday and they brought me cute flaming birthday cupcake! Outstanding service. The food was excellent! My friends and I were looking for a brunch place during a bachelorette trip and we were a few minutes late for brunch but they still allowed us to order from the brunch menu which was nice. The restaurant was very pretty and lighting was great for pictures. The waitress was attentive and their service was impressive. I had the French toast which was served with ice cream which was very different but so good. I also had a green juice which was super refreshing and the latte was on point. Everyone in the party enjoyed their food. Will definitely visit again when back in Cabo! read more

Enrique is an excellent server! We love the live music as well! Food is delicious, we like to order more than we can eat so we have leftovers. Try the pizza, try the pasta try it all! One thing to note, is that the Shishido pepper dish comes with fish flakes which I am not a fan of. If you don't know what that word means on the menu let me help you with that. read more

This place is absolutely exquisite. We ordered white wine, oysters, pizzas, salads and burgers. As a large group, we shared most of our food. Not a single menu item disappointed. I had such a wonderful time! I'm an Oregonian but I met up here with friends from New York, Argentina, and California. We had such a nice conversation and the atmosphere was so comfortable! Every single one of us was impressed. The staff were friendly and the ambience was lovely. The restaurant has a semi open roof, so at nighttime you're able to dine under the moonlight. When I went, there were live music and some fires going. If you got cold, they would bring you out a cozy blanket. Between the stunning setting, delicious food, and top notch service, I find myself just raving about this place. I will most definitely be dining here again! read more

Bar esquina is apart of a larger restaurant and hotel. I walked around the hotel/restaurant side and it felt like a little jungle. We only ordered from the coffee side but it was amazing. It was a small space to order your coffee but a lot of options. A few different smoothie options + coffee. Great pick me up for your morning. I was able to add açaí to my smoothie to add a little bit of flavor. The blueberry muffin has an amazing filling that was delicious. After grabbing some coffees to go, our group came back for a sit down breakfast. And WOW it was amazing. Everyone in our group ordered the Benedict. The side salad was a good touch and the eggs were made perfectly. The avocado toast was hard to eat without cutting in half but was amazing, we decided to take off olives. read more

What an absolute hidden gem in the heart of Cabo San Lucas. This outdoor/indoor environment truly exhibits a genuine passion for interior design, service, and food selection. The live music was simply an added plus. Only downside was one table within the outdoor dining area was very loud and their voices carried throughout the room even above the music and performer. Several restaurant goers/tables were displeased as it went on for quite some time. Several employees and even the manager walked by this table however did not mitigate the situation. Other than that, this place is a must see and just in need of some slight employee customer experience training. Pictures/videos say it all! read more

Was pleasantly surprised to walk in for dinner on Christmas Eve. Ricardo was a wonderful and friendly server. We enjoyed grilled organic veggies and shishito peppers with asian dressing for appetizers. Main courses were delicious braised short rib and blackened tuna. The dishes look like art on the plate. Finished off with the apple pear crisp which offered grilled baby pears and vanilla ice cream. They also had a very entertaining singer who performed many familiar hits on his guitar throughout the meal. Look forward to coming back on future trips! read more

We're staying at Casa Dorada (across the street). I absolutely hate the coffee at our resort and downstairs deli/coffee shop. I loved the bfast around the corner at Jarro but they don't carry 1/2 and 1/2. I NEED my creamer. Stopped by the coffee shop Inside Bar Esquina which is located Inside the Bahia hotel and was so happy to get a lighter roast with steamed creamer. Highly recommend the vanilla concha and the gluten free sourdough muffins. Soo sooo good. We ended up adding oatmeal to order which was the prettiest plate , most amazing toppings (I'm a plain Jane with oatmeal toppings ) I've ever seen and damn delicious . This order took our $15 coffee and pastry order to $40 dollars. Oatmeal was amazing don't get me wrong but if your looking to stay within budget stick to just coffee. read more

We dined at Bar Esquina during our stay at Bahia Hotel for the complimentary breakfast. The place is beautiful and the service is friendly. The food is delicious as well, and we ended up having breakfast here everyday even though we were initially planning on skipping the complimentary meal to explore other options. We never got to try their lunch/dinner because of our plans but it looked like a great place to hang out for drinks at night as well read more
