Always great service and food at Chang Bros. They're now only open for dinner starting at 4pm. Located behind the SAFE Credit Union parking lot. Prices have gone up recently but I guess that's everywhere. Their wonton soup is amazing. Comfy booth seats, pleasant atmosphere. We love our server, Debbie!

2 stars. Thank you for being open. Price is affordable. Taste isn't good. Not a go to place. 3 stars Subgum Wonton Soup. This was very average. The broth, chicken, wontons all were ok. 2 stars egg drop soup. No flavor. Little substance. 2 stars pork steamed dumplings. Tons of batter. Didn't taste steamed. Didn't enjoy this. Not a lot of flavor in the dumpling. 2 star fried chicken wings. Strangely battered. Not like naked fried chicken wings. It was ok.

So I'm Chinese and my wife and brother in law who lives with me are Mexican. I can be harsh judging Chinese food because my family has owned a successful Chinese food restaurant and it's what I grew up on so I can be biased. That being said, we all agreed that although the food was decent enough here, it wasn't worth it compared to the competition in the area. I've done something to my brother in law and I've noticed that ever since I've brought him food from my parent's house a few years ago he's been addicted to Chinese food....getting it at least once a week. He's only been in the area for about 4 months and has visited over 12 different Chinese food places in the area! I didn't even know there were that many! Anyway, we ordered chow mein, fried rice, kung pao chicken, and a beef dish. At the price point, take out portions were smaller than the competition and prices slightly higher. Food taste overall was average, nothing memorable, but also nothing to complain about. Like the star rating says, Meh. I've experienced better.

    General Tso's Chicken

We ordered general tso's chicken, chicken potstickers, chicken chow mein, and egg rolls. First off the food was bad, it was pretty good. The service was great, the lady that helped me at the take out counter was very nice, and friendly. Potstickers we're pretty good, they kind of fell apart which was a bummer, but tasted good. The chow mein and egg rolls, were plentiful and tasty. The only "bad" dish we got was the general Tso's chicken, it was about $16, and there was a good amount of chicken, but it was just very bland, considering there was a warning saying it's spicy, I expected some more kick and flavor. All around pretty good place to eat, the inside dining section seemed nice too. Just a little too expensive for the quality of food.

I say that at somebody who eats Chinese food all the time and whose family has been in the business. The beef chow fun had zero "wok hei". Wok hei is when the noodles are a bit charred and you can taste the heat of the wok. These chow fun noodles had no char at all. In fact the uncooked soy sauce was pooled at the bottom of the serving dish. The beef had zero char either. The chicken with salted fish fried rice was way over-salted. Salted fish by its nature is already salty. You don't need to add a ton of soy sauce and salt. To make matters worse the rice was undercooked and hard. The bok choy with garlic was just awful. You're supposed to use baby bok choy. What they used was chopped up pieces of giant old stalks of bok choy. It was clear that they just boiled the pieces and then barely stir fired them. The result was the bok choy was tough and flavorless. One of our party had chow mein as part of the daily special. The noodles were basically mushy with zero wok hei and no taste. Detective a pattern here? We had a couple of other dishes and they were equally bad. Needless to say, this is one restaurant I'm going to avoid in the future.

A Cantonese style dinner memory Growing up in the 60's…read moretoday's youngsters probably won't remember when you were lucky to have a Chinese Restaurant nearby where your family would go for special occasions to share a traditional American Chinese food dinner. There were few restaurants and no such thing as fast food. Family... We loved it because we would see my Uncle and Auntie and sit at a large round table and enjoy a great variety of dishes we shared with the whole family , of course only on special occasions. This was well before the Pandas of the world, today's fast food, take out evolution and I can't say that it's better other than the variety of Taiwan, Sichuan, Asian fusion highly creative dishes, every type of Chinese food you can think of. But stepping into Rose Garden brings back those past memories, you know the type you forgot about, until a flavor or dish you know the taste of familiarity that brings back good memories. Well ,I have to say Rose Garden is a great place to find Cantonese food at a great price with food that will remind you of family dinners. So if you're on the road to Tahoe and crave Cantonese food , this restaurant sits between the 50 and 80 freeway just outside Sacramento in Roseville. Service welcoming and fast!

It was mostly noodles and the sauce wasn't very flavorful at all, mostly because it was almost non-existent. One extra star because the noodles were cooked properly. We doctored both dishes with sauces.
